Plot Synopsis

No plot synopsis or other information available for Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru

Story & Characters

Otome wa boku ni koishiteru is quite an entertaining story. It is something that comes out of a blue- instead of having a male character surrounded by a harem girls, why not have a male dresssed as a female enter a girl school? And so we are presented with pseudoyuri fun. We are presented with a person who we should envy, but instead of envying we look on him with a degree of sympathy. Na, we are presented with a male character who we can mock and laugh at his situation. The first few episodes do just that establishing the laugh factor. Gradually, the story becomes a bit serious with the characters yukari-chan and kana-chan and maria\'s love and confusion, but the story remains entertaining thanks to maria and takako. I give this story a rating of seven because to me it only presents seven out of ten for funny entertainment as opposed to suzumiya haruhi no yuutsu, which gives me ten-point of entertainment along its story line.
seven when considered in light of suzumiya haruhi no yuutsu which gets a ten- 2 points for originality

Art

I believe the art is first rate. Compare with love hina, it can stand on its own although the art style is quite different. The art ocassionally presents the new chibi style, which I think is quite funny when employed. I think the chibi style makes the strong emphasis where it is funny and is fit for the ocassion. The art, however, can not compare with suzumiya haruhi no yuutsu, which shows superb artwork with its 3D CG. But I like the artwork above those of suzumiya haruhi no yuutsu- I mean I like the drawing of the girls and miyanokoji mizuho( who is the male ). The girls are more mature looking-more like teenage girls- compared to suzumiya haruhi no yuutsu and personally more cute.

Sound

The sound system is that calm song that is probably typical of every love song-I mean the melody is the song that flow. I think it is quite a good one but a bit too limited. The seiyuu are good. The seiyuu for miyanokoji mizuho-san is yuri horie-san( at least I think that is her name). She did quite a good job and moans for the viewers in the opening of the first episode( it is a moan not that type of moan). Her voice acting is good and provokes the emotional response to the viewers. The other seiyuus are also good with their acting.
Kana-chan voice actor has somehow managed to act out perfectly according to kana\'s cuteness. Maria is great character to act out as she goes from different extremes of emotion and the voice actor has managed to do all that according to her personallity. Takako has that ojoosama voice and so does shion. The high pitched takako is the exact voice for a tsundere like her.

Presentation

I have already mentioned the enjoyability and the humor in my previous write-up for art, sound and story. The humor is pseudoyuri so please don\'t watch the show if you are offended by any sexually-related content.
The ending of the show is ambiguous- who is going to finally end up with mizuho-san - Takako and maria seem the only two likely to end up with mizuho but who? Yet I didn\'t watch the show for a typical harem so frankly I don\'t care who end up with himl. I watched the show because I like the art work and like the sexual-related contents eg. fanservice, humor- the humor exceeds any fanservice in this show.
It isn\'t like lovehina with its crude sense of humor. One will get tired of all the positions they get into.
Enjoyability is overall nine. Ten for suzumiya haruhi no yuutsu.
The characters are also worthy some credit. The second uniqueness of this harem is that it includes a ghost in the harem-ichikochan, who is not in any way ghost like. The other character that I enjoy is kei-san with her ability to suprise and quite a dark personality. Maria-san is also quite an entertainment -she presents us with the non-sexual jokes. Even shion, who is the quiet ojoosama type suprises us with ocassions that will make us laugh. She is like
ohimesan from love hina with the unintended humor.

One thing sticks out above all when it comes to this review, and that is all the comparisons you make. Personal opinion of course, but you should grade a show based on it's own merits instead of basing it off of previous experiences. Making mention of a show as it relates to this show is one thing, but grading it off of a benchmark previously set by another show is unfair. I've seen nearly 100 anime series and if I based every single show off of another show that 'epitomizes' that genre, then I'd end up with low scores all the time. Review a show as if it is the first anime you've ever watched because who knows, that may be the first anime a person reading your review ever watches.

A very funny anime, quite classical in a way. I watched it since i love school anime, and i saw some nice screenshots on 4chan ^^
I enjoyed it, it's funny and well made. My favorite characters are Tatako-san, Maria and Kana-chan :D
The anime deserves a 8/10. (i'm planning to buy the ed single btw^^)

Its sounds quite intresting. I wanna watch.

Yeah I agree..this one is one of the unique love, school life anime I ever seen out of my collections...The char development is gradual and stable + they exploit every corner of difficulties living as a girl when u're actually a guy...
Definitely 9/10 and the OP ED is goddamn nice too..make it 9.5/10 ;D

I'm interested in this series after I read your review. think I'll go and search it.
