Final Fantasy VII tv Review

Story & Characters

The story of Final Fantasy VII is one of the most important parts of the game. A company called ShinRa have built reactors all over the world to drain the planet’s energy. The reactors suck up the energy and transform it into what is called Mako which is like the electricity for the world. Problem is, the planet needs this energy to survive and it is getting weaker and weaker as each reactor drains more of its energy. If ShinRa don’t stop then it could be fatal for everybody living on the planet. But ShinRa don’t plan on stopping. All they care about is the money. The people of the world use Mako all the time and ShinRa make big cash from it all.

ShinRa’s headquarters are based in a rundown city called Midgar. Midgar is divided into sectors and each one is basically a slum. In Sector 7 are a group called Avalanche who plan on taking down ShinRa to stop them damaging the planet. But it’s not just the planet they are after ShinRa for. Some of the group members have a history with ShinRa that has affected their lives so there’s even more of a reason to stop them. Avalanche’s plan is to blow up every reactor that is sucking away the planet’s energy.

You start the game taking control of Cloud Strife. He’s an ex member of Soldier, the elite military force of ShinRa. Cloud has a big history with ShinRa too and after he here’s about this Avalanche group, he decides to help them. But Cloud is only after money. He’s a mercenary now after his quitting job from Soldier and is looking for pay. Your goal is to take out the reactors in Midgar, playing the lead role of Cloud Strife. But things don’t go the way Avalanche planned on. After bombing the second reactor, Cloud is stuck hanging from a ledge after an explosion. The reactor’s bomb goes off and Cloud falls far below, away from his Avalanche pals, and his childhood friend, Tifa, who joins the group on their mission. Cloud meets a young woman called Aeris on his landing on a bed of flowers in a church. She takes quite a liking to him and just as they were getting to know each other, in walks a mysterious man by the name of Reno. Aeris hastily asks for Cloud’s help in fighting off Reno and his Soldier troops as they try and capture Aeris. Aeris has her own secrets and is trying to avoid the ShinRa.

Cloud gets caught up in Aeris’ problems and eventually, after finding Avalanche again, they help save Aeris from the ShinRa after she is captured. They head over to ShinRa HQ and Cloud finds what he didn’t want to find. A sword form a very powerful man, who Cloud once knew from Soldier, planted in the back of the ShinRa president. This man is Sephiroth. Everyone has heard the tales of him. He used to work in Soldier and was very powerful. He was the highest ranked of all the Soldier members and everyone wanted to be like him. But Cloud has a past with him and he wants to settle the score. He and his Avalanche team members go in search of Sephiroth…

Art

FFVII came out early in the PlayStation’s lifetime and it’s clearly not so beautiful by today’s standards. But back then, these were some of most realistic graphics ever and I have to say, it still looks great even now. The backgrounds and settings for the towns and caves are pre-rendered so they really do look life-like. These are what make FFVII look so good. It’s the actual character models on the field that are the downfall because they are actually quite ugly to look at. The character’s eyes are the only things on their faces and the rest of their bodies are very blocky. You can see where each big block connects, especially on their arms. It’s not wonderful but after all, games aren’t about graphics – it’s the gameplay. And with FFVII, that is exactly what it’s about.

Sound

If you have played any other FF then you’ll know just how beautiful some of the music is. FFVII has one of the best soundtracks of any video game and it’s all done by the great composer Nobuo Uematsu. He really does know how to make music and there are some really catchy tunes that you won’t be able to get out of your head even when you’re not playing! The right music plays at just the right situations in the story too. Everything fits in so well with the dialogue. Absolutely nothing wrong with the sound here.

Presentation

If you haven’t played a Final Fantasy game before then this is a perfect starting position. It’s where I started off and I was immediately hooked from this game and onwards. Put quite simply, FFVII is one of the greatest video games ever made. Don’t believe me? Go play it. Don’t let the site of the character models put you off either, this is an old game now after all.

The story will keep you glued to playing it through from start to finish and even after you beat it, there are absolutely tons of extras to do. It really is quite extraordinary how huge this game is. You’ll become attached to the characters and will want to see the game through to its end to see what will happen to the characters, the story and the planet.

I could go on and on but by now you should know that this game is worth your cash. Do your best to find a copy of this game and play it through. You won’t regret playing one of the best RPG games ever made in history.

BUY THIS GAME! If you're rent it...well that wouldn't be too smart because you'd find yourself paying about 100 dollars in late fees to your local video store. This game pinches every penny you'll spend on it, no questions asked, especially since it's about 15 bucks now. So with this in mind, you should have enough motivation to run out RIGHT NOW and buy this game. Well, what are you waiting for?!? Go buy it...NOW!

Your review is well-written, but the Story section of the review is not intended for plot synopses, but for you to indicate how good the plot was, e.g. how interesting or memorable it was, how well it and the characters developed (if they did at all), and the like. Remember that a game's plot may sound cool but be terrible in its execution, or it may sound lame but be brilliant when you're sitting in front of a monitor; whether the game in question falls into one of those categories is something that we should know by reading your review of the Story aspect.

yeah your right...when i first played final fantasy 7 the first thing i noticed was the block graphics on the playing field(they looked cooler when in battle).this is a accurate score.the rest of the game was flawess.nice job!!!!good review!!! :)

I thought the review was well written and your personal opinions are truly valid. FF7 was a real classic and lets hope with the PS3 techdemo of the intro sequence, they will create an updated version for the PS3...and finish the story this time (from what I am lead to believe some was cut to meet an already delayed release date). Without giving to much away, remember the man in the tube in Midgar near Aeris' home with the funny mark on his arm. Aeris wasn't the last of the ancients is all I'm going to say. PM me if you want to know the rest as I understand it.

Hmmm I don't see why everyone loves this game sooo much I really think its way overreated. In my eyes its not a great story and game play is no where near Final Fantasy 8, 9 or 10. The story kind of sucked if you asked me. I think its more of a 5 or 6 rating game.
