Milkiyo's Samurai Champloo Tv Review

Samurai Champloo

Rated: 8

Samurai Champloo has serious and exciting martial arts but overall it can be quite comical as well.

There are 26 episodes altogether along with multiple flashbacks. The flashbacks may be a little bit confusing at first but as the story evolve, it becomes more meaningful. This gives off a good effect of suspense and also makes you feel that you are part of the story as well.

It was also directed by Shinichiro Watanabe of Cowboy Bebop so there may be a bit of resemblance in both the shows. However, the concept of this anime is very much enjoyable that sometimes it will leave you craving for more. Pretty addictive.

Samurai Champloo passes off as an enjoyable anime overall though it lacks in certain moral aspects that it must fulfill if it ever wanted to be a family video.

Samurai Champloo

Everyone comments on how crazy this anime is, and Samurai Champloo's greatest point is just that. With its unbelievable flow, the anime is able to focus on the main point of the show to find the sunflower samurai, yet create distractions within the show that makes it so fun. Every episode is an adventure, and the unique aspects make it something unforgettable. Within its action-packed body, Samurai Champloo gives themes of friendship, loyalty, love, and pain.
One flaw that I found was of the ending of some inner stories, where new important characters came out. Some were hardly relevant to the main theme, and sometimes ended abruptly, like there was no time left in the episode to make a proper closure.

This is what really blows you away! the presentaion is more creative than any other show. Like I said, it brings a graffiti look which adds stlye to the series, and also brings in a "DJ" type transition when it switches to different scenes. Especially the fighting. You'll be very excited when the fighting happens. But get me wrong. The show is not always serious. In fact most of the time its more funny than serious( kinda like episode 23. had me laughing!!!)! Mugen doesnt always do things the right way, which makes it humorous. Including Jin, he doesnt always get away with logic and laid back stlye, which makes it even more humorous like "I was waiting for Jin to mess up on somthing lol!" Theres also mild sexual content.

Samurai Champloo sure is original. Nothing exactly like it. When I heard of this show I thought of Samurai Jack but I was wrong. The art is incredible. Music is almost the same. It's still a very hip-hop sort of thing. What was different was that Samurai Champloo was: Funnier, more original, far more enjoyable (Sorry, Jack), lots of swearing, blood (lots of it), a little tiny bit less action, drug content (Not much), Sexual content (pretty high if you ask me), it's pretty ecchi (I mean a woman or a few more than you think almost get naked in that show and you almost see it too)! No game for Samurai Champloo. I wish they'd make one though. Just a fighting game like Tekken 5. This series, so far for me, was the most enjoyable to watch. It's just so cool.

Everything combined together makes for a crazy slow yet fast paced, happy yet in a crazy way series. I would watch it just because it's so crazy. The story is somewhat lacking just because of everything else that's going on in the series and an inadequate development. A lot of unanswered questions and cliff hangers that never are resolved. This is also a series to watch just for fun, some deep moments, but overall an enjoyable thing that doesn't cause a lot of thinking. But some parts you might just think about it lot because it was so strange that you have to do a double-take. The story is set in Edo-period Japan but it might as well have been modern Tokyo with swords.

The flow of this show was great. In some situations the story seems slow and can pull away from the “Sunflower samurai too soon, but the plot in between is anything but filler. The side-stories were still interesting and kept your attention. For all the intense action involved in this story, a lot of humor becomes of this twisted relationship between all three characters. The character interactions were hilarious and brought some relief when the everything got heavy. It was also interesting to see each of the characters lives and backgrounds become unraveled. All three characters have deep ties to the past and this allows for interesting turns in the plot. Yet what really grabbed my attention was the sheer amount of trouble that they could get into in a mere couple episodes.

This anime is like a piece of many histories in one, its nice to see an anime like that. Very original in a default samurai history (a girls search for someone) this anime have surprised me making me a fan ^ ^ maybe I will make a cosplay of Jin but I am afraid the people will confuse me with any Peace Maker or Rurouni Kenshin character hehehe In other waill Mugen seems like a mix of One Piece and Cowboy Bebop resulting in a nice character with a impulsive style.
