A saucy story with a cheeky sense of humor. This is about the lives of Makoto and Yura; newlyweds in an arranged marriage. Makoto is an average office worker and Yura a housewife, and both of them are inexperienced with the opposite sex. The story revolves around how they overcome various problems in the bedroom and the funny situations that the couple get into.

Story & Playability
If anything, this series called "Two-person ecchi" (slang for masturbation) had me grinning from one ear to
the other and moments later laughing. To think that there are producers/artists out there drawing anime scenes for the
intent to teach people about sex is pretty hilarious. Of course, compared to the manga, this series is nothing, but the
comparison between anime and manga should not be made when it is anime against anime. As you can guess, I think the
storyline is pretty original, weaving elements of everyday life, interaction, and ecchi all into a short 4 episode
series. (I will later talk about the quantity) Starting off with the omiai and during the marriage ceremony, Onoda
Makoto immediately gets a erection after hearing Yura's sister getting it on in the bathroom and trying to hide it
from all the other guests - that's so freaking hilarious. Makoto kind of represents the average American innocent
boy who doesn't know anything about sex, similar to Urashima Keitaro of Love Hina. Keitaro doesn't really know
anything either about sex, which is why he bleeds at the sight of panties. Yura is other type of innocent person, just a
girl instead of a boy. Nowadays, mostly all teens will have known the basics to sex, and I think Futari Ecchi also pokes
fun at the inept couple who are adults but are absolutely clueless when it comes to "doing it". In fact, it is
their cluelessness that the series revolves around that makes the anime so funny and embarassing at the same time. When
other characters step in, it only makes things more funny and more intimate between Makoto and Yura, such as
Makoto's cousin and Makoto's student/secretary - hehehe.

Graphics
The art is pretty sound. Nice lines, color, high quality overall. When it comes down to the characters, the faces seem
to retain the same shape. Even though this is anime, they could have used some variety, well, at least they did so with
the skin color. The scenery, if anything, was ridiculously well done, such as the night train scene of episode 3 in the
beginning and the city nightlife of episode 1 and 2. There was this one part where Makoto is about to get up from the
onsen and realizes that his penis is erected. Instead of seeing it, you see an unpealed banana straighening - funny and
safe. Funny because the banana exaggerates the erection by bouncing around having a "boing, boing" sound, and
safe in that you don't actually see it, which makes it safe for us under-18-by-the-law rule. The sex scenes were
nice and realistic and safe enough not to be considered hentai, which is why the series is called Futari Ecchi.

Sound
Music-wise, it was nothing above decent. They played the right type of music in the right spots, but the opening/closing
songs were only decent and not of Erementar Gerad quality. The seiyuu for Yura - big problem. Her voice is fine, but
when it comes down to sex, she screams like a scared whore and the sound repeats over and over again. She screams at the
slightest push everytime she has sex; it kind of makes me want to throw up. Admittedly, it wasn't all that bad and
the seiyuu had to be embarassed by it, but it should have been more realistic and less screaming. The screaming sounded
more like in pain than in pleasure, which is what turns me off.

Fun
I believe that anime should either be a movie or OVAs after a series or a 24-26 episode anime series and anymore than
that be split into 24-26 episodes per season. Futari Ecchi breaks that with 4 "OVAs", or really just episodes.
4 episodes only? I'm sorry, but that doesn't cut it and it doesn't do the manga any justice. Everything
felt rushed with the first 2 episodes and the last episode did not really end the series well. Other than that, the
series is portrayed nicely and funny and was enjoyable after all.
