Naruto tv Review

Once, a nine-tailed demon fox attacked Konoha, the Hidden Village of the Leaf. Many brave ninjas lost their lives defending their home. Finally, the demon was sealed by the Fourth Hokage into the body of a human boy. Several years later, that boy, Naruto Uzumaki, struggles to gain the acceptance and acknowledgement of the villagers, many of whom still hate him because of the demon inside him. So, Naruto strives to become the Hokage, the strongest ninja in the village, so that the villagers will acknowledge him. Along the way, he gains many new friends, and faces many life-threatening situations.

Story & Characters

a boy, borned orphaned, isolated and scorned by his entire village, konoha, for all of his childhood. now about to graduate from the ninja acadamy, uzumaki naruto (approx age 14 by the way) fails the exams. being told by the sympathetic teacher mizuki, that there was still a way to gradutate, to master the forbidden jutsus (techniques) stored deep in some forest. doing this, naruto has played himself into a trap, causing a village uproar. mizuki planned to steal the scroll with the teachniques and let naruto take the wrap. iruka, the teacher that reluctantly failed naruto, pursues naruto and tells him he was had, just before mizuki ambushes, and wounds iruka.
in a state of rage, mizuki tells naruto why he's been shunned by the village, (approx) 14yrs ago, a demon fox attacked the vilage and killed many, the hokage (the town's head, also the best ninja) defeated it only be sealing it into an infant (naruto) at the cost of his own life. the battle and loss still fresh in the minds of the parents of naruto's school peers, although made to promise never to tell naruto, treated naruto like dirt, with the upmost contempt and hatred, seeing the demon fox when they looekd at naruto, this attitude was passed passively onto the children, hence naruto's hard childhood.
naruto is a master prankster, gets bad grades and eats only ramen. but other than that, naruto knows empathy because of his childhood, he has an inncoent crush on a girl in his class named sakura, and he is determined to himself become hokage, and finally have the village aknowledge his existence.
naruto masters ONE technique from the scrolls, before the hubbub before iruka & mizuki arrived, "kage bunshin" the ADVANCED version of the technique that always caused him to fail exams. instead of making ghost clones (shadow binshin) naruto is able to make tangible apparations. naruto defeats mizuki by creating 1000 of these. iruka, seeing naruto had what it took to be a shinobi (basically ninja), passes him, and so follows naruto's adventure along with the 2 genins (level 1 shinobi) the hot mama sasuke and split personality sakura, this trio, forming the basis of the series.

not often i give 10 for story, but naruto is the best in terms of storylines, the episodes will pass like cars, before you know it, you'll be up to the lastest episode, which is 134 right now ^_^ this storyline IS NOT predictable, which is what i love most about it, and it is emazingly exciting and hooking!!

Rating: 10

Art

the art is excellent, the village, forest, all the aspects of the environment are also great. but the styles in characters gives the sense of different people (dun you hate it when every character looks the same) also. you've got ugly people, and your scream fanatically hotties, which is always a plus (dun you just hate it when everyone's so pretty, so much so it takes away the believable factor in the anime?)
not an anime you'll ever get sick of visually, what kills me is the beautiful haku! >,< who would make an unbelievably beautiful woman... if only haku wasnt a man... -_-
also i like how sometimes when shadow it at it's utmost darkest, the shadow is emphasized with lines, cross-hatching SOMETIMES, just like the manga

Rating: 9

Sound

the soundtrack is AMAZING, a rival to that of "bleach's" which is also amazing, but the opening and closing sequences are super-duper-well-done, though it kinda gets a little on the abstract side later on in the series, you'll know what i mean if you've seen it, though i still cant get over the 1st opening, that one sucked, lucky they didnt keep it too long, and then the 2nd opening was one of the best ones naruto has had yet XD gotta love the naruto music
even the music for during the series is great, unique, simple and it gives "naruto" the arty edge

Presentation

every facet of naruto is practically perfect, some people say it'll attain dragonball-status, but personally, i think it far outdoes dragonball, which gets really repititive like halfway. naruto is never boring and the story, as i said before, will knock your goddamn socks off and leave you wanting more, its THAT GOOD!

any anime with over 100 episodes must be doing something right, and naruto is at about 134 right now (12/6/05) and is still going strong, although not as much as it did at the start, its's probably 90% compared to the first 100 or so eps, but damn, thats still quite an achievement, the saga. episode #100 is one to remember forever, all i'll say is, go toilet before you watch and make sure you arent too heavily asthmatic, cos that episode would make darth vader piss himself. also, there are SO many characters to love and adore, nearly none are boring, some you'll remember forever (touch wood, haku ^_^")

it appeals to practically all ages and theres no stopping this anime, it's gonna go down in bloody history.

Final Verdict

I personally would not have given the anime such a high overall rating... reminds me just a little of Dragonballz, which I quite honestly mock with a passion. Luckily, this anime does at least outstrip that... well, to each his own, I suppose.

yeah, i dont think anyone WOULD put the time and effort into writing an honest review if they DIDN'T like the anime, as a reviewer i respect your opinion about naruto, but as a hardcore naruto fan, i say you're dreaming to think naruto isn't as great as I do, an i don't think the dragonball insult was very called for either, i say, if it makes it past 100 eps, it MUST be doin somethin right!

Yeah, i totally agree with all the naruto fans. I believe that what makes it such an awesome anime is that it doesn't cease to include Naruto's humour that is always very hilarious. Storyline is rather quite orginal and creative and i absolutely love its soundtrack. Always listen to them and never get bored.

Great Job on the reveiw, but what I like the most about it is the fact that its the best grade given to Naruto out of all the other reviews. Naruto rocks, because they gave me Rock Lee my favorite anime character of all time, and it does the same for everyone who watches it in terms of giving them someone that they can connect with. :)

Naruto is my favorite anime series, but I recognize that Dragon Ball is a masterpiece in the anime world, Naruto still lacks something to be the best anime

Yea! This is a great show! Not my favorite anime but it is up there! I was actually on the bandwagon for the dragonball z thing until I read this review, there is obviously something working for the show to have over 100 episodes (Im on 160 sumthin'). Anyway this is a very popular anime and I cant wait for more. But two things.
1: Is it true that Japan has over 500 of these episodes?
2: How is cartoon network going to censor some of the main parts of the story that are not intended for young children... I cant wait to see Lee's drunken fist, and what about Tsunade... cartoon network has some editing to do (hahaha!)

I'm not sure what you mean by 500 of "these" episodes. But there certainly has been a lot of complaining over how Naruto had been shop-sueyed to produce the English dub, they obviously also to make a lot of changes, like in the use of jutsu names! They would also have to censor all of the blood, and sexy-no-jutsu needed to be a little less sexier XD Those are all I can think of, but you get the idea.

Totally, agreeing ^_^ Naruto is so good!

  18. sarahzdominator Nov 02, 2006

    NARUTO IS AWESOME!
It also goes in depth with all the medical stuff and has a great elaborate plot. The drawings are alot better than Dragonballz especially since Naruto is drawn a bit more realistically (not really but) and has a sense of maturity (even though it does get immature) since they like draw out the lips and nose in the right positions unlike Rumiko Takahashi's drawings, where she melds the nose and mouth together, so that when looked at the side, it looks a bit like a snout. ayy it's been so many years in production, and Naruto's still going strong XD
