Onegai Twins

Onegai Twins tv Review

Kamishiru Maiku knows nothing of his past - his only clue is a photo of two young children playing in a pool in front of a house. In an attempt to find out about his family, he moves into the house in the picture and works as a programmer while going to school. Then, on one day, two girls show up at his front door, both claiming to be his twin, and both in possession of an identical photograph. This leaves Maiku with little option but to let both stay with him until they discover the truth.

Story & Characters

Onegai Twins is kinda like a sequel side story of Onegai Teacher, taking place after the events of Onegai Teacher, takes place in the same town. The story is about a guy, Kamishiro Maiku, who was seperated from his family long ago. He sees news of UFO's, and sees a house in the background that looks a lot like the house in a picture he has, one of him and his twin sister. Going back to the house to live alone, he works as a programmer to earn a living. One day, he runs into a girl who has the same blue eye color as him, Miyafuji Miina, and later that day meets another girl with the same eye color, Onodera Karen. The two girls live in Maiku's house, and the story is basically about them trying to sort out who's the twin and who isn't.

For an ecchi anime, there wasn't really that much of it, which I think was pretty good - usually, fitting ecchi into a romance anime makes it worse. Also for an ecchi anime, the two main girls, Karen and Miina, don't have the huge chests or anything - but some of the side characters do.

back to the stoay..The story, to me, was pretty good. I don't have a vast knowledge anime, so I don't know if there are any other animes with a story like this. This anime was pretty short, with a total of 12 episodes and an OVA. Like many romance animes, the two girls already had innate feelings for Maiku, which grow stronger as the story progresses. What I liked about this anime was the complications to their relationship, some of which were really funny. Most fans of Onegai Teacher will be disappointed, because the old characters from Onegai Teacher make short appearances and don't really affect the story much. But if you regard this anime as a whole nother series, you'll probably like it more. I know I did.

Overrall, people who like a good romance anime will like this - even though theres some unneccessary ecchi parts - and fans of onegai teacher might not be pleased, but should try to watch this as a different anime altogether. gl with that :P

Art

The artwork of Onegai Twins was great. Again, like most animes, the artwork does tend to shift a little, looking worse as times, looking better at others. Backgrounds are drawn well, though sometimes they can be a bit plain. Facial eexpressions are some of the things I enjoy most about watching animes, and they're drawn well here.

The characters were drawn great, but as usual the quality will falter at times. I think the character designs were good, because the main girls didn't have the busty figures that most people label anime girls as. But since it's ecchi, they did add side characters with huge chests... blah. not much else to say on the artwork.

Sound

The music, songs, and voices in Onegai Twins are all done great. I liked both the intro and ending themes, and the music during emotional times fits the situation. The voices, i think, fit the characters perfectly with their personalities, like Karen, who's a bit shy, has a soft voice. Miina, who's optimistic, has a more cheery kind of voice. Voice acting was great too, they sounded sad when they were supposed to and happy when they were - they put their emotions into it. nothing kills an emotional moment like than crappy voice acting.

Presentation

Like i mentioned earlier, I don't know about that many animes, so I don't know if there is another anime with a story like this. So for me, I think the story for this anime was pretty original. It doesn't use the childhood friend technique or anything. The complications that stretch the story don't distract from the basic storyline much, but like almost all animes the big stuff doesn't happen until the end.

Humor - some parts had me laughing out loud, at the worst of times. The first time I watched it, I got hooked and kept watching until past 3 a.m. laughing out loud at that time isn't a good idea. Most parts, though, will probably just leave you with a small grin or short "heh". at least what I think ^^;; the overall comedy is great though, and like most ecchi animes it uses ecchi to make comedy.

Enjoyability - I, for one, enjoyed this anime a lot - I've watched it several times already, but now I'm addicted to Ichigo 100% (eheheh) but this will probably keep you entertained for a good long time, especially those who don't watch a lot of animes, because those who watch a lot of animes usually don't think it is that good because they'll see things reused over and over again. So new anime fans should watch this.

only my second review, tell me the stuff I do bad/wrong plz ^^; thx
