Shinobuden tv Review
Story & Characters
"Nininga Shinobuden" has no real plot. It basically revolves around a girl's life who trains herself in a
special ninja mansion to become a true ninja in the future. Where the fun point is? It melts both modern and traditional
cultures which creates very amusing scenes from the beginning to the end. Indeed, on her training, the heroine Shinobu
meets a girl from the modern Japan side, Kaede, who will quickly become her new friend. With her funny ninja companions
Sasukes, she will encounter various difficulties, enjoy Christmas time or discovers hidden secrets and stories related
to the place she lives in! All along the episodes, you will follow Shinobu's daily life and learn the secret art of
ninjutsu. XD As far as the characters are concerned, Shinobu's a bit gullible but cute. Her friend Kaede is here
for the spectator to remind the serie occurs in the modern times. All the Sasukes are funny like HELL and her perverted
"master" Onsokumaru is annoying and weird but ends quite attaching. ;P

Art
The art style is pretty unusual for once. It's very bouncy, colorful and bubbly. At first, you rather think
it's the art style that fits magical girl series or shoujô series in general but it's not in Shinobuden. If I
could quote another serie which has a similar style I'd say "Popotan". In general, it's all about
making the characters cute (even Onsokumaru ~(°3°)~)! The animation ain't that great but it's not a major
point for that humoristic serie. Sometimes, I even believe it's quite cheap but all in all it's pretty ok.

Sound
The OP and ED are like best. They announce the theme of the serie right away and make you all happy-go-lucky when you
listen to them: "Ichi ni san shi agareta hen de, bucchake bucchake shippai ippai~". The bgms you can hear
through the series fits perfectly for each scenes. They reflect well the classical ninja cry
"oooooooooooiiiiiiiiiiii~ *dom dom*". In fact, it really makes you feel and dive into the atmosphere of the
serie. And a very famous voice actor has been used for that serie! Guess who? Tomokazu Seki san~ is Sasukes'
voices! xD; Note that Shinobu's voice is also Yuufa's voice from "Ragnarok The Animation".

Presentation
In terms of originality, this serie gets a 10/10. It's very well thought! Basing humor on a mix of traditional and
modern culture into Japan has never been done before (or not that I know of). As far as humor is concerned, seriously,
it makes me laugh each time I watch it and re-watch it. I made my boyfriend watched it and advised it to my brother too
and I must admit I was myself advised this serie by a friend of mine lol. This serie is made as much for guys as for
girls, althought I'd say it's more for guys for the "sometime" poo-poo/ecchi humor but I think it
fits well into the genre and doesn't outstand as a bad point. In other words, it's really enjoyable for any
girls who have a common sense of humor, eh. Shinobuden jokes don't require a particular knowledge of the typical
manga humor: you have a lot of eastern references too ("the day after tomorrrrow~"). The serie is rather short
(13 episodes) but it doesn't need more. No need to think hard to understand this serie, laugh will do!

I have to admit, Onsokumaru is probably the most perverted character since the introduction of Onizuka from GTO XD Great
review ashe~ Shinobuden is outrageously hillarous, every episode made me laugh to the point of tears ^^
Though i don't mind the episodic nature of the series, it would be nice to see some sort of story arc in the end...
I mean they did point out some sort of mystery within shinobu in episode 6 (and the OP has some pretty cool fight scenes
with who could be a 'dark shinobu' ^^ nyaa~ though only time will tell....
