Kingdom Hearts isn't a failure. I can't say it's a home runner either. It's simply an idea gone wrong and certain turns. Or it's just an idea that made sense on paper, but producer's eyes were covered with a blindfold. SE didn't see anything beyond a catchy tune, a plot that sounds nice, and Disney characters.
Personally, I got addicted when I first got the game, and then it got unaddictive right after I finished it(About 2
days, and usually it should be close to a week or so before the game is finished)
It's about 48 hours of gameplay(If you skip through all the worlds pretty quickly), but if you are a perfectionist,
then it would probably take about a week to get everything. And you know what? AFTER YOU GET EVERYTHING, THE GAME IS
POINTLESS TO PLAY.

I would first like to say one thing... this game is easy. In fact it is borderline very easy. I played on Pride Mode (the hardest mode available) as soon as I got the game. It's not that I was cocky, but I figured that I might as well do it on the hardest difficulty so that if I didn't like the game that much, I wouldn't have to play it again. Even still, on the hardest mode it is still really easy. You'll die from cheap shots during normal battles, but surprisingly bosses can never kill you. You may get killed by a boss, but lo and behold if that happens, King Mickey can come in and revive you over and over and over again. When you get control of King Mickey to revive you, you'll see that he is so much of a bad ass that you'll always be succesful in resurrecting Sora.

Nothing like it. The new add-ons to the game play such as shortcuts to potion usage, the new abiliity attacks and new stories to the old worlds made KH2 much more enjoyable. There were a few things that made KH2 one of those games where you can never let go of the controller.
First off the new Reaction Commanc (the triable button). At first, I thought it was nothing fancy just some dodging move that replaced the dodge roll in KH but boy was I wrong. The Reaction Command works completely different depending on the enemy you are fighting (usually works on Nobodies) and what the situation is.

The fighting and game play was very fun and did have its difficulties, so I can not say it was a very easy game, but it was short. The heartless did give you trouble since it seemed every one had its own personality and style to fighting unlike other games where they just have attacks, these have strategies. The bosses were difficult in their own ways. You could hack and slash and sometimes it would be over quick. Other times you will have to summon and use your magic and just get annoyed untill you somehow find a way to kill the derned thing. The way that they unfolded the storyline was very unique. There was not exactly an outburst that made the storyline just burst open but they kept everything kind of hidden and you had to find things out for yourself.

The presentation is absoulutely magnificent. Everything is presented at just the right time, and almost nothing is out of place. It's not one of those games where every 5 seconds the character is having a flash back. It only has a few flash backs, and those which are important rather than useless.
The humor in this game is probably about a 5 on a scale from 1-10. Not based on how funny it is, but how often humor is used. But when it is used, it is quite funny, don't get me wrong. Still, it's not a game based on all humor, so if you're looking for something where it's all about people getting pranked and stuff like that to where it happens all the time, this is not a good game for you. It's quite serious most of the time, retaining to the story.
This story is very fun to watch.

This is a great game to play. Once you start you won't want to stop. At the beginning it is slow but the story quickly picks up I promise. Once you beat the game you'll be itching for Kingdom Hearts II which comes out in September 2005 (I think).
It's not a difficult game, but those bosses can pack quite a punch especially towards te end of the game. You might want to think about buying a strategy guide so you can unlock all the hidden features, and so you can get out of any tough puzzles. But if you just want to get through the game a strategy guide isn't needed. The locals provide you with enough infomation so you can solve the puzzles and reach the boss. I don't think any of the bosses have any special powers to look out for, so they won't be too much of a surprise.
