Story & Characters

FLCL (Furi Kuri) or Fooly Cooly............starts out with a 12 year old boy named Naota. His life gets very weird from how it already was.....and the fact that his city has a giant iron shaped factory in it called medical mechanica.(yea i said iron)...well when he thinks everything in his life is normal a weird space alien girl named Haruko (who says she is 20) barges into his life. first she runs him over at a bridge with her yellow vespa(motor scooter) and hitting him in the head with her blue (bad ass) ricken backer guitar that has gun implacements on it and a motor...which is also virtually indestructable..this thing also flies..
after she does this Robots start coming out of his forehead which is now supposedly a black hole in his head.and one of the robots (name Canti) is on his side and is able to fuse with naota and become a super badass robot thing(same shape ans size) it just turns red(since haruko broke it when it came out of naota's head.)and a girl named mamimi(17 years old) calls canti the god of black flames (based on one of her games.)So then all the robots that keep coming out of Naota's head have to be destroyed by them(naota, canti and haruko) but a really big and i mean REEAALLY big robot the shape of a hand with tons of guns comes out of naota's head so naota fuses with canti and takes out the core of it.So later on mamimi now not occupied by naota any more goes into denial and feeds the core as her own pet.....then it goes back inside the hand which is goin for the giant iron shaped factory(how ironic)So then canti stops it and naota fuses with canti again and steals the [powers of the pirate king(hes called that only cuz he can steal whole solar systems)which is the whole reason haruko came to that place in the first place and used naota.then naota admits that he loves haruko and gives up the powers and sets the pirate king free.
which pisses haruko off he fights her with his knew powers...he over powers her gets rid of powers and then she leaves to go lookin for the pirate king again.....
then mamimi leaves the town to become a photographer.....
so all in all to truly understand FLCL you have to watch the whole sereies....not alot of people like it but i truly love it!So watch it!

Art

The art in this anime is what you would call different....they use many different artists and styles in many scenes...so this is an expansive anime. the director of it wanted it to be different that way....but all in all i have to say i liked it...if your a person who likes out of the ordinary then you like the art and styles of this anime..........and they also have things that werent even ment to be in there but are any way...such as in episide three mamimi's panties fly off while she is running two times.....

Sound

The audio was also extrordinary.especially with all the different things that were going on in the series..the sound effects were very good in my oppinion..and they express everything full-through..i personally like the gun shots and background music it fits very well....the music is a from a not so popular band called the pillows...i like it.......
the soundtrack wasnt much special..different becuase of the kinds of music in it but not a pure favorite.they have rock and slow songs and jungle like music and some music that you just can't explain so the only way to know is to get it for your self!

Presentation

this show has nothing but origianality and humor all the way! im sure you will not find another anime as weird and cool as this....it makes no sense at all at some points and and will even make so much sense that its beyound understanding......flying guitars.....gaint hands ....giant irons.....robot with a tv head......rocket flying vespa scooter thing...
its a whole nother experiance! im suprised anyone can even think up such things...this has the most origianality i have ever seen! you will so many new and odd things while watching FLCL that you will have no idea what the hell is goin on....
in one seen haruko crashes into naota's house with a foot on her head....(youll have to watch to understand) and they even give naota cat ears at one point becuase he gets diferent kinds of horns or somethin poopin out his head for each robot thst comes out next! the ears gets transferred to a diferent person when they slam heads into each other...
but i have to say i think one of the coolest parts are in the first ep when haruko goes to give naota CPR mouth to mouth every thing freezes and it does a circle around the scene..then it goes to a veiw in the star trailers of the actors(with haruko and mamimi in it) and they are talkin about hpw the slow matioin scenes give you back problems................
