Shoujoboy's Gantz Tv Review

Gantz

Rated: 3

This show will have you feeling deja vu all the time. This show will have you feeling deja vu all the time. (Terrible joke I know, moving on). By the end of Gantz you will have relived the same scenarios at least 3 times only with different aliens. Gantz will start a game with a one hour time limit that goes on for about four episodes. During that time there will be a lot of gun pointing and talking about that gun pointing. Finally someone will kill an alien, and then another will pop up. A bunch of people will die. The game will finally end. Rinse and repeat. Worse yet, it goes absolutely nowhere. There isn't a plotline to follow at all. It goes nowhere and ends with absolutely no closure as to what the hell has gone on for 26 episodes.

Weskalia's BLOOD-C Tv Review

BLOOD-C

Rated: 3

Which one is worse? A series that is mediocre from the start or one that looks promising then turns mediocre. Either way, both apply for Blood-C, too sloppily directed to succeed and too clunkily scripted to make for compelling drama, it does have the makings of a good, down and dirty exploitation series. While not everything was resolved in the end, the popularity boosts a movie, but even at that, it's not possible to cover all in a few minutes unlike Last Vampire which has the benefit of a 50-episode anime. And judging from the last episode, the movie would probably be about in a gigantic battle between good and evil as a lousy protagonist jumps into the belly of the beast. Call me bloodthirsty, but I'd rather watch something more creative with blood, sweat and tears.

Weskalia's Fortune Arterial Tv Review

Fortune Arterial

Rated: 3

Now Fortune Arterial is a terrible show, but not because of the idea - its current season also aired one of the most censored eroge anime, a guy traveled to his place from childhood and got stuck up in one of the worst harem, so let's not pretend that somehow this particular idea is any more or less boring than anything else in its genre. No, this show is awful because it's unbelievably poorly constructed and executed – this is one of the worst vampire element of any fiction ever come in existence. At least Yosuga no Sora has the benefit of pretty landscape and soothing music; this series can't even manage that much or perhaps, it aimed to become even more than what a school romance could be, which often fails.

And so the season's "Are They Even Trying?" award goes to ...

CyanideBlizzard's Kono Naka ni Hitori Imouto ga Iru! Tv Review

Rated: 3

CyanideBlizzard : To be honest, I hate saying this about a show because I do believe that there is always something for everyone out there, but I just can't think of who Kono Naka is suppose to appeal to. The worst part is Kono Naka isn't exactly terrible, it's just bland in every sense of the word.

As a form of character development and plot, it's nonexistent. As a harem anime, there are so many more out there that have done it far better before and have far more interesting females to follow. While it is fairly nice to see Shougo as a decent guy, he's also incredibly dense and indecisive.

Wiegraf30's Scrapped Princess Tv Review

Scrapped Princess

Rated: 4

As an RPG veteran, I had a lot of problems watching this show an enjoying myself at the same time. Cliches left and right, with cookie cutter characters (minus Shannon) that are thrown into the mix in an attempt to get something decent in the end. The humor wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either.

The stereotypical "that incident" in this show was a war from 4000 years ago. There's nothing wrong with referring to a war 4000 years ago, but it you're going to, at least make the war a critical point in the story (Xenogears for the PSX is a prime example of a pertinent conflict 4000 years ago). Honestly, they could've just omitted that whole war and the story would have flowed almost the exact same way.

Ninasun100's Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Ova Review

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

Rated: 4

This movie was by far the worst of its years. Just to plainly say it out: I did not like it. At all(Hate is a very strong word...). This movie is 90% violence, and the 10% was Cloud's problems.

WE DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU AND YOUR NEEDS, CLOUD!

The fighting scenes happened too fast and too inhumane for the human eye to actually take it all in. The producers treat all the characters as if they were gods, and thus make them very un-realistic.

I know this review was short, but there's nothing much to say when all you can pinpoint are the bad points.(Please don't complain to me if the score is too low for your liking)

Hopefully, if they make another movie, they can fix their mistakes and make a better, more complete movie.

Soredtherose's Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Tv Review

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

Rated: 4

If you are not a Final Fantasy fan, then this film is just special effects and one battle after another. There is not that much in the way of humour, which is almost a shame, because the funny parts are actually quite funny.

Must of the laughs are provided by two agents from the Shinra company. One looks like he walked straight out of The Matrix, with his bald head and sunglasses. His partner has loud red hair, which really stands out in the film, since everybody either has silver hair, or "natural" hair colours like black, brown and blond. These two guys are always getting into trouble, and they act like two stooges for much of the film.

There's not really that much romance in the film.

Weskalia's Dog Days Tv Review

Dog Days

Rated: 4

A lot of Dog Days is pure insipid, you've seen this kind of story and thousand times, and furthermore, you've seen it in better-animated and better-written. The series looks and acts exactly like every other empty fantasy romance out there. Sure it's cute, but not remarkably so. Sure its optimism and simplicity may make you want to gag, but with a little effort. You know how they say that you can't look away from a train wreck? Dog Days is very similar to a train wreck, both in its speed and the totality of its ultimate destruction, but unlike the wreck, it's all too easy to look away from. And that's death for a television series.

Hrist's To Heart Tv Review

To Heart

Rated: 4

There's not a whole lot of humor in ~Remember my Memories~; it's clearly meant as a drama. It's too bad though, because as a drama it mostly falls flat, and a little humor might have helped it along. What attempts at humor there are don't work so well, although a few truly humorous bits slip in there.

Honestly, though, as a whole, this show just doesn't work. It's trying to be a slice of life show, but generally those work for one of two reasons: Because the character development is superb, or because it is fantastically funny (a la Azumanga Daioh). Unfortunately, To Heart ~Remember my Memories~ has lackluster character development and isn't intended to be funny.

Ky's Kimi ga Nozomu Eien Tv Review

Kimi ga Nozomu Eien

Rated: 4

This is the part where the anime completely and MISERABLY falls apart into the lackluster, overrated, and under-achieving piece of crap that I feel KGNE to be.

The characters are what really brings this anime down.

Takayuki - Can a character be more generic and boring than him? After watching KGNE, I doubt it. He has no personality, and he literally does... nothing. When something happens, you'd expect him to react in a certain way... but he doesn't. Yet at the same time, he's feeling all this guilt and taking in all of the blame. Now, I have to wonder...
