Ephemeral-Garden's Yakitate!! Japan Tv Review

Yakitate!! Japan

Rated: 9

The presentation makes you feel like you're watching Ranma 1/2 - as if there's no end to the anime. It's actually very hard to picture how would Yakitate! Japan actually ended.

Yakitate! Japan, in overall, is great. Moderate music, moderate art, but a huge amount of puns and jokes and useful knowledges on baking bread sum up to how Yakitate! Japan is. The humour is all over the place, we get to see Japan prefectures' special localities, we get to see how to bake all kinds of bread. This anime actually shows how does it feels like to be a baker, and might be a very good use for those who aspires to be a future baker. Well, if you're not, then mostly likely the hilarious puns and parodies will make you fall in love with the anime.

Yakitate!! Japan

Rated: 8

The title itself is a pun and this anime is dominantly comedic, however for non-japanese speakers a lot of its natural beauty may be lost as the puns, humour and cultural references used continuously throughout often play with Japanese language and culture, this is also good news for the anime purists as a translated dub seems highly unlikely. The humour itself is often cliched and there is a lot of repetition of biting the bread scenes along with their 'reactions', however although the same idea is overused, the method of approach is unique each time resulting is constant outbreaks of laughter.

Revontulet's Yakitate!! Japan Tv Review

Yakitate!! Japan

Rated: 10

I might have covered this already but it's highly original! I have never seen a series like this! It's so bizzare how bread can be so dramatic and interesting! Only a true genious can make bread interesting. The humour is so cute and there is just so much, but i think it is a bit hard to understand the full extent of the jokes and wittiness of this show if you don't have a background or good japanese cultural/language (it would be hard to pick up on all the puns-unless the subbers are really good). Its not just all laughter in this anime though. There are some parts where you feel very sympathetic to an issue or character.
