Cowboy Bebop

Cowboy Bebop tv Review

In the semi-distant future, bounty hunters have become a major reality. Cowboy Bebop follows the crazy antics of two bounty hunters named Spike Spiegel and Jet Black. Throughout the anime they come across many odd faces of bounties and even some friends.

By the middle of the series, the Bebop - the ship Jet owns as an HQ for his team - is filled not only with Jet and Spike, but Faye Valentine, a beautifully dangerous bounty hunter, and Ed, a crazy 9-year-old tomboy master hacker. Throughout the 26 episodes and one movie (that takes place between episodes 24 and 25) the Bebop crew go through many bounties and crazy adventures just to scrounge around for some type of income to keep them alive.

Bebop is an anime for the people who love comedy mixed with great action and drama.

Story & Characters

oOo.. cowboy bebop.. joy.. if you havent seen this.. i recommend it.. some regard it to be their favorites.. and others just quality anime.. its the journey of space bounty hunters.. ok.. so the premise isnt fantastic.. but its better than it sounds.. though enjoyable.. it is slow to pick up.. and there doesnt seem to be a definate plot direction.. rather a series of events covered up to look like a story.. there seems to be no sound connection from episode to episode.. but does there really need to be one?.. each episode is pleasant to watch.. though the series might be a little slow to pick up for some of you out there.. things get interesting when faye and ed join the bebop crew.. you laugh.. you cry.. but the last 4 or so episodes of the series are among my favorite in all of anime.. this doesnt mean theyre out of this world great.. because i like them for specific reasons and i put them in high regard.. still.. very good stuff... and who good forget the shroom episode?.. funny funny... a word about the movie... the story isnt fantastic.. but the plot is solid.. it is definately worth your time.. the replay value in my opinion isnt special.. but i do like to watch the action scenes over and over... dont get me wrong.. im not by any means an action crazed man.. but thats what stands out in the movie...

Art

I thought the art was pretty exceptional when I saw it. The coloring isnt vibrant, but it definately fits the mood of the series. The animation is great and the action sequences are pretty well done, especially when spike fights ppl and kicks some major butt.. =P... i watched the downloaded ones and the quality was good, but questionable.. im sure the dvd is much better and the bebop movie has some fantastic animation. Back to the series... the background is lively.. people actually moving and talking and doing things in the backgfound.. impressive ey?.. not relli.. but its definately a plus...

Sound

The first thing you might notice about this series is the choice of music.. some people might not regard it as absolutely stunning.. but it does its job.. I particularly like how all the music goes together though.. Its not to hard to notice the theme.. its very hip.. in a 70's open mic night kinda way... i especially like the farewell track (for those who havent seen it i wont spoil it for u) call me call me.. the voiced are well done.. and i saw maybe one episode of it dubbed.. it wasnt too bad.. usually i am repulsed by dubbing.. (dragon ball z for instance).. but it was tolerable.. and that says a lot.. and I did not see ed dubbed.. and shudder at the thought.. ill pass on that for now.. and the sound effects for battle scenes were very good too...

Presentation

You may not like the particular mood cowboy bebop sets.. (most people i know do like it however).. but you have to admit that it is very good at setting that mood.. no?.. as for originality.. i hardly can think bounty hunting theme is all that original.. but it is cool... as i mentioned earlier.. the humor is slow to pick up.. and even when it does its a subtle humor.. ed for instance.. the comic relief in the form of silly slapstick fun somehow does not look out of place in the show.. she seems to be in her own world.. but the transition from silly to serious seems pretty fluid... This series is highly enjoyable.. and i was going to give it a 9.. but i will give it a slightly lower grade for the following reasons: 1)the story does not progress.. and seems to make leaps. 2)it is slow to pick up. Though i give you the two reason.. it does not do my opinion justice.. because in my opinion.. although it does not have the most intriguing start up.. its sets up a genuine atmosphere that you come to enjoy. Also, though there is no progressing story, but rather a series of short stories it seems, there stilla re clues and hints to the direction of the show, and who says there needed to be one fluid story? I highly recommend this series. If you dont like it, sue my friends mother.

sort of bland of a review, more opinions than actually pointing out the reasoning as to why you recommend this anime so much, it's not a bad review though.

Sort of a simple review, but it has a decent start to it. Good job.
