Tempestchron's Kimi ga Nozomu Eien Tv Review

Kimi ga Nozomu Eien

Rated: 9

The beauty of the arrangement of its events is that the story makes you guess what has happened, instead of serving it up straight. It presents the details, slowly, one at a time, so as to make you anticipate the next time another detail is presented. Occaisionally this style makes you fell like shouting, "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS PIECE OF S***?!", but this works in its favor :)
NOTE: I was not the one who said that, it was my anime-freak friend. ;)

All in all, in its brief 13 episodes, the anime manages to present a realistic love story that is unlike any love story out there. For those looking for a love story that deviates from the usual giddy-type animes that make you feel good, this is the story for you.

Interestingly enough, the bulk of the events of this show, despite its starting time period being high school, take place when the main characters have left high school and are just starting to enter their adult lives. The show utilizes several flashbacks to help fill in the gaps in the viewer’s knowledge about what has occurred. Though sometimes I find such a device annoying, I thought it was used to good effect here to enhance the emotional atmosphere of the show. Given the large number of anime shows that focus on high school romances, this show had an interesting mix of young adult and high school romance elements.

Kimi ga Nozomu Eien

As most of you would notice by now, Kimi ga Nozomu Eien is intended for mature viewers (15+) since it's basically one big love story with soap-opera storyline. Ironically, there is no hentai in the series but instead there's a slight touch of ecchi incorporated into some tastefully done love scenes (hehe - lots of tongue action!) The story is very gripping, and will stir you emotionally. The characters come to life as you get "eye-views" and "flashbacks" which have been put together so strategically and skillfully, it deserves a round of applause!

Overall, Kimi ga Nozomu Eien will leave a lasting impression upon its conclusion.

I really got taken away with this show. It was so well presented that I was unable to pull my attention away from it.
I would suggest to anyone who watches this to prepare themselves. Get a bowl of popcorn and set aside several hours of a day to sit down and be shocked over and over again, until you just can't take anymore.
I really didn't think this was going to end well at all. Then to my suprise it turned, then turned again to end not only satisfactorly, but fairly pleasent as well.
Not everybody gets what they want as characters, but everybody gets what they need.
Reality TV has nothing on this story, in fact this story could've been presented with real live actors, but I don't think it would've been quite as poignant.
I highly reccommend this series.

This anime's originality is unmatched, a great story that can stir up the emotion of many, not many romantic anime can match the story quite yet. The depth of the story and character traits are simply amazing, the kindness of Takayuki and the loyalty of Mitsuki who realizes Takayuki still had feelings for Haruka. Although it's not a humor anime, it did contain many funny scenes especially in the resturant Takayuki worked at, one of the waitress is just such a comic relief. Most anime lovers who are older (maybe 15+) will definitely enjoy this anime. It is not a very long anime but the story is very well linked together in each episode, every scene has a purpose and each episode you can see the development in each character.

This is the part where the anime completely and MISERABLY falls apart into the lackluster, overrated, and under-achieving piece of crap that I feel KGNE to be.

The characters are what really brings this anime down.

Takayuki - Can a character be more generic and boring than him? After watching KGNE, I doubt it. He has no personality, and he literally does... nothing. When something happens, you'd expect him to react in a certain way... but he doesn't. Yet at the same time, he's feeling all this guilt and taking in all of the blame. Now, I have to wonder...

this is a serious love story, it's also not for all ages. if you're into comedy, this is not for you, but i recommend this to everyone who likes a serious love story and everyone who has the same problem in love and in life! this is also i think a shoujo anime, but it doesn't hurt if a guy were to watch this anime! after all, i say it's a must watch! there's a part where Takayuki wants to do ecchi stuff with Haruka and Mitsuki that's why i said it's not for all ages! oh.. there's also this part when Mitsuki "raped" Takayuki and Shinji... that's why Takayuki fell in love with Mitsuki... can't help it...

Watch it, then watch it again. It`s the only way you can understand the emotional ride that this anime is showing. Episode 4 still makes me shed a tear, and the ending was just simply perfect.

KGNE was one of the most unique anime I've ever seen, and yes people keep comparing it to Maison Ikkoku with it's one guy and two girl set up, but KGNE was a short, concise, and emotional drama. Maison Ikkoku was too long and drawn out. Sure, KGNE had too many side characters, but it's focus on Haruka, Mitsuki and the dweeb Takayuki developed the characters wonderfully. I even shed a tear and two at the most intense scenes in episode 2 and the final episode. The ending was great, none of this pseudo happy happy ending. Everyone moves on in life.
