DarkDub's Elfen Lied Tv Review

Rated: 6

This has moments of being funny, frightening, cute, lovelorn and devastating. The way the most of the relationships come about are about as probable as Tenchi Muyo!
Then again I don't know one person who watches anime soley for it's realistic properties.
The love story is wishy-washy at best. Most will be more distracted by the half naked chick floating around disemboweling the entire military. The fight scenes are incredibly impressive, except for the ones versus the humans. People are mere targets for these experiments gone rouge. The cuteness wavers in and out then out and in (based on a dual-personality). Most will be waiting for destruction to begin again.

The presentation is awesome. Just the way it feels watching it is creepy and cool at the same time. I LOVED it! I have seen the anime 9 times and it never gets old. Every element of this anime contributes to the overall presentation. I can’t begin to describe how awesome it is. Wow, I’m just rambling, aren’t I?
Ok, on to the review again. I can’t really think of what else to say about the excellent presentation of this excellent anime.
There was SOME humor …if there it was very minor. The funnier parts were the times Nyu pissed all over the floor, the time she started “feeling up Yuka, and the time Yuka walks in while Kouta is changing Nyu, and the time she bursts through the door naked with soap all over, from running out of the bath.

Tetedechat's Elfen Lied Tv Review

There is something new here – as far as my knowledge of anime goes : it has a will to use the media with much more sophistication than the usual anime. While you can watch and enjoy it with no question asked, it may be very interesting to note that, while the story itself may unfold on 5 or 10 main days, it has a width of time much larger. Elfen Lied uses the flashbacks and introspection always with the will to explain things, very accurately. The story unfolds so that, when such a sequence occurs, not only does it not spoil the rhythm, but adds even to the dramatic tension. This is true mise-en-scene, and a welcomed daring feat of storytelling. The characters are quite difficult : once the story is over, I daresay you shall have difficulties pinpointing good from evil ones.

Pod's Elfen Lied Tv Review

I dunno where to go with this. This series reeks of production quality from the get go, but that conception will soon fade. The only thing vaguely interesting about this series is pondering the meaning of a grandfather clock that Lucy has a hang of tinkering with during her "infantile" periods. It makes sense later on in the series, trust me.
Sadly, it's just not reason enough to watch this miserable waste of animation talent for the five hours of your life it will consume, unless you are below 13 years of age, so you won't mind the tedious babbling, or belong to one of the earlier mentioned target demographics.

NoktorNoL's Elfen Lied Tv Review

You simply cannot stop watching this series until you have finished the storyline. While some of the scenes are somewhat humourous, many are quite emotionally stimulating. You experience levels of grief and sorrow, as well as extreme happiness, some disgust (as the goriness of the series would imply) and many other emotions. The music absolutely enhances the entire experience, as the choices of soundtrack are amazing. The very idea of the anime itself is quite original. The philosophies are also extremely gripping, and very thought-stimulating. Furthermore, the end of the series leaves room for thought, and there will almost certainly be an extension of the series if not another sequel series altogether.

Yieloon's Elfen Lied Tv Review

I really enjoyed watching this. This show is both thought provoking and original. With it dark and adult theme, this show isnt your typical shounen anime. It is highly recommended for people wanting to watch something other than the typical shounen anime out now like bleach, naruto or gundam. Sure you might think they just wanted to sell this series by using gore/nudity, but this show have much deeper storyline just your average violent flick. This show is serious and people looking for comedy wont find it here. The only complain I have for this show is length, only 13 episode. And since I think they branch out from the manga storyline since the manga was still ongoing, the ending might feel a bit rush.

Cokedupmonkey1's Elfen Lied Tv Review

Rated: 10

I am conflicted as to whether or not this is an original series, because I have a feeling of déjà vu when watching some episodes. Although there are no tangible examples that I can give, it may seem familiar to some of you as well. That begin said this story itself, its themes, and plot twist are new and fresh and are a joy to watch and follow. There is some humor but I can not really say that it was a big enough part of the series to mention. The show is a joy to watch and it has some replay value. The sorrow and internal conflict that is present in the series may leave you a little down after watching, this is though in my opinion a sign that the series is excellent.
