Bleach

Bleach tv Review

The series begins in the human world, with the sudden entry of a stranger into Ichigo's bedroom. This stranger is Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper (in the Japanese version, a shinigami, literally God of Death). After an ensuing conversation, Ichigo and Rukia are forced into combat against a hollow (evil spirit). Rukia is disabled, and forced to transfer her power into Ichigo, transforming him into a Soul Reaver. As it turns out, Ichigo is very powerful, and even has a semi-unique zanpukat? (sword that is his primary weapon, it is much larger than most). Ichigo makes quick work of the hollow, and Rukia leaves.

The next day, she shows up in his classroom, apparently a normal human student. It turns out that Ichigo has completely absorbed her abilities, and she must recover them by using a temporary human form, Gigai. It is later revealed that the Gigai she entered was specially designed by Urahara and given to her. In the mean-time, Ichigo must take over her job, cleansing the hollows in the region.

As Ichigo get involved in a closer friendship level to Rukia, Ichigo got more to know about Shinigami life and its issues.

Story & Characters

I myself find the bleach story to be very interesting, the fact that they depict "death gods" as sort of... ghostbusters, cleansing spirits that have gone bad, and helping other spirits pass on. I really like the concept of the death gods getting thier power from thier spiritual energy, but hey nothing beats experience, as you would know if you have seen this series, the story unfolds very nicely in bleach, nothing goes to fast it seems and not many questions are left unanswered. The characters develope well, you get to know thier personalities pretty quickly, and the characters grow on you pretty fast as well >.< it is a unique story as far as i know, and the story easily drags the viewer right in along with it, it is a very addictive show. this story is pretty decently easy to follow along to, its not to confusing like neon genesis or something Oo, dont get me wrong though there still are plenty of misteries yet to be solved in the story line, i mean, after all, if everything was explained right when it was mentioned what would be the point of being anxious in seeing the next episode lol

Art

I love the drawings in bleach, they may not be the best, but they are pretty darn good, you can tell the anime is new by the drawings, good detail on most things. Nothing is to disproportionate, except for maybe Ichigo's soul slayer :p. blood is drawn well in this anime as well, and the detail in motions are pretty impressive, i like how the faces are drawn. Blades and swords are drawn exceptionally well in my opinion, some of my favorite art examples were in the episodes when Ichigo was training with Urahara, the scenery in this show is exceptional as well, i dont think there are any instances where there is background scenes that are repeated as the characters are moving along it, everything is unique.

Rating: 6

Sound

im going to have to give sound an 8, i love the music from bleach, the intros and the endings, all awsome songs, the battle music goes perfectly with what you are seeing, nothing seems out of place, the music picks up when it needs to, and the songs in the intro and the end do not seem out of place in the least. the sounds of swords clashing is awsome to, this anime has very good sound effects for each situation, and nothing seems cheesy, everything sounds as if it was actually happening, which is another reason why the show pulled me into its vortex of awsomeness >.<

Rating: 8

Presentation

Presentation i also give an 8, i enjoy watching bleach very much, and it is also a very original type of story line and idea, as far as i know anyway, i know its the first time ive seen anything like it, the humor is awsome in this show, especially with Kon ^^ and of course Inoue's secret admirer :O there is almost always some comedy releif after a tense scene, and even during battle! bleach is a very unique anime, you usually do not see enemies make jokes in the middle of battle, sometimes you do, but in bleach it is unique. the first episode hooked me right away, because of all the un-answered questions about what was happening, i think that is one of the most important things in an anime, the first episode is usually the hook, bleach did a very good job of this in my opinion, it introduced many characters whom you will get to know, and also showed new powers with many questions to be asked about thier origins, i was hooked instantly, i have not seen any anime like this one before, so im sure its completely original

Bleach is about one of the best animes Iknow of,can't say the art's bad.The plot is unique, and the...ghostbuster...concept is sort of like the one in Yuu Yuu Hakusho, but I think theplot in Bleach is equally as good, perhaps better.

Nice review of Bleach. Although almost everything you have said is positive, you didn't give an extremely high rating that some fans like to do. For me it's good because you are being realistic. The concept of the Shinigami in Bleach is unique, and I somewhat like the plot. It's been getting boring for me lately though. Actually it was getting boring half way in the Soul Society Arc. Don't get me wrong. I like this show, and I'm still watching it. I just don't think it's as great as some fanboys tend to think. I might give it a 7 if I were rating it, but I like your review nevertheless.

Could have used some work because there are plenty of characters throughout this anime. But a good start however.
