Yeah I agree with you there doa is one of the best games i played out there and they haven't dissapointed me yet!
Dead or Alive tv Review
Story & Characters
The story of the Dead or Alive series is not in depth in my opinion. It is a composition of the fighters' aspiration. Some have a past history that intertwines with other characters. More of the story may be revealed in Dead of Alive: Ultimate game for Xbox. But the CG scenes of bits of the story in Dead or Alive 3 were very cool. It showed a short scene of what they are doing after the tournament. It had a little insight into the lives of the Dead or Alive characters. Ultimate reveals more of the past since it includes Dead or Alive 1 and 2. Don't let this fact dismiss you from buying this game. The game has be upgraded a lot, includes an online feature and has many more costumes. About 20 for each girl. The guys don't have as much as the girls but they still have plenty. This game is not known for its amazing story. This is a fighter so this type of genre doesn't focus as much on creating a storyline with plot twists and such. If you are looking for a game that focuses a lot on story, this may not be the game for you. You might want to look into Role Playing Games or maybe Adventure games. But if you try out this game, you might enjoy it for its many other great strengths.

I think the art is supurb. The character models are done very well. Most notable are the girls of Dead or Alive of course. The costumes that they have designed are very interesting and unique. The arenas are done very well too. The screens of some of the arenas in DOA: Ultimate looks really good. You can check out some of the screens at www.ign.com, www.gamespot.com, or www.teamxbox.com. The videos that these sites show are breathtaking. Team Ninja knows how to make a game look pretty and Dead of Alive: Ultimate is a game that proves it again. When you thought Dead or Alive 3 was good looking, you haven't seen the new installment of the Dead or Alive series. All the arenas are just amazing and looks so good. The Aquarium stage is just so cool with the water all around. The constant snow falling down. The lighting glare effects. Everything just looks great. Judging by the many scans in the Dead of Alive section in MiniTokyo, a lot of people love the artwork of the Dead or Alive series. The girls look fantastic especially in there 20 + costumes for each.

Sound
The sound is more of an opinion. I thought the sound was good, but not great. It is hard to pick sounds for a fighting game because it isn't the focus and plays a minor role. That is why when someone focuses on it to rate it in a review, it gets some criticim. Some would agree to have custom soundtracks in DOA 3 and Ultimate but from my guess of Itagaki and his perfectionist nature, I don't think he would have liked the thought of rap music playing in the background while fighting in the Aquarium stage or on top of the Great Wall of China. It isn't like the sound is so bad that you have to turn the volume very low or even put on the mute on your TV. The sounds of bodies hiting the walls and floors are on the mark. Who doesn't love the sound of your opponent hitting the wall in the Danger Zone level and hearing that giant explosion? I know I love to hear that sound!!! They even have the sounds of the characters walking in the snow while you are fighting. Team Ninja has pretty much thought of everything. Go to a gaming website like www.ign.com and take a look at some of their videos they got on Dead or Alive: Ultimate. Listen to the sounds and music for yourself and you can be the judge.

Presentation
Presentation was great. The graphics are just awsome and utilzes the Xbox's hardware to its fullest. Some of the costumes are funny and odd. So there is a bit of humor in Dead or Alive. With DOA: Ultimate, it is awsome that it runs so smooth online. I like how they designed this arcade mode feel that one would get when at the real arcades. Two people play and the others watch when in line to take on the winner. This is one of the online feartures that Ultimate brings. This may be enjoyable to watch for some. Others may not like it because they do not want to wait. I think that it is a great way to bring the atmosphere of the arcades to Xbox Live. The difficulty may not be as hard as other games but since Ultimate is online, the option to challenge those veterans of DOA will certainly up the difficulty factor by a lot. Unless you are a veteran yourself, you can strive to get the top ranking and earn a SS rank. Then again, if you are a veteran, that would mean that you would still get this game and be absorbed in it and play for non-stop hours. This is a great game and Team Ninja has created incredible games. They have not dissapointed me yet.

man, the doa series has some of the best graphics I've ever seen, in any game, just keeps you playing over and over again to see the sites ^^; both in the background and the characters themselves ;) hahaha ^^:

DOA is one of the best games i ever seen graphics wise is a perfect 10 and the story is also a good but complex one. overall; is a really good game series

Yes! I like the DOA series alot. but they did omit some moves in the list and the more stricter controls in ultimate. But I really likeed it even though because of just how fun it was and the good story that fit well in the game.

In the world of fighting games doa is one of the more if not the most simplistic one out there. I'm not saying thats a bad thing, but doa is to me the best fighting game I've played since Virtua Fighter. And I have to agree that the game looks amazing.
