Rozen Maiden

Rozen Maiden tv Review

Jun Sakurada is not an average boy of his age. Due to some event of the past, Jun has spent most of his recent life in his room, unable to properly socialise. One day, he comes across a doll. This doll, however, is no ordinary doll. It's the 5th Rozen Maiden Doll Shinku, and it comes into life when Jun gives it a couple of winds.

Shinku 'enslaves' Jun into becoming her "medium". Jun and Shinku soon come across Suigintou, another Rozen Maiden Doll who is determined to defeat Shinku in the "Alice Game" to become the ultimate "Alice". Shinku must fight through the obstacles coming against her and help Jun break out of his unstable life.

Story & Characters

Jun Sakurada, a teen boy with certain problems such as lack of self confident and so he stays home instead of going to school. In fact he dreads the word `school` itself. He has a sister by the name of Nori Sakurada and his parents are somewhere doing work and all.So only he and his sister lives in the house(no dirty thoughts please). He has this weird habbit of `collectin`( buy and refund, buy and refund ) cursed items and this leads to the begining of the journey. His encounter with Sinku(the cursed doll) became more and more intimate and although he might deny it ,it is true. Then came the bad guy or shall I say female doll named Suigin.Although she does all those bad stuff but it makes you think is she really to blame cause all she wanted was to be her father`s perfect doll. The plot is most definitely one very good one but the intros to some characters have space for improvements. The characters match the story and it is quite smooth.Overall a good story line that might just pull you into the anime.

Art

The art work is nice, definitely to be given merits. This is so because they manage to make the entire show entertaining. There is the cool fighting scenes, for example the fighting scene between Suigin a.k.a. Mercury and Suisei(Jade),Sosei(Lapislazuli) as well as Hina(Kleine). In this fighting scene they have manage to portray teamwork and the cool factor is somehow maintained. The way they draw the characters, dolls especially is actually nice as they have drawn them cute, they have also paid attention to the minor things like the headband of Sinku(Reiner) has roses, tiny rose at the side. Although there are some flaws like in the scene of young Jun playing soccer, there was a minor flaw but these flaws go unnoticed. All these and more, indeed a masterpiece. After watching the anime, you might be tempted to put it in your computer as a wallpaper or to download images of this anime because it is so beautiful

Sound

First the songs. The opening song, a great sound tract and definitely special. The ending song is also interesting and lovely.
Secondly the speeches,as I have mentioned before its quite comical therefore not much to highlight but there are some certain lines that have certain meaning that a beneficial. The way Reiner Robin talks about the destroyed clown doll is,for example very sad.Although it`s not a living thing but somehow it makes the watcher actually feel for it.The speeches are good and understandable. The way the character says it also plays a factor and I have to say it is quite good.

Presentation

Overall it shows promise of bringing a few hour of pleasure as its episodes are only up to 12 and there aren`t any news of add-ons or OVA but nevertheless it is a good anime. The plot is interesting and the occasional humor in it is appreciated. The songs are good and it goes with the situation. The art is definitely to be given merits as it is nearly perfect and special attention is given to the characters as well as humourous on certain occasions. All these make this anime, one great anime to watch and definitely worth buying.Undoubtedly it will be worth your time and money as well as you attention. There is two words that I want to highlight about this anime which is comical and meaningful.NOT the usuall laugh and laugh but meaningless journey kind but instead it gives us some ideas and points of view from another perspective as well as funny. The way the character is portrayed is done nicely too as it includes comical and serious scenes with unexpected happening.I urge you all to go and buy and watch this anime as it is very recomendable and appeals to people of all ages.

I loved this anime, I actually watched it twice in a row,
this is a good review, although I would have rated it higher because I liked the OST a lot,

also, a second season has been announced (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/article.php?id=6427), it is called Rozen Maiden ~Träumend~,
and if you know Japanese, the 2nd Season's official website can be found here: http://www.tbs.co.jp/rozen-maiden/

I thought the anime would be all gothic or something because of the way they are dressed...XD but when I watched it, it actually turned out to be really good.
I really like this review, but I would have rated the art and sound higher, especially the sound because I'm in love with the opening song XD the music throughout the anime was also quite good.
Very looking forward to the second season~

I think I will disagree with the story/character.
It's an awesome review overall but I don't agree with the story part. The story seems to lack depth. There isn't a....... depth. Story seems kinda meaningless.
