Nismosis' Koi Kaze Tv,manga Review

Koi Kaze tv,manga Review

Story & Playability

Koi Kaze is an excellent story that touches on a subject that is considered to be an extreme taboo: incestual relations between a brother and sister. The basic layout of the story is one that will repulse some and intrique others. However, take into effect of how the short series portrays this story, and you'll find yourself with a sense of awe and respect for the series. From the trivial introduction of the series to the open-minded conclusion, you find yourself realizing that the story is more of a focus on the aspect of true love and understanding, as opposed to focus of taboo. The projection of the way the characters think is one that can relate with both sexes and the influence of real life concerns provides an outstanding layout and progression for the story. Koi Kaze gets a 8/10 rating storywise, simply because it takes a very touchy subject and provides a very open perspective to the situation as well as an understanding of how such things can come to be in a realistic fashion.

Graphics

The artwork for Koi Kaze is very soft and smooth for an open deliverance to a wider audience. The soft eyes and character designs give the series a sense of comfort and peace but it still maintains a strong individualization when needed. There are times in the series when the series can become somewhat blurred as the studio seems to want to soften all of the scenes. This style does support the majority of the series however, at times of tension and grief, it can serve to take away from the seriousness of the situation at hand. Overall, the artwork functions well enough for the series but it's nothing exeptional for mention.

Sound

The music in Koi Kaze was relatively mediocre in every aspect. The intro "Koi Kaze" / "Love Wind" is relative to the story and soft but fails to extend itself in any fashion. This is good as it maintains the sense of softness in the anime, but bad in a sense that it doesn't hold your attention. The background music in the series is normally low key with tender notes. Once again, while it suits the anime well enough, don't expect yourself to run out to buy the OST. The ending theme "Futari Dakara" / "Because We Are Together" is worthy of a bit more mention than the rest of the music in the series. The ending theme is more like a traditional ballad with old-style Japanese lyrics blended in to provide a sense of love and togetherness. However, to those who aren't so fond of the traditional style music, the voicing may grow on your nerves as the song can come off as 'whiny' if not taken in accordance with the series.

Fun

The overall presentation of Koi Kaze is one that focuses on the point that wants to get across. The series does get the point across and it does it with a cheerful smile. The soft art and undistracting music assists the anime in projecting the story of the anime in a fashion that allows you grasp the full aspect of the situation. Both male and female viewers will be able to place themselves in the story not so much as for the situation, but as for the humanity that is portrayed by the series. While the series is relatively short, spanning just over three DVDs, it covers the entire series very smoothly without ever going off topic to a filler episode. From the questionable opening to the soothing conclusion, this series will give it's viewers the chance to view something that is deemed as forbidden in a light that is usually overloooked. The realistic setting will also assist the presentation and story to touch viewers in a sense to where they realize that situations like this do arise in real life. Fans of any romance/drama genre will find Koi Kaze to be quite enjoyable.

I found this anime to be fairly boring... Perhaps I just favor action, plot twists and a more vibrant art style. I think that the artwork is simply too washed out, and I found most of the minor characters, and even the male lead, to be rather ugly, or mundane.
