Weskalia's Gunslinger Girl Tv And Ova Review

Gunslinger Girl

Rated: 8

As a direct sequel, Il Teatrino couldn't grasp its predecessor's greatness. There are many things you shouldn't expect from watching it: the heartfell, understanding behind the girls' tragedies and relationships of their handlers, the impressive key visual and the follow-up complex in storytelling. To sum it up, Il Teatrino is a big step down from the original.

Still, devolution it may be, fans of the Gunslinger Girl series should give it a try despite these less improved aspects. The action is a lot more intriguing, Pinocchio, Triela and Jean give the series an overall continuity that the original lacked, allowing it to build a satisfying finale that overcomes its technical shortcomings.

AyanamiX's Gunslinger Girl Tv Review

Gunslinger Girl

Rated: 9

Not much humor at all. A lot of sympathy is demanded and it is always enjoyable unless you've already seen it a hundred times and are just watching it to pick up grammatical patterns. I heard about the game version of this but haven't tried unfortunately. The story sounds a bit like Inspector Gadget (believe it or not), as the little girls were next to death and are miraculously repaired with synthetic pieces (tansu ito (carbon fiber) pieces), and are then prepared for anti-criminal work that ironically goes against the very evils that have damaged them (at least for Henrietta and Triela). The Japanese really do make everything their own after all I guess. Carbon fiber by the way wouldn't have applicability to the circumstances of the girls.

Gunslinger Girl

MILD'n'MELLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW. That's all this anime was about (except for the gunfight scenes which only make up 10% of this anime and which were really nice), but don't get me wrong I still think this was a very original anime, but in some way it failed to give me any feeling of enjoyability. the end was very mild, and didn't make much sense......the anime in general didn't move me in any way. Even though it did bore me at times when I was watching, Gunslinger Girl had its moments, sometimes you can feel the longing of the girls to impress their "brothers", but that's all the whole anime was about.......the girls trying to impress their "brothers".

MadTeaParty's Gunslinger Girl Tv Review

Gunslinger Girl

Rated: 8

The anime certainly presents itself as something it isn’t initially, that is to say, girls with guns killing people and lots of action scenes. I was expecting something like another Noir, but with more girls and more killing. This really wasn’t the case. The anime was kind of presented like Noir and .hack put together. There wasn’t too much talking, but then again, there wasn’t superfluous action. Any scenes that were intense showed character and helped the girls shine. The anime really knows how to present action sequences at the right time, and for that, I give the makers credit.

I found the ability to enjoy the anime fairly high. One: it is fairly short (13 episodes) and there are no filler episodes. Two: You don’t see similar situations more than once.

Stormy001's Gunslinger Girl Tv Review

Gunslinger Girl

Rated: 9

The anime is incomplete, in the sense it only talks about Section 2 girls in detail. In tandem with manga continuity, the anime covers materials in Vol 1 and 2 with new Elsa story arc plus their own anime only wrap up. In manga story, the Republicans, main terrorist group is detailed in vol 3 and 4 as bunch of dedicated idealist who have their own code of honour and beliefs which not too different from Section 2 themselves.

The story focuses on relationship and connection between the girls and their respective controllers. Each individual was raised in accordance on how their respective controllers belief and personality. For example, Claes is raised in belief using physical force to solve matters, since her controller, Captain Ravallo believes in it too.

Neverknowsbesta's Gunslinger Girl Tv Review

Gunslinger Girl

Rated: 8

The concept is really original. I've never seen any show that dealt with the issues that this do. The action scenes are awesome(my favorite is the one in the second episode that involves Henrietta almost killing a waiter with a steak knife). The characters are so well developed and the situations are so intense that it's hard to stop watching. It's psychologically disturbing in the same way that Evangelion or Elfen lied is, but the added element of having these poor girls who have been horribly abused and brought back as a killing machine is something that is way, way different than anything I’ve seen in anime. It’s easy to look over the show because the animation isn’t very flashy or distinct, but the heart of the show, is still really interesting.
