Hisakata793's Kyou Kara Maou Tv Review

Kyou Kara Maou

Rated: 8

One of the better animes I have seen in such a long time! To others it may not seem that wonderful, but the relationships between the characters is beautiful. One of the main things I noticed about this anime is its humor.. I can come up with no words to describe it, but the humor is.. special.. lol It made me laugh plenty of times, a complete, real laugh. Even with all of this humor added in it had its moments where I soaked my pillow in tears, when an anime can make me laugh so hard my stomach hurts and yet also make me cry so terribly. Something had to be done right. ^_^ I loved how well the transitions between a serious event with deep details went to a light and comedy episode after too much deepness.

What kind of image comes to mind at the mention of "bishounen"? Is it wispy, effeminate young males casting lustful glances at each other? Long-haired, tragic heroes gazing into the distance as flurries of flower petals swirl around them? Stacks of Prince of Tennis doujinshi exploring every possible permutation between the characters?

How about a goofy fantasy-comedy where the lead character is so clueless, he accidentally gets engaged in Episode 2?

That's exactly what happens when an enraged Yuri, unaware of local customs, strikes pretty boy Wolfram with a slap of proposal. Sure, there's a straight-up fantasy story about Demon-human conflict as well, but the real reason this show exists is to poke fun at the genre and revel in "boy's love" innuendo.

The story elements of KKM are that of a parody. Every character in this show parodies or is meant to be a generic character to the extreme... It looks like your generic "Hero sent to another world to Save the day" story, but it's not. Instead of being a Holy Warrior, he's a Demon King, instead of defeating demons he's to defeat humans. All of his retainers are different stereotypical bishounen and the women of the castle are very wild and controlling. It's a very fun story that works with all of the general cliches you'd see in a fantasy anime and make them into something you wouldn't expect... or at least, Yuuri doesn't suspect XD. This show likes to turn the most minor insignificant character you encounter into a useful player later in the show.

Over all its a recommended anime to see. With the humor and the main story line and also some suspend, can be said that this is one Great anime. Although there's not much action or not much romantic-scene, i sure wont miss any of the episode. Each character has their own personnality n different expression to show. Some part really make me think that why we are having wars even we are the same human and as we moved on each character reveal their own story n their past. You are slowly introduced to the characters and also more n more problems faces Yuuri as he become the Ma-ou(Demon king). I can say that i like Gunther, he is the most funny n crazy but a cool guy(when he is fighting only). Most of the humor part comes with Gunther like in one of the episode where he become a doll.

I enjoy watching this anime. It has good amount of humor in between, especially when Yuuri unknowingly propose to Wolfram and said that he is not going to take it back without knowing what he has done. Scenes between Wolfram and Yuuri is best humor scenes in this anime, seeing how Wolfram tried to keep Yuuri away from cute gals or guys as he is Yuuri's 'fiancee'. Another good humor is supplied by Gunter who constantly day dream and wrote in his diary all his feelings for Yuuri. The character development is also quite good, especially the main character, Yuuri, which changed from a cowardly to a responsible Maou.

For an anime that has a plot of a character getting sucked into another world, you would think that "been there, seen fushigi/juuni". You cannot be anymore wrong. Originality is one of the reasons why this anime has so many fans. Also, there are too many shounen-ai hints for it to be shoujo, which makes me wonder why hasn't this been classified as BL. In the second episode, Yuuri gets engaged to another guy and the occasional ~moments~ between Yuuri and the other characters make you wonder who would he look good with. Even for those who would avoid this anime for this reason alone, the comedy is another good reason for it to become a favourite. From the first episode, the main character, Yuuri, keeps us amused with his dry sense of humour and his occasional slow-wittedness.

Tama-Neko's Kyou Kara Maou Tv Review

Kyou Kara Maou is a comedy. It's nothing special, and the subject matter may turn off a lot of viewers. In fact, I consider it one of my guilty pleasures. It's a bit of a train-wreck of a series, yet I keep watching it, because it always makes me laugh (even if it's because the show is so absurd I can't believe they'd do something like that.) Someone, despite all the craziness, I found I really do want to know what happens to all these characters, although I'm worried it won't resolve anything in the end like so many other train-wreck shows.
