Aizu tv Review
Despite being a person who has an extremely hard time talking to girls, Ichitaka Seto has developed a big crush on one of his school's most popular students, Yoshizuki Iori. But all is not lost, for Yoshizuki Iori also has a crush on Ichitaka Seto.
Two big questions remain: will they discover each others' feelings in time? If so, will they be able to survive the ups and downs of a relationship after high school?
Story & Characters
Masakazu Katsura tells us a very romantic story full of sexual fantasies, crazy friends and lots of humour.
Ichitaka Seto, a boy with who is terribly afraid of women, is very much in love with a bautyfull girl called Iori
Yoshisuki. he must overcome this fear is order to fulfill his dream. for this, he has the aid of an army of crazy
friends and a lot of girls who want to be seto's one and only.
Ichitaka's fear comes from the fact that he was rejected by a girl in third grade, now, whenever he wants to talk
to the girl he loves, he says completely the opposite of what he means.
Katsura mixes you in the plot untill you don't really know if the situations you see are real of a product of
Ichitaka's imagination. And at the end of the story we find out that some of the romantic bonds are not as we
though they would be at the beginning.
full of suspense, romance, and humour, "Is" has one of the best plots ever seen in manga. although it looses a
little spice in the recently presented anime.

Art
Katsura is a great artist as he has showed his fans in all his previous works.
Unlike other artists like Katsushiro Otomo (Akira) or Masami Kurumada (Saint Seiya, Beta X) he has an incredible
hability to draw beautifull girls. And this without the necesity of taking away all their human features (by this I mean
the use of purple hair or giant eyes). Whatsmore, the expretions he give to each character depending of the mood and
thoughts are very well thought.
Not to mention the backgrounds he draws for each scene, absolutely fascinating and full of tiny details.

Sound
I really didn't pay much attention to it. probably beacuse I liked the manga more that the actual anime where the characters and their individual stories loose their flavour.howerver I would have chose singer like Maaya Sakamoto for the opening. And a lot of piano solos for the romantic scenes. I must wach it again and listen carefully to the score before I jump to further conclutions. But we must keep in mind that previous works by Mazakazu Katsura like "Video Girl Ai" had excelent sountracks, it will be hard to make this one even better.

Presentation
Masakazu Katsura surprises us again this well thought shonen in which he shows that his drawing and story telling are
absolutelly marvelous. Like in "Video girl Ai" he once again defines perfectly the escense of each caracter
showing their unique personality and it's evolution through the story. It is a beautyfull and romantic story I
recomend to those who loved series like "Ah! megamisama" or "If I see you in my dreams".
I must highlight the fact that he ends each chapter with a moment of tension and suspense, and just when the story seem
to be tiring you, he manages to bring up a new and fascinating character.
IS is a great romantic comedy and together with "Ranma 1/2" (from Rumiko Takahashi) are great for convincing
non anime fans into this gender. I personally have convinced a lot of friends who hated and menospretiated anime with
this tipe of mangas, beacuse the story isn´t complicated and many of us, and them, feel represented in each
character.
I strongly recomend everyone to read this manga spetially to boy's tired of shojos like Fushigi Yuugi and DNAngel
with two girls, five hundred male characters and a story that wouldn`t even fit in your wildest dreams. I'S has a
realistic plot, with realistic characters that react at each situation as you an me would do...
Now stop reading this review and go buy this manga! I swear you´ll enjoy it!
