Plot Synopsis
Aoshi101 wrote: Two years after the defeat of Sephiroth by Cloud and his gang, a new danger reappears. This danger is Kadaj. He and his two brothers are out to get the cells of Jenova in order to bring back Sephiroth. Cloud, in order to stop it, must pick up the sword once again and join in the fight. With the help of the Turks and the former President of ShinRa, and his fellow friends, Cloud must prevent this danger and save Midgar and the world once again.

Final Fantasy 7... Need I say more? Following up on the original PlayStation X game, Genre: RPG, FF VII was the best sold RPG for this sistem, the first Final Fantasy to have fully animated cut-scenes, dinamic battle system and the first to be ported to the PC. Epic feeling battles and an amazing story that will leave you asking for more. But this isnt a propaganda (ok, so maybe it is) but thats not what this Review is for. Known around the world, Final Fantasy VII will have a secuel on the big screen (if thats not enough for fans, the FF VII tech demo might be, as well as Dirge of Cerebrus: Final Fantasy VII and Crisis Core), and its doing so in a big way. Two years after the events of Final Fantasy, Midgar is well on its way to being reconstructed. But just when hope had finally been returned the people an illness, named Geostigma, began to plague mankind, taking the lives and hope of the people. Orphans have been kidnapped... or were they? A new enemy is after Jenovas head... and maybe even looking to revive Sephiroth. With all of this, Cloud must leave his isolated life behind for the people, once again... This epic tale brought to you by Tetsuya Nomura will be the gun slinging, sword slashing action packed tale of the year! This movie will keep you at the edge of your seat untill the very end!

Art
Visually breath-taking and realistic grafics combine with memories of a place from long ago to create deja vu (sometimes) of a place you ve been before, but not quite. But that s not a bad thing. Not at all. Scenes like the church and 7th Heaven bring around a nostalgic feeling. But aside from everything, the visuals are just spectacular. Sometimes (and if it wasnt for irrealistic hair-styles) you might forget those aren t actors. You might even forget that the objects and scenes are not real. Beautiful scenery, lush backgrounds, crisp grafics and awsome special efects... I just hope they polish some details before it comes out officially.

Sound
Epic feeling music, though not new, at least not all of it. Some of the melodies you will recognize, such as Holdong My Thoughts Inside My Heart, the One Winged Angel, J.E.N.O.V.A. and others created by Nobou Uematsu. The sound efects are top-notch, and the score is to die for, but lack of originality will bump this score down. But don t think their not likeable. Originality is a big issue with critics today, but I guess a few new songs would ve taken away the Final Fantasy VII nostalgic feeling, so let s not complain anymore. If you didn t play FF VII, no nostalgia. Just the whole epic feel to a great sound-track.

Presentation
Unfortunatly there are some factors that will lower the score from the start. It s a secuel. The music was there before. At least most of it was. The characters we know. Well, most of them. But at least there not trying to be a Matrix clone like so many other movies out there. What action flick doesn t have Bullet-time now? This one. But it has a lot of originality in it, for a secuel. New enemies, new plot twists, and the fact the first one was a game. But it is what it is, and nothing else, unlike Wrongfully Accused. And if you enjoy action, this film is for you. If you enjoy story deph, this film is for you. If you enjoy crazy, over the top excitement, this flim is for you. Especially if you played FF VII. Original character design, great musical score, awsome visual effects and the most important thing... It s Final Fantasy! Do you still need more? Get Dirge of Cerebrus: Final Fantasy VII and if you re really a big fan, send for Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII. I m sure that ll be enough for the Hard-core fans. No? How about the PSPs Crisis Core: FF VII. Not yet? Then I m sorry but there s no hope for you.

No, the DVD is out in Japan on september (the 14. exactly)

ffvii is so cool... I tried to play it but the disc was crapped up... i need to get my hands on a new copy.
Reviewing a movie before it's even out...come on! We don't even know the plot yet or anything else....
Actually, I have been investigating the plot since I heard it would come out. I have seen about 10 diferent trailers and I have keeping myself up-to-date. I investigate about the movie three times a week, too.
Still, you can't review a movie just from the trailers. In the end, the trailers don't show much. Will Sephiroth return, will Aegis do that too, or are they just flashbacks? Who is the caped man in the wheelchair? Who are the three silver haired men? Why do they call Cloud brother? Why is the movie called Advent Children? etc. etc. So many questions still unanswered..
Let me answer in order. No, they are all flashbacks and so is Zack. Not certain yet, but if you played FF VII, you might say he is a failed experiment by Shinra, like the ones injected with the cells of Jenova. The short haired teen,Kadaj, the only old one, Loz, and Yazoo, the long haired one are Clouds new enemies; they are after Jenovas head and probrably looking to revive Sephiroth. It is said that Kadaj and the others are aflicted with Geostigma, and since Cloud was injected with Jenovas cells that means there is a little of Jenova in all of them. Advent means lost, and the orphans with Geostigma were kidnapped by Kadaj, probrably to do what sephiroth could not, reunion. Oh, and before I forget, I want to boost Presentation to 7.
I still think you shouldnt review something that you have not seen.. trailer alone would not ensure the quality if the real movie and all... even if you do have some BG knowledge from the game, or even knowing the story from the website and all... and I dont think spoiling the story is one way to write a review..

Um...sorry, but already your information is outdated. I won't spoil it for everyone, but Sephiroth is NOT just a flashback ;p!
And I also agree that it's wrong to review a movie just by the trailers. The trailers, though plentiful ...do not reveal anything major about the plot..just the basics. Not to mention that half of the trailers are of low quality or of low resolution. The movie's quality will be a hundred times better when in its completed format.
I mean no disrespect, I am just as eager for this movie as you and others are...but give the guys at SE a chance...they won't mess it up for us!
omg!!! I JUST SAW THIS movie... holy- freaking- crap!!! sorry for the caps, but damn... this is the absolute BEST movie i have seen in an o-so very long time. and YES i did see it, and NO i will not tell u how or where, lets just say for possibilities sake that i flew to japan and my dad is Nobue Uematsu and saw it myself. anyway, the action scenes are phenomenal, epic even - especially the last, but that is to be expected - but wat i expected was given, and a whole lot more. i can barely formulate words rite now i gotta stop and think, i was such a fan of this revolutionary game, and this movie does it great justice. beautiful gorgeous CG, and the best part is all the characters you know and love show up in this film, seriously. i watched with a small group of friends - we cheered, we laughed, dammit we even cried - but up watching a film of this calibur, im not ashamed to admit it. the music is directly from the game, with some remixed versions - but all in all u wont find anything new, but i freaking loved it that way, new music be damned - the old soundtrack was great and i loved that they stayed true to the original. i guarantee without a doubt in my brain watsoever, that if you are a fan of the game, YOU WILL LOVE THIS movie. its true the people who have yet to play this game are not gonna get it... so my recommendation is if you havent played it - GO freaking PLAY IT NOW - u will enjoy it anyway. trust me, one of ur friends has a copy - and if they dont theyre lying. rawr. so energetic im sorry. u need to have played this game through to the end to fully appreciate this film, the silly people who havent will leave after seeing it awed, and slaked - but not elated. same here, i just saw the movie as well.. i thought it was great
this is what i find surprising.. Negative Bahamut gave a pretty accurate description of the movie itself before it was released.. (just sound and presentation needs to be upped a notch =p )
Wow, this is the best movie I've ever seen in............. MY life!!! I can die happy now, burn in hell and not give a damn. I am so complete, I am going to watch it again. My girlfriend thought it was wierd and kinda lame, so I AM going TO DUMP HER tomorrow. Why can't I ever find any chicks that like rpgs, or any kinda videogames for that matter?! O well, I'll just keep dumping'em tilll I find one, haha!! Nonstop action, wow. wow wow wow. I'm going to watch it over and over until i go blind. I'm going to buy everybody I know (personally) a copy on dvd when it comes out in the usa!!!
