Nismosis' To Heart Tv And Manga And Game Review

To Heart

Rated: 7

The overall execution of To Heart was done fairly well for it's genre and the series now serves as a staple for other series of the same. While the first season is now well dated, it is still an excellent series for any romance fan. The artwork was executed fairly well for it's time but the "bulgy" style had my eye quirked at some points. The second season fixed this problem quite well tho. The full blend of cute music and attractive artwork functioned well together with the life-style drama of the anime. As stated before, this anime is a little slower than the traditional series but the simplicity only adds to the series charm. The only thing I'd really like to see from To Heart would be a definite closure.

Elm's To Heart Tv Review

To Heart

Rated: 8

The series handles it's unbelievable aspects with a sensibility and is surprisingly realistic, there seems nothing particularly amazing about witches robots and psychics and world class martial artists, and that is largely in the way the series approaches them, they aren't intended to be fantastic qualities they are just something some people possess, as an inherent result or by interest. Hiroyuki's lack on interest in the world helps to create that as well.
The series is peculiar in that it has some outstanding merits, particularly atmosphere, and character design and personality, for its ends, but perhaps in a different context they could be observed as lacking any distinguishable quality, that is if you compared them to modern anime.

Hrist's To Heart Tv Review

To Heart

Rated: 4

There's not a whole lot of humor in ~Remember my Memories~; it's clearly meant as a drama. It's too bad though, because as a drama it mostly falls flat, and a little humor might have helped it along. What attempts at humor there are don't work so well, although a few truly humorous bits slip in there.

Honestly, though, as a whole, this show just doesn't work. It's trying to be a slice of life show, but generally those work for one of two reasons: Because the character development is superb, or because it is fantastically funny (a la Azumanga Daioh). Unfortunately, To Heart ~Remember my Memories~ has lackluster character development and isn't intended to be funny.
