10-year-old Sakura Kinomoto returns home from a typical day at school, after having a mysterious dream about a book that morning, and hears strange noises coming from her basement, where her father's library is. Upon investigating, Sakura stumbles upon the magical book of The Clow, and breaks its magical seal. Inside of the book, she finds a stack of cards, known as Clow Cards. She accidentally scatters the cards after she says the word "Windy", the name of the first card she picks up.
When the wind dies down, a small yellow creature named Cerberus rises from the book. He introduces himself as the guardian of the Clow Cards, and Sakura, upon scattering them, has woken him up. He tells Sakura that she must now gather all of the Clow Cards to prevent a certain catastrophe from happening. The story begins here, and with the help of Kero-chan (Cerberus's nickname), and Sakura's best friend Tomoyo Daidouji (who videotapes all of Sakura's adventures and makes all of her costumes), Sakura sets out on her journey to collect all the Clow Cards. Along her way she meets new friends, new enemies, and many challenges.
Story & Characters
Cardcaptor Sakura is my favourite anime series. The story is so original and some of the characters were just so
adorable you really can't help but like them. Sakura Kinomoto is a normal ten-year-old until she finds the book of
The Clow and accidentally scatters all the cards except one. If it wasn't already bad enough Sakura manages to get
tricked into becoming the cardcaptor by the guardian of the Clow cards, Kerberos. Sakura is an adorable little character
who can sometimes be a bit dense but oh well... that makes her even more cute if i'm not mistaken! Sakura is easily
scared of any sort of mention of monsters and ghosts and has to overcome those fears in order to capture the cards. This
story has a kind of realistic quality to it even if it is an anime series mostly because of the emotions shown, the
personalities, the situations, etc in which we can all refer to in our own way. I really liked the idea of cards
containing the different kinds of abilities like The Song and The Jump and natural elements like The Windy, The Earthy,
The Watery, etc. I admit, i thought some of the cards were pretty random like The Erase, The Move, The Float, etc. but
still i really enjoyed watching it and i'm sure others will too!

Art
The artwork in this anime were constant and unique where others had crude drawings then really detailed ones. Cardcaptor
Sakura has a mixture of both and gives all the characters their individuality and personalities. I especially like the
designs of the cards and their makings, costumes, colour, etc. I really like Sakura's costumes because they made
her look so cute! but then some of them were just a bit too frilly and there were sometimes way too many bows but hey, i
guess it suits her (shrugs). Otherwise, the artwork was really satisfying.

Sound
The music in the anime was really...girly yes that's the word but i think it suited the theme of the anime because
the anime is generally for girls (not that im saying boys can't watch it, coz my brother loves it ^-^). The voices
really suited the characters thought i thought Yukito's voice was really weird since someone told me it was a
girl's voice and so was Kero-chan's though that only makes him cuter ^-^. Sakura and Tomoyo's voice
really suited them and their personalities though if you think about it, it sounds like a 4-year-old's voice rather
than a 10-year-old's but i guess that's to make them sound more kawaii which i admit, worked. At times, the
music suited the situations that Sakura is in and makes me feel the concept of what Sakura is feeling and this makes the
anime kind of realistic as well.

Presentation
Cardcaptor Sakura was really appealing for me because the story is really original and i liked the mixed genres like
comedy (it definitely was funny), fantasy and romance. It really made me laugh when Sakura and Syaoran both acted really
strange in front of Yukito, especially Syaoran when he tries to impress Yukito and gives him gifts. I don't really
understand the relationship between Yukito and Touya though... are they just friends or something more??? I also really
liked Tomoyo with er obsession with filming Sakura coz it adds a funny touch to serious situations. But something really
bothers me though... Sakura is only 10 and she already admits that she loves Syaoran (sorry for the spoiler) and the
whole blushing and awkward moments really startled me and i'm only 15! Oh well... i guess i shouldn't really
place logical stuff with anime but i can't help coz i'm a practical person. Anyway i think the romance was
sweet touch to the fantasy genre and i really enjoyed watching it.
