Lunstar's Iriya no Sora UFO no Natsu Ova Review

Iriya no Sora UFO no Natsu

Rated: 8

I think the overrall presentation of this anime is very impressive as it is really different from what a typical viewer would expect from it. All the scenes in the anime had their purposes which are eventually revealed during the multiple flashbacks occuring throughout the anime. The reasons for the character actions, behaviour and thoughts are eventually revealed in a progressive manner which is enjoyable to watch. Most of the reasons were revealed at the end of the anime though...

The various personalites of this anime also made it very interesting, especially the chairman of the Newspaper Club and Iriys's "brother" Enomoto. The most enjoyable part of this anime is watching the relationship between Iriya and Asaba and how they mature mentally.

ArcticFlame's Iriya no Sora UFO no Natsu Ova Review

Iriya no Sora UFO no Natsu

Rated: 9

After watching this anime, I was heartbroken, and there were tears in my eyes. The ray of hope presented at the very end, however, limited this sad feeling. Perhaps, for viewers such as myself, a good five minutes of the last episode were spent detailing what some characters did after the show, providing a small sense of closure. The main love theme makes a faint echo in the dying seconds of the episode, leaving the viewer with hope, and a sense of optimism. Although this series did induce tears, they were tears brought about by witnessing the beauty of human emotions, not tears brought about by witnessing death and brutality.

If one thing marred the presentation slightly, it was the fact that a good episode and a half was spent on comedic elements.

Ujudi's Iriya no Sora UFO no Natsu Tv Review

Iriya no Sora UFO no Natsu

Rated: 8

The techniques which this anime uses is directed in your eyes are often taken in a very ‘film-like’ approach, despite the strangeness and the awkward moments that arise during the episodes, let alone in anime. You’ll see the stereotypical scenes and backgrounds, but it’s done in a way that feels unique and has not been attempted in anime for sometime, maintaining more than a waning interest compared to some things I have seen.

The story, though akin to Saikano, is boosted by some touches of originality, but like I said, the characters' relationships is what drives Iriya No Sora.

My closing thoughts? Iriya No Sora has to be one of the most enjoyable, heart warming, heart wrenching OVAs that I have seen.

RainOfStars' Iriya no Sora UFO no Natsu Tv Review

Iriya no Sora UFO no Natsu

Rated: 9

From originality point of view, “Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu is by far within the top of my most original anime list. It is the best science fiction anime I have seemed after “Voice of a distant star. If you like a good science fictional drama, you would definitely love this anime. The complex relationship between the characters and the innocent romance is underlined by a mysterious unknown war, and it really emphasizes the preciousness of their bond. The nature of the romance between the main characters is unique by itself. They have known of each other’s feeling, but they are still keeping a distance. The curiosity of wanting to know how the romance will end is enough to keep anyone on their toes waiting for the next OVA to come out.
