Plot Synopsis

A young girl named Kagome Higurashi who's on her way to school goes to the well in her family's property. She was about to get her cat from the area because no one was supposed to go there she found a demon in the well instead. Taking Kagome back in time to the Feudral era of Japan. Once she heads to a village the people proved that she's the reincarnation of the powerful priestess Kikyo. The villagers also believed that she had the powerful Shikon jewel inside her body that can grant you anything you want.

Before when Kikyo was alive, she sealed a dangerous half demon Inuyasha to a tree with one of her magical arrows. Kagome loses the Shikon jewel and awakes Inuyasha to help her recover it.

When they do get it back however, Kagome shatters it when it is taken again thus sending it far and wide. The series tells us how Inuyasha and Kagome search for it and meet new people along the way.

Story & Characters

Inuyasha is a long-running anime that tells the story of Kagome, an everyday teenage girl who fell through a well into the Feudal Japan. This isn't the Feudal Japan you read about in history books though, it emanates with magic and wonderful things and is over run by demons. Upon stepping out of the magic well that transported her to this time period, Kagome comes upon one such demon, Inuyasha. Inuyasha isn't like all the rest though, he is considered a hanyou, a half-human, half-demon. He is also sealed to a tree by an arrow in the chest.

Kagome grows an instant fondness for Inuyasha and releases him from his ethereal fetters. Though Inuyasha takes coldly to Kagome and confuses her for someone else, their relationship slowly grows over time. And what a great length of time they spend together! After it is revealed that Kagome has the legendary Shikon Jewel on/in her body, it is almost soon-after shattered into pieces, which disperse themselves throughout the world. It then becomes up to Kagome and Inuyasha to recover the pieces.

As the two travel, they learn a great deal about themselves and one-another. Twists and turns abound. Inuyasha and Kagome also bump into a colorful cast of characters, who either join them on their quest or try to kill them.

The humor of Inuyasha is very similar to what is found in DragonBall Z, though it is much more refined here. The humor comes primarily from the characters' little peccadillos. Consider Myouga the flea, he only comes out when he is absolutely certain everything is safe. Also of note for the series' humor is how refreshingly the characters respond to one-another. There's nary a cliche moment. Take when Sota tells his grandfather that he plans on becoming a soccer player and not guarding the family shrine, as tradition mandates. Sota's grandfather does not get into a rage or give a boring tirade, he instead gets a befuddled look on his face and asks Sota whether he wants to become a goalie or a forward.

Inuyasha, must face off against demons throughout the series. And these demons aren't easy either - some take a full two episodes to defeat. Indeed, one of the demons we meet early on in the series, Yura, seemed impossible to me to overcome. And yet, Inuyasha and Kagome find a way to beat her, though it was a tough battle.

As Inuyasha and Kagome venture through the world, killing demons as they go, we learn a lot of things about them and their past. Don't take anything at face value with this series. It likes throwing twists, turns, and coincidences at you. I personally liked them all.

While all the aforementioned help make Inuyasha a delightful series, it is really the characters that give Inuyasha its heart. The characters of the show are all very well-conceived and just as well presented. Kagome is a typical teenage girl who is still very awkward around romantic relationships and so gets scared when she begins to get close to Inuyasha. Inuyasha suffered a very lonely childhood, not being accepted by either humans or demons, and so carries this resentment in his mind still. Every main character has a reason for why he or she behaves the way he or she does. But this beauty in Inuyasha's characters aren't limited to just the main ones. Even the minor characters have their motivations and most are quite interesting to watch. I even empathized with some of the demons!

Art

The visual presentation of this anime show is awsome, yay. i really like it and can not wait until the third movie comes to canada. the art is great and i wish i could get lesons on how to draw that good, my favorite part about the art is the eyes how they chage how sometime they are all googly and sometimes they are normal. or how the sweat drop or anime fall. and the outfits are well drawn. i really enjoy how the bodies are drawn. i enjoy the designs on the outfits the most. i love the hair how it flows and. The characters in the inuyasah series are only a little bit life like, meaning you can picture them real or meaning it kinda looks real.

Sound

The music in Inuyasha is beautiful, i listen to it everyday. i like the lyrics even though i don't know what half of them mean because they are in japanese, but i do wish to learn what they mean. the music kind of flows and i find it to be quite satisfying. i would and do chose to listen to the music from the inuyasha series over any other music. i like the different musical instruments and the timing of the music. i like that the music almost goes with what it is playing over (the ending or beginning) or in the middle of i episode how it goes with what is happening.

Presentation

The reviewable factors are awsome, i find that the inuyasha series has humor, originality, and is enjoyable to watch. some of the humor is when kagome sit's inuyasha or when sango slaps miroku, it is original because it has a little bit of everything romance,humor,sad,happy,fun,adventure etc... they is romance between inuyasha and kagome and between inuyasha and kikyo and between miroku and sango and some sort of romance between koga and kagome (not really) and some sort of romance between koga and ayame (not really) it is sad when someone good dies, in the third movie (i've seen clips how inupappa risks his life for inuyasha and his mother, and it is a mixed emotion when sesshomaru accepts rin into their group, there are many times when it is happy like when Kagome and inuyasha start to get along etc, my favorite type of part in the inuyasha series is when it is more of an adventure feeling or a mixed feeling., but if i had to chose just one thig it would have to be romance. well thats a little bit about the review factors.
