Rslgto's Final Fantasy X-2 Game Review

Rated: 9

The gameplay is a bit different from Final Fantasy X. The battles now use an Active Time Battle system--instead of turn based--and you also have ability to change dresspheres to your liking during battle. This means that you can change jobs from Warrior to Thief, to Samurai to Healer, to Black Mage to Mascot, to Trainer to Gunner and so on and so forth, while you are engaging in battle. This proves to be very convenient if one is to use different attacks on fiends whose abilities and weakness vary. Also new are the chain attacks: the more consecutive attacks you perform on a fiend, the higher the damage as each hit is multiplied by the order in which it is received. This proves to be vital against powerful fiends or if one wants fast-paced battles that end quickly.

Adventchildvii's Final Fantasy X-2 Tv Review

This Final Fantasy was the 2nd worst Ive ever played, If i didn't have a personal grudge and bias against FFIX this would proabably be the absolute worst. First off, its terribly short, the new game plus was just an easy way to extend the game while working less, and I had though Square-Enix to be above using New game plus for that until now. There are only three playable characters, and although there's no problem in battle variety with dresspheres, only three characters really doesn't help with story, especially since they weren't exactly what I would call well developed. Due to all the playable characters being female and with skimpy outfits, this game has a Charlie's Angels feel to it, which i feel does not belong The story gaps don't exactly help this game's cause either.

Gameplay

Basically you have to complete missions, and the missions are divided into chapters. By completing a missions you can get further in the storyline and see what happened in the 2 years. Some missions are hotspots, they will get your further in the storyline, but some are not. If you complete those mission your completion percentage will increase. There are several ending movies of FFX-2, depending on how high your completion is. But after you finished your game you can start a New Game Plus; Your Dresspheres, abilities you learned, items, gil and more will be saved.

During the game you can collect Dresspheres, you can equip Dresspheres to learn abilities and gain stronger. It's just like the Job System in Final Fantasy V.

Periphery's Final Fantasy X-2 Tv Review

The game is based on missions. The player chooses the missions they want from a list and various scenes ensure. The game also has a percentage completion gauge - the ending you view depends on your score. There are 4 different endings. To get 100% , you must view all of the scenes available in the game(save some) and do certain actions. This is admittedly original, but it also forces you to play the game multiple times(if you don't use a walkthrough) in order to view the various endings. This results in a mind-numbing experience, coupled with the inane music, and I myself stopped playing at 97% because I was too bored to even want to continue.
One irritating thing about this game is that Yuna always refers to Tidus as "he" or "him".

Tareren's Final Fantasy X-2 Tv Review

I do not think this game has originality seeing how it continues from Final Fantasy X, in the same place and all. I do not enjoy playing this game, especially since I feel that this game does not have the 'Final Fantasy' feel to it. I think this is the worst Final Fantasy series that I ever played. Maybe it was because of the playing style where you have to choose for spots to go in order to continue the story, or the idea that you can change jobs from warrior to white mage, to black mage, to lady luck and all. Another thing that I do not like is how Yuna seems to act cute everywhere and everytime she had the chance to.
