Art

The art isn't very special. But from PS to PS2.. The graphic improved greatly.
not just that, the character is also look more realistic, the weakness is. that there are still a major difference when at FMV with the normal scene. And also, if you look Tidus more closely, His hair isn't very realistic at all.
The monster, however, looks great with the graphic. It also designed with unique way.
Just like the last Final Fantasy Games.
well, its quite normal, because Squaresoft haven't makes many games at PS2 at that times.

Sound

For the first time at Final Fantasy History until Final Fantasy X. Squaresoft represent dubbing voice for the character. Whatever if its in Japanese or English. The dubbed sound has done a quite good job.
For the theme song, and battle song. its quite like the usual.....Like the victory Fanfare. But like the last Final Fantasy Games, there's just a little different from the original.
The song Suteki da Ne, is singed in Japanese. Its a beautiful song, You won't be dissapointed with it.
Also for Yuna's theme song and the other, its quite match with the character

Presentation

First : The battle system.
The battle system, Squaresoft present a new battle system named.....(i forgot) Turn based system ? it allows the player to know Their turn for the battle, example:
This is the turn :
Tidus
Wakka
Monster A
Lulu
Monster B
Wakka

and so on, it also makes a strategic play, for example if you used Haste for one character. Example for Wakka for the last Turn based System, it will change like this :
Wakka
Tidus
Wakka
Monster A..
and so on.
not only that, you could change character with pressing the L1 button, for example : Tidus has a pretty low HP, but the group were only Lulu and Riku, You want to change it to Yuna because you don't have any item, you could simply press L1 to change character and heal him.

Second : The Sphere Grid System.
A unique way to learn skill. You must use a sphere, and place it at the place of sphere grid.
If the last Final fantasy games use Level to train the attribute, now you must use the sphere at the Attribute place to raise it. Its a little hard for beginner, but it also makes the game more challenging.
You can collect Sphere from Monster.

Third : Aeon Battle.
If the last Final Fantasy Games can only summon their monster only to attack the enemy one times. Now, if the aeon battle, the aeon is summoned, and you must control the aeon to attack or defense...or even magic and overdrive.

Fourth : Overdrive.
The Ultimate skill of the character or an aeon.
Overdrive bar is raised if you fulfill the condition of Overdrive skill, for example : Stoic, increased Overdrive bar if you get hit.

Fifth : Item making
There are slot at the weapon, which can be use to raised their ability. To insert the abilty, you can use the command. and you need an item to make the ability

ffx has gotta have a better rating than that! I love the music, the story is so wonderful!
I have to say. Blitzball isn't underwater it's like football played in a clear sphere full of water. but..oh well. ^_^

But definetly has to have a better rating, the graphics are so cool! :D

Personally as a final fantasy x lover I cant say that my opion isnt bias but still you have to consider that the graphics still stand pretty par with some of the new games for ps2 and the overall sound quality come on it was something special not average but again I have a pretty bias opinion

I think even someone who didn't like the game would have rated it higher than a 7. I respect your rating but I think it's kind of low considering many factors but one main one: this is the first PS2 game Square did and they did a fantastic job utilizing the graphics and voices, high-res usage of sound and music [Uematsu always does his thing], and even a great new system to level up and keep a person playing past the end of the game. The plot and character designs was new and quirky but it also gave the special feel to the game. FFX was my first PS2 game and after turning it on it blew me away compared to not even seeing faces on the PS during gameplay.

I personally think FFX was one of their bests and at least should hit 8 [but I find it to be a 9-10]. I'm a hug FF fan and even so of FFX though I don't find my opinion biased, just facts about their results for their first PS2 game ever.
