Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan

Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan tv Review

Sakura, the main male character (apparently boys can be named Sakura too), is targeted for elimination by God. Sometime in the future, Sakura is going to discover the secret behind eternal life and create a machine that will allow people to live forever. Since this obviously treads upon God's divine power, he decides to send assassins to the past to kill Sakura. As a side effect, the machine also stunts the aging of women and they don't develop any further once they reach the age of 12. As a result, the future is the perfect lolicon's paradise.

God sends Dokuro-chan, an angel with a nail bat named Excaliborg to the present day. Her mission is to kill Sakura before he can invent the loli-machine. Unfortnately, she's become somewhat attached to Sakura and can't bring herself to actually kill him and leave him dead. Every time she does club him to death, she says the magic words to bring him back to life in her bloodily cute splendor. Instead, she has decided to live with him and find "alternative ways" to prevent him from making the doomsday device.

Story & Characters

First of all, The review is based on the first 4 episodes that I have seen.
Thanks to kawaiiguy for bringing me onto the series
The story of Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro chan is nothing new from the other Ecchi series. Dokuro Chan, an angel from the future, suddenly came to live with Sakura-kun (Yes, a guy could be named Sakura as well). The twist is that Dokuro-chan is sent by the god to kill Sakura, reason being that in the future, Sakura would invent the machine that would make immortality a reality as well as stunt the growth in women past the age 12. Obviously, since this defies the God's power, he decides to send angels to kill him in order to alter the future.
Dokuro-chan, who swings a bat called Excaliborg when she is mad, is the first one to be sent by the God. However, Dokuro-chan decides not to kill Sakura, partially because she falls in love with him. In order to fulfill her mission, she decides to disrupt Sakura whenever he is doing homework. Sakura, being the dump guy that he is, always makes Dokuro-chan mad. When that happens, she swings her Excaliborg and clubs him to death. Then she says the magic word "Pi Piru Piru Piru Pi Piru Pi" to bring him back.
One day at school, Sakura encountered Sabato-chan, another angel who is on a mission to end his life before he invented the machine. Sabato, however, is of nonsense and tries to take his life right away. With assistance from Dokuro-chan, (although in the end, he is clubbed to death by her), they managed to escape.
This anime is really cute, and funny as well

Art

Dokuro-chan is not the best drawn anime series out there compared to others. The animation however, is really smooth especially when it gets to the blood scenes, or when Dokuro-chan clubs Sakura-kun to death. However, I would love to see the artists draw the characters better. I mean, sometimes Sakura looks like he is a seven year old boy.
Being really a cute anime, almost bloodily cute as Kawaiiguy points out, the animation suffers in other scenes. Such as the time when Sabato tries to kill Sakura. Overall, animation is somewhat smooth although I would not give it a 8.

Sound

Because the anime consists of two main characters, Sakura-kun, Dokuro-chan, you will not be expecting there to be many background music or themes. In fact, I don't think I ever come across a point in an episode where they have a background music.
However, the opening must be one of the cutest one I have seen for a long time, it is sung by Saeko Chiba, voice of Dokuro-chan. If I was to describe it, I would say it is a very smooth and almost naive voice.

Presentation

Obviously, with the constant and the frequency of blood spitting in the series, it would be wise to set an age requirement on the anime. Although the theme of the anime seems to be pretty light hearted, you would get gross at certain points of the anime, such as the time when angels develop malaria when their circle get removed, or scenes of scenes of seeing Sakura getting clubbed to death by the Excaliborg. So I would say, it is pretty much a Japanese only anime, there is no way it would come to the US market.
Through four episodes, the series seemed to be entertaining me greatly mainly because of the weirdness of the show, even though I am not an Ecchi type fan. However, the anime lacks severe character development as some of the other ones such as Naruto. I would like to know the background of Dokuro and Sabato-chan, and perhaps getting Sakura to fight the god.
