Story & Playability

This story is one that follows a young boy Chrono on his Daily routine when he goes to see the presentation of his friends new teleportation machine. While there he stumbles and bumps into a girl snapping a necklace/pendant off her neck. When he returns it to her she decides to tag along. When they get to the displaying of the the machine Chrono's newly acquired friend decides to be the first to test it. However while inb the process of the teleportation he pendant begins to glow and something goes wrong sending her way back in time..... Is that a twist or WHAT ? Anyways this story is pretty straight forward Go through time to save this girl meet a couple of friends along the way. Even making friends out of enemies with common goals. My Favorite character in the game is "Magus". He adds the little something the game needs. Personally I enjoyed this story as it took you from way back in time to a Prehistoric setting all the way forward into a future that looks like the after effects of chernobyl. This games story was the definition of 'original'. I only hope it is redone on the next gen CONSOLE(S).

Graphics

The visual presentation of this game would not be fair to judge relative to the games of this time but to the games of it's time the graphics seemed "GOOD" . There were times in the game where I felt the graphics could have been better. Some of the Magical attacks seemed to lack a very nice visual presentation. But overall I felt this game had a done a good job graphically

The games backgrounds and environments were well done. Moving from forest to kingdoms even the sewers at a point.

The character designs were really good in my opinion. From Chrono and his companions to the bosses and random people placed in the Fair etc. Even the Frog(Glen) was well done.

Sound

The Sound in this game was phenominal. The sound effects were amazing for a game of that time in my opinion using all the SNES had to offer in the sound department. The audio in this game really gives you the feeling that you are there. From sad and depressing music to the ossacional lively rythims this games audio is a force to be reckoned with. Every song in the game is well-done, and many of them are simply masterpieces. There are a large variety of musical styles in the game, and each song fits perfectly with its situation, conveying the feeling that it is supposed to. Magus' theme is dark and foreboding, perfect for his character. The song playing while in In Chronos original timeline is one of my favorites, with a triumphant feel to it. The music playing during major boss battles conveys a sense of awe, importance, and urgency. The regular battle music is catchy, like many of the songs. The overworld map themes are actually some of the best in the game, better than most other games' best songs.

Fun

In the time when this game was created I would say that it's originality using a frog as an 'important' main character was done much better in this game than in others. "FROGGER" I mean you. This game became an adiiction for me and other I knew. The way this RPG was set up just made you keep coming back for more. The gamer who loves RPG's such as final fantasy should definately make an effort to get this game. This games was a hard and frustrating game at time with boss battles lasting for half an hour.

However if you hang in there for the long run you will ne rewarded with a very nice ending.
Also the amount of extras in this game are amazing not to mention the extra endings.
Chrono Trigger's replay value is very high, for a number of reasons. There are about 12 possible endings you can get, depending on what you do during the game. Playing over and over again just to get all the endings alone is worth it. A great feature that adds to the replay value is New Game +. Once you beat Chrono Trigger, you have the option of starting a new game using the stats, items, and level of your characters from any save file. You keep everything except for key items. This makes playing through again and getting all of the endings a lot easier. This is also necessary in order to get some of the endings, like beating Lavos at the very beginning of the game. Chrono Trigger is also relatively short, which helps when playing through multiple times.
Let me put it like this play this game play it again then frame it and treasure it for the rest of your days.
