Story & Characters

Digimon is all about 7 chosen kids called the DigiDestined at a summer camp who are unexpectedly transported by their Digivices to a world that they never know, the Digimon World. There, they are befriended by small Digital Monsters, short for Digimons. The kids and their Digimons become close as the story goes deeper while the cute little creatures guide them throughout their journey in the foreign land. They are soon to find out that the evil Digimons they've encountered before aren't evil at all; the Black Gears embedded deep in their bodies were the course of it. As their Digimon Partners digivolve into a stronger level, they must find their way home to Japan before it spreads out to reality. But in the meantime, while they survie in Digimon World, they will face hatred, sadness, pain and death. The journey might not be the harshest yet, but they will soon learn the purpose of them being chosen and to acknowledge the Crests which are given to them. However, they will soon find out that they're not the only DigiDestined around, they will be surprised to see that 1 more is in Japan, and Myotismon is now setting up a plan to get his hands on her Crest before the DigiDestined do.

Art

The art which is displayed in Digimon isn't really focusing on the human characters; it's more to the Digimons. The Digimons are very well portrayed and their skills are proven to be very nice and beautiful, rarely seen in any other animes seen so far. As good as the Digimons can be, the character themselves are not to be neglected. The DigiDestined themselves play an important role in the anime as key to digivolving their partners is trully wonderful. With all the detailed Digimons and simple and clean characters display, it's still serves as a wondeful anime.

Sound

Digimon opening and ending OSTs are very well coordinated. From the opening till the ending, the style is the same but the song seriously blended with the purpose itself. Mostly opening songs of Digimon are performed by male singers plus a suitable spirit-lifting songs. The songs for opening give you the battle atmosphere in Digimon World and it's simply the best music display. As for the ending, mostly sung by a female singer, Ai Maeda. The ending, however, in contrast to the opening, gives the cute, light-hearted and relaxing feel for the viewer as they approach the end of the episodes.

Presentation

Digimon trully has presented quite well either in the form of anime or game. Focusing on Digimons but not to forget their human partners, Digimon welcomes viewers at first as a cute little creatures which enlightened us all. But as the story goes intense, they will go wild and by following the plot, perfectly blends in with the whole story. The idea of making Digimons as Digital Monsters which can evolve from Baby to Rookie, Champion, Ultimate and Mega is simply an original idea. In the form of game, Digimon is really a very fun game to play with; the Digimon World I is one good example for it. Playing as a role of a young boy who'se duty is to train his own Digimon to save the Digital World from the grasp of evil maniac, the gameplay is absolutely fantastic as it takes place in the world of 3D. Talking and fighting other Digimons to rebuild the town, exploring new parts of Digital World and visiting different places are the good elements displayed in the game so far. And instead of traditional method of tiems for healing and curing, floppy discs and chips are used to nurse your Digimon Partner back to health.

Nice presentation. I like Digimon. I watched it every morning. But they stoped showing it . I just hope they can show it again. Plus new episodes, cuz I've seen all the old ones. Again, nice presentation, keep it up :)

Succinct, to the point and easy to read through :) This is a great job Ephie XD Hope to see you write more of these... possibly you might consider the Minitokyo Review while you're at it XD

Gee... you're up to reviews too?

Oh well, you made a nice one. I guess your ratings are good.

Cor, nice review! I like the way you've phrased everything so nicely, even convinces me that Digimon might be a good watch [even though I didn't particularly like it when I watched it... A few years ago] ^^

A few pointers: Be careful with spelling... I know that you *can* spell, just small typos tend to make it either harder to understand, or are just annoying. I know everyone makes typos [I make tons], but fixing them up just polishes up a nice piece of work, and just reminds everyone how much work you've put into the review =) And, just make sure you've used the right word... Like with "in their bodies were the course of it"... I think it should be "cause" instead of "course" XD It doesn't ruin it, but it's bettet to be safe, right?

Overall, I think it's well written! =) Great work!
