As I'm the first to give some love to your review, I would have to say very interesting take on it. I found this from a song, but good job on a solid and good review.

Story & Characters
so , brain powerd is a mecca anime, but not the gundam's ones , more the evangelion style , in my heart it take an equal place with : evangelion , escaflowne , argento soma, rahXephon and overman king gainer , each of this shows have a great theme (completation of himself in eva for example) , the main theme of brain powerd is the family : the name of the "evil" is orphen , this is a geant complex hunder seas where a family of scientis are doing some research , this complex is extra terestrial and the scientis want to lead it in the space , but some ones think that'll destroy earth ... and they finish by recrut the son of the head of the orphen's scientist ... (all his family is insane :p ) , the heroes are this guy and an orphelan women , almost all the important personages have family trouble in the anime , it's that who transform a simple mecca anime in a very interesting show . The action is about fight betwenn the mecca of orphen vs the mecca of the novis noa (new arc of noe ) , the mecca arn't in metal , but organic ones, that's the other important theme of brain powerd : the nature : it's take place in a futrure when temperature imporvement hase began a reality , so japan coast town are recoverded by 3-4 m of waters ... orphen and the mecca are organics, a a lot of plan concentrate on nature , plantation , flowers ... in last the very interesting thing is that , (with the exeption of the evil usa forces :p ) all the force in presence are neither good (even if the heroe'fs friends are evidently more goos thant his ennemies ) or evil , they've got their own goals and are doing all they can to achieve them.

the art is very good , the design is one of the better , the hero and heroine are 2 of the best anime caracteres I know
,the meccas are good too . the dxrawings have olded a little (if we compare with rahXephon for example :p ) but
it's still very enjoiyable .
the action takes place between waters and sky so it lead to good themes but no so many backgrounds . what say else ?
their'se a manga of brain powerd which is draw by yukiru sugisaki , the dn angel's autor , her art is damn
good ! read it ;)

the sound is exelent , the ost's by yoko kanno , the best musicla autors of this world ! (she's done ost like escalfowne, rahXephon , wolf's rain cowboy bebop , the best I say ;) ) ans in my opinion this is her best composition , the generic is a jpop one ,but the majority of the composition is orechestral classical music which sugest north theme (I'm european , so by north theme I would say ecossian theme ) which lead brain powerd to have an very personal and original composition which I enjoy re-listen in my mp3's walker when going to university ;)

Presentation
their is a bit of humor, the show is very enjoyable , original (the plot in the near future with the waters is a very
good idea , plus the organic meca it's totaly personal ) . the end is a good surprise .
the first impression of this show was strange, cause the generic is a bit strange (you'll see what i must say :p )
but pay no atetnion to it he rest of the anime ahve nothing to do with it ;)
the environement are always good, the only reproach that we can make is the mecca action almost alwayus take place in
the same place (the sky ) but there's so good things in taht show that we ca pardon them fo this ;)
the mecca action is a bit inventive : it takes place betwenn water and sky , so the 2 element are ustilisated, it's
very interesting
what make us want to continue to see it it's evidently the love relation betwenn the hero and heroine ;)
they're relation is simply due to the hero enjoyable attitude ;)
the last thing to say is taht the voice of the heroine is merveillous , simply the best voice of anime , shes got a
leightly broken voice who's simply exiting ;)
I've watched it 3 times since I first saw and always enjoyed it , so give it a try ;)
