Mobile Suit Gundam SEED tv Review
Cosmic Era 71. A war is under way between genetically enhanced Coordinators and unmodified Naturals. The Natural-dominated Earth Alliance, struggling to catch up with the Coordinators' superior technology, has secretly developed its own Gundam mobile suits at a neutral space colony. Through a twist of fate, a young Coordinator named Kira Yamato becomes the pilot of the Alliance's prototype Strike Gundam, and finds himself forced to fight his own people in order to protect his friends.
Story & Characters
Coordinators...Naturals...fighting against each other due to conflicts in beliefs. Now that is a story worth watching.
Not only because I would like to know who wins in the end but because i relate to a story like that. With all the
discrimination here between different races, it makes it easier to relate and understand what this story is about. Plus
each character is around the average auidence age of 16 or so. This makes it even more easier to relate to. Yes, yes 16
year olds in real life can't pilot gundam (due to the fact that a gundam doesn't exist) and that no 16 year
old would ever be sent into the front lines because of the age. Thsi story kept me at the edge of my seat waiting to see
what happens next. There was a minor slow point about halfway through the series but after watching the series again for
the second time that slow point disappeared. It just seemed slow due to the weeks waiting for the next episode. Overall
well done.

Art
The art was above and beyond amazing. This was a style I've never seen before in an anime I can ever recall (I saw
S-cry-ed after Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny). It worked so well for this anime it left me a bit breathless
actually. There was, as far as I can recall, one point in the episodes where the face of one of the characters looked
funky but it was so minor that it didn't change anything. The style of the gundams were, in my eyes, superb and
definately an improvement of the older gundams from the older gundam series. Yes the fact that the older gundam series
didn't have the technology like we do now, I can still say I like this much better. I felt that each character had
their own look to them, even though there is argument about that among other Gundam Seed viewers. I was able to see
uniqueness in each character that I didn't feel I was looking at the same person everytime. The emotions the
characters felt also shown brightly on their faces. I was able to clearly understand what they were feeling and feel
what they were feeling through their expressions. Very well done.

Sound
The music...well what can I side besides great. I loved the music. You have singers like Rie Tanaka and Nami Tamaki
singing beautiful songs and catchy songs. Nicol's piano theme was done so well that I can feel emotion from it.
When I hear that song I think of Nicol's death scene and I get a bit sad. Now that may seem a bit extreme to some,
but its what I was able to get off of it. I like each and every song, especially the song Justice and Freedom and
Akatsuki no Kuruma that was the ending song of episode 39 or 40. I forget which. The sound effects were well done. I
can't remember hearing any bad sounds in the series. The voice over acting was awesome. I had the chance to watch
both the japanese and english versions and I love both of them. The voices chosen for the series were awesome and I
actually didn't get annoyed by a voice.

Presentation
The overall presentation was well done. The series was overall enjoyable and I was able to udnerstand everything on the
first try. I didn't have to spend 20 mins trying to figure out what one person meant. Transitions flowed smoothly
and each moment was never dull. Despite long portions of talking, I actually enjoyed it. The battle scenes were great
except for their talking to much while fighting. Besides its not like they can really talk to each other because they
are using different communiation lines. So pretty much they are talking to a ghost. Seems weird, but interesting because
of what they say.

This review failed. A 9 for story? Clearly you haven't watch any previous Gundam series, don't you? I
won't comment further on other departments since everything is pretty much made up by the words 'awesome'
and 'amazing'.
This review overall a biased one. Your opinions clearly not from a neutral point of view. Plus, you provided spoilers.
That's a sin when doing a review.
-
I just want to say in response: "Well excuse me for having such a small vocabulary. Sorry I am not as perfect as
you are and I'm sorry that my OPINION (which frankly that is what a review is) doesn't match up to your
standards."
-
Oh? I incited a war of words now? I merely pointed flaws in this review and you refuse to accept it.
Clearly, you don't even know what a review is. But I guess that can be explained. Given your confession of having a
small vocabulary.
-
Let's please try not to resort to insults please and stick to commenting on the substance of the review itself.
Thanks!

IMHO, the story telling in GS was excellent. They way they were able to convey the story and character's emotions
to the viewer is top notch ,which would make it stand out compared to it's predecessors.

Reviewing anything is a tough job, one I'm all too familiar with. You try to walk the line between an open mind and
a biased opinion. If you rate something too highly, some think you are easy to please or that you are jumping on a
bandwagon of sorts. If you rate something too low you may get attacked as being an overall anime hater. The issue is
that sometimes words may not accurately describe what you got from a viewing experience whether it be sheer admoration
for the show or fuming hatred. What I got from this review is that you truly enjoyed the experience of the show on the
whole which is all that matters right? I too find it difficult to explain at times when something truly touched me and I
would likely find it difficult to do it with this as well.
-
^Lol.. the whole point is when you write reviews, you could never get over the line, or before it. You just have to be
'on top of' the line. Thats why I never write reviews :P
Well.. this review is biased, but I guess it doesn't deserve so much bashin right at the start :/ Aoshi101,
overall.. your review can be 'ok', but it praised more than review. Thats all I'm gonna say.. Cya around
then.

Well I appreciate what you guys said, but my review was not biased. I did this review from the most neutral stand point.
I, as a viewer, just couldn't find many things wrong with this series. I'm sorry if my unbiased opinion
doesn't meet up to other people's review of this series. I tried to think of things wrong with this series but
in the end, I couldn't think of anything major. The minor things I found that were wrong with it I clearly stated
in my review. *hint hint* why this review didn't give the show a 10. If I was truly biased I would've gone
that route.

Yes, one of the best animes i've watched. The story, the characters, the gundams, the fightings are all great and
nice to watch. I would recommend to anyone who is new to animes. Thanks!
-
here's a few thing i found wrong with seed:
explosions are pink
reuse footage too much
story is just a cut and paste of other gundam series
-
I have seen countless anime series, you name it I saw it. I have also seen previous gundam series'. This anime has
to be the absolute worst anime I ever watched. It must have been written for trn year olds becuase it lacks any higher
level plot. Not to mention that, its characters are dryer then a desert in july. I do have to give this show props on
animation style (the least important of all features to an anime), and its sound. The music is great, but thats not
nearly enough to compenstate for this horrible series.

Oops.. I need to apologize on something XP
I thought your review was biased because I thought you were talking about SEED Destiny. Sorry about that, so, I'll
take back what I've said(the 'I think your review is biased part').
-
I totally agree that your review was somewhat over-rated, especially on the story part. It is a UC ripped off, so there
shouldn't be any storyline at all. The art and character design are obviously the best of all the gundam series,
since SEED is after all the lastest in the franchise. And the dogfighting is absolutely amazing. But having these
qualities around doesn't give them any rights to just retell the story from something which has already been done
more than a decade ago.
SEED is nothing more than an old gundam series, being innovated upon, and released as a new series.
-
I do agree with the Aoshi101 on the fact that "The style of the gundams were, in my eyes, superb and definately an
improvement of the older gundams from the older gundam series." Blitz was way cool.. Aegis too.
-
i wouldnt even dare try writing a review as i am soo heavily biased on the Gundam SEED and SEED Destiny series that i
would rate every thing a 20 out of 10 (^_^)
any way gr8 work, though i thuink you shoulda given everything a ten or more (^_^)
-
i would say the anime series were great.. the best anime ever but your reviews abit underachieving....
-
The anime series were great.I like Kira and Athrun in this anime. They look cute. The opening and ending songs were also
good.

Thanks for the review! Nice ^__^
