SnickerdoodleNinja's The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi Tv Review

The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi

Rated: 4

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is an original show with an original premise and painfully unoriginal humor, despite the fact that it presents itself as a comedy. Considering that the series revolves around the supernatural, the sky was the limit in terms of originality and possibility. Actually, not even the sky was the limit-provided the creators had the originality, anything was possible for Kyon and his friends-which just makes it that much more depressing that the series settles for fan-service humor and filler episodes such as the typical baseball outing without providing enough of a twist to make them memorable.

The show was borderline-amazing making me laugh, feel awkward, question my religion, and even (to my great surprise) dance. The humor is fresh and doesn't go overboard with the awkwardness. I recommend this show most definitely.

The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi

This anime...well, although in some parts funny, it couldn't keep the laugh coming. So, I have to say that although I could feel it trying to be funny, it did not perform. Unfortunately, this good show has to be given a 4 for its humor.

Although, on the the whole, it was enjoyable...the "Novel" feel really made it hard to watch. It's on thing to actually read a novel, but another to sit there and WATCH it. I have to say that I give it a 6 for enjoyability.

If you actually managed to make it through the first few episodes, you might have actually gotten to the concept, whih is rather bluntly stated by not one or two of the characters, but THREE of them! Talk about wanting to drive that one home! So for a clear concept, I will factor a small modifier to my final calculation.

A great roller coaster ride. The humour present made me laugh myself off my chair many times, especially in the computer blackmailing incident. Although the scientific explanations Nagato, Itsuki and Mikuru provides kills a few brain cells, one could tell that the producers were already trying their best to simplify it for us viewers, so it's not their fault, hahas.

I thoroughly enjoyed every momeny I spent watching Haruhi Suzumiya no Yuutsu. Yet another charm of the series was the fact that it's aired in anachronological order, so it gives the viewers a type of suspense and thrill.

This anime ability to be different from other animes of the season due to unsual setting and technical mastery of the Kyoto Animation. The anime also make sure of its success by using all popular character stock to catch anime fans attention and popular memes like bunny girl costume to make anime fans happy. However, the anime decided to be episodic madness and did not really try to address the impasse between Haruhi and Kyon can frustating to some viewers. Someone complained that anime resolution is a pathetic ponytail hair which really did not push the story anywhere at all. As I mentioned in my comment, the anime appeal is Haruhi's impasse and inability to solve her issues then she decided to make her environment responsible for her dissatisfaction of her life.

The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi

Rated: 7

Haruhi is an entertaining enough show to watch, but it lacks those things that truly make it worthy of high praise. There are quite a few moments where you'll laugh uncontrollably, which is sometimes hard to find in the hit or miss comedy world of anime. And while the plot twist presented early on does prove to be rather intriguing, it loses it's steam quickly and doesn't really ever come to fruition. It seems that they had a solid idea when making it, but didn't really know how to properly execute when it came crunch time.

This show does have many things that will make it beloved among many viewers. Great characters and hillarious character interactions. Some well executed humor and over the top antics.

This anime can be closely associated with the likes of School Rumble. Original, hilarious, yet doesn't make much sense.

The story seems to skip around sometimes, but it's still not that hard to understand.

I don't think theres a real audience that this anime tries to target. As for myself, I would give full marks for enjoyability.

As a last note, the first episode of the anime has got to be the most random thing I have ever seen. It's a movie clip that the Club made themselves, though it's shown before the Club has been created. The movie is so bad, that it is kind of funny, I guess. If you're not too sure about this anime, please watch Episode two first, at least, before judging this anime.
