Mobile Suit Gundam SEED

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED tv Review

Cosmic Era 71. A war is under way between genetically enhanced Coordinators and unmodified Naturals. The Natural-dominated Earth Alliance, struggling to catch up with the Coordinators' superior technology, has secretly developed its own Gundam mobile suits at a neutral space colony. Through a twist of fate, a young Coordinator named Kira Yamato becomes the pilot of the Alliance's prototype Strike Gundam, and finds himself forced to fight his own people in order to protect his friends.

Story & Characters

One of the BEST storylines ever... There are multiple plots in the story shadowing the main plot. The perspectives of the series bounces around from THREE main sides.. the Coordinators, the Naturals, and the crew on the Archangel with Orb. The whole series is like a grand journey as Kira and Athran find what they are supposed to do. The story told about the confusion war VERY beautifully.. This was not some series about how horrible war was.. but how war is sometimes unavoidable..and that there is not usually just one "bad" side... There are a lot of flashbacks... and a couple episodes that just review what happend..

There was one VERY annoying person.. but the ending made me pretty happy.. since it never happens.. There are a TON of characters.. and to balance out the very annoying character they added in one that everone just likes (Lacus). There is a ton of character development for the series is practically all about how everyone changes during war... You really get to know about each individual person in the series, so that the actions of the person seem reasonable.. The series also splits the characters into three sides. Two conflicting, and one trying to make peace between the two. The audience is always given the perspectives of all 3 sides, to build up everyones personality, and to make it so that no side is really the enemy.

Another interesting thing is that with the 50 episodes, they did not waste any episodes for fillers, they had a couple review episodes, but none that made the series boring at all. They used their 50 episode very nicely. The characters travels from place to place, while learning new things, and at the same time meeting more people that make the story a lot more interesting.

Art

Not a strong point... the animation was average.. the mechas and fight scenes were decently animated.. but with nothing really exceptional.. they reused seens quite a few times.. whether for flashbacks or just the firing of weapons. The animation is very repetative.. and not great at all. The mecha details were okay.. but the fighting scenes were just average. The background scenes were not that special, in space there is nothing but stars, in the ocean its just water, and on land, its just buildings and dirt. This is clearly a weak point of such a great series.

Sound

The MULTIPLE OP/ED are just So GOOD!! The music for the OP are the catchy fast songs with techno.. which i think is perfect for an OP for a mecha series.. with the last two sung by Nami Tamaki. The EDs consists of semi slow songs which reflect well with the overall confusion and sadness in the series.. The soundtrack is pretty good.. mainly composed of classical.. with a few upbeat songs... The soundtrack also contains one of the best insert songs sung by Lacus (Rie Tanaka)...The OP/EDs and insert songs really made this series shine!

Rating: 10

Presentation

Lots of good things about this series... the story, characters, and music... The OP/ED and insert songs are a couple of the best i have ever heard... the storyline IS the best i have ever come across.. and with the abundance of characters that are well developed to help support the story.

I finished all 50 episodes in one week...and I immediately started to watch the sequel to the series.. I had SO much fun watching the series.. Easily considered to be one of the best series i have EVER seen.. The music got me INTO watching the series.. and the STORY and ChARACTERS KEpT me into the series..

The only negative aspect of the series would be the animation or lack of it.

Final Verdict

9.0000 (very good)

"One of the BEST storylines ever..."

Definitely, since it's a compilation of the best twist and plot of the original Universal Century. It should have been no storylines ever.....

Yeah actually all the gundam stories are similar so you can't really say best storyline ever.
Also I don't like Lacus! so she's not actually loved by everyone.
I think you should've put more detail to the sound. Like bg sound in the anime. The sound they put when the mechs fight, voice etc......
I would also recommend that you put a little description of the characters so it explains how the characters are different from other animes

Extremely biased review of SEED. I have no more to say.

i like the series, but, really, you've got to admit that there are serious problems about it too
    generally it's fine
the repetition and plot holes littered here and there kind of bother me, though when i watch it, i just enjoy it without trying to (over)analyse what i see :)

one of my favourites Gundam series...not as cheesy as the old ones haha

" There was one VERY annoying person.."
There were a few VERY annoying people who just needed to die.. but I like the way Kira, Athrun, and Dearko(not sure if I spelled it right) became allies in the end.

I reckon the annoying person you were talking about is Flay? :) Yeah, she was rather annoying.. but I think she didn't mean it. Think from her PoV.. I disliked her as well, but towards the ending, the hate kinda faded. Anyways yeah... this is a anime series with a good storyline and great music.. I just love the songs in GS! They adapt well to the anime.. it makes me touched sometimes.

Tis a great series I think. To me, nothing is quite wrong. Though I did notice the repeat of some scenes. But I jus laughed at them and got on with my life. Lol! Well anyways, still the best series Ive ever seen. Including GSD. I like both series.

Gundam Seed to me was really good! XD
It had a great storyline and the ending was good too. Usually i dont like the endings of anime's as they are really bad. However this anime had a great ending.
Cool music which suited the anime quite well! T.M Revolution and Nami Tamaki ROCK!
