P-U-K-E's Fullmetal Alchemist Tv Review

Fullmetal Alchemist

Rated: 9

FMA is hands down, the best anime I have encountered so far.

Its plot is mostly angst, but brief humor is added. This makes the show unpredictable.

Science-concepts make this story realistic, and makes the audience believe for a second that they are watching a real-life event. It is almost like a "The Da Vinci Code", it teaches us forgotten knowledge (I didn't knew crap about alchemy) and applies real life to it.

It is not a tedious "random" show. It doesn't make its characters running around for no reason and looking like idiots, the characters' reactions are quite real and just the same as we would act.

We look at FMA and feel anger, sadness, and happiness when the characters do.

Fullmetal Alchemist

When considering originality, the fact that I have never watched an anime that has such philisophical content, angst, controversial topics and humor makes me give this anime top marks in originality.
The humor had me laughing all-out, and the sad scenes had me searching for the tissue box as my eyes filled with tears.
Also, the way the idea of alchemy was portrayed (with transmutation circles and the like) was quite original. Also, the fact that in the actual anime, the text documents were actually excerpts from real books (e.g., the first book on alchemy the brothers read, showed an excerpt and picture from the guide for Dungeons and Dragons.)
I give the enjoyability of this anime, with no doubt, top marks.

Boy...the humour is there!! It is more obvious in the beginning of the anime before things start to get more complicated. I think the story is quite original and I especially like that the homunculus was named after the seven deadly sins. Lust, sloth, greed, gluttony, wrath, pride, envy. Very sleek indeed. Alchemy itself is by far a very intriguing subject for me. Not only that, I agree about the rules of alchemy. Especially the part about equivalent trade. In the anime, we get to look at science versus religion, racial discrimination, fights between authority for power and many many more issues. The show is very enjoyable as the revelations come one by one. It is at a rate whereby the audience can digest it slowly.

Bleachluv's Fullmetal Alchemist Tv Review

Fullmetal Alchemist

It's Presentation is flawless, there is everything in this anime: humor, drama, romance, suspence, serious motions, sometimes sentimetal, and filled with action. I laughed, I cried, I got mad, upset.... It really has a way of dragging you in. Each character is given a deeper side and there hate-able characters. I suggest making an effort to see the deeper meaning because it only gets better the more you look into it. (It makes symbolism look cool :P)

It's amazing to watch, worth staying up to any hour. It NEVER gets old, and this is from the person who has seen the series at least 20 times each, some episodes up to 60+ times. (no lie, it's that good) It really drags you in, I cry at certain parts even now, I can't help it, it's just that good.

Headaches4ever's Fullmetal Alchemist Tv Review

Fullmetal Alchemist

Full Metal Alchemist should be it's own catagory, it has drama, humor, action, fantasy and even traces of Romance. Almost every episode has a little bit of humor, though there are some very serious episodes that even full grown adults would be intrigued by. Though it does have a bit of foul language I believe that almost anyone above 9 could follow and enjoy. I first watched on but I loved everything about it and soon bought the DVD. The way this show (and most others) ends, it leaves you hanging, wanting more... Every saturday I almost broke down, because I'd have to wait 'til next week to see the following installment. It is the way shows should be, keep you coming back for more and more.

Chdwck's Fullmetal Alchemist Tv Review

Fullmetal Alchemist

This series is completely original. They took an intriguing concept (alchemy) and actually developed a science around it. They applied rules and boundaries for which this particular science was to abide. From there, they developed the various legends and uncharted area that always accompanies the most fantastical ideas. To this they added unique, innteresting, and likeable characters. Even with the villians, you cannot help but find them interesting. The series is highly enjoyable to watch. It does have those moments that are hard to watch. The moments where you are not sure that the character is going to be able to find a way to continue after what they have just witnessed or experienced. It plays on your emotions just like real life.

Periphery's Fullmetal Alchemist Tv Review

Fullmetal Alchemist

Rated: 8

The pace of this anime was good. Most anime tend to drag at the beginning, and rush the ending. This was not the case in Full Metal Alchemist, where everything was wonderfully paced and the ending wrapped up perfectly. There was a good mix of humor and also of the seriousness of this anime, which embodied primarily brotherly love, and secondarily the love the brothers had for their mother, and the love their mother had for them. This was tested in various instances, which served to further reinforce their strong feelings.

Character development was also done well. Side characters like Hughes were pivotal towards the plot. He was well developed, and I felt intense emotion (i'm trying not to spoiler anyone!!) when something happened to him. Armstrong is also another admirable character.

MadTeaParty's Fullmetal Alchemist Tv Review

Fullmetal Alchemist

Rated: 9

This anime had all the things that I like to see in an anime. There was plenty of humor from characters like Ed, Armstrong, and Hughes. Of course, the characters were not 2D so they also contributed to making a depressing mood, along with other characters. Episodes moved along fairly smoothly and I still found myself on the edge whenever and episode ended. There was originality in the plot. The idea of equivalent exchange is really interesting and makes you think how you can apply it to real life. With humor, sadness, and a good plot, FMA didn't skimp on action either. The fight scenes were well done and were creative as well because alchemy doesn't limit the characters to just energy attacks and whatnot. I really can't find anything wrong with Full Metal Alchemist.

Artgeek12's Fullmetal Alchemist Tv Review

Fullmetal Alchemist

The story was pretty original in the fact that it starts out like any other anime but delves deep into the philosphy of life and its consequences. The humor, when presented, was a nice break from the heavier drama found later on in the series. The animation was detailed when needed and was fluid for the fight scenes (which I tend to be picky about too). The color scheme always matched whatever mood was trying to be set.

Having watched a few episodes of the US release, I would have to say that I feel somewhat disappointed. Everything is the same....except the voice actors. Perhaps it is because I've seen the Japanese version first but the voice the US used don't seem to fit the characters well. The inflection in their voices seem bland at best.

Takeshi1589's Fullmetal Alchemist Tv Review

Fullmetal Alchemist

Rated: 8

There has never been another series like this one. There is angst, action, comedy, tragedy, and much more involved. The characters are unlike any I've ever seen. Original and entertaining, the series has assumed a mass popularity world-wide. There are two or three games out on the Play Station 2 and anywhere from two to four out on the Gameboy Advance. It is fun to watch and the games are also fun to watch...they aren't out in America yet so I haven't got a chance to play. I've watched about 20 or so videos of gameplay and the graphics are very detailed. The gameplay is incredible as well. The player has the ability to transmute different objects into many weapons, tools, ect.
