Plot Synopsis

Nano-technology has allowed small and powerful motors to be attached to roller blade wheels and the result is the Air Trek, high speed skates! Quickly gangs have sprung up claiming territories and power while sporting this new technology. With gang warfare abundant naturally the fighting and disputes are eventually resolved using the same technology that started it, hence the Air Trek battles begun. This story follows one boy who knows no limits as he struggles to rise to the top.

Story & Characters

The story revolves about this guy named 'tree' as prounce in Chinese.. He lives with this family who are actually a group of elites in the air gear society.. He was kept away from this device until later because of a incident and a gal.. he got mesmerise with this device call air gear which is like a roller skater but with a built-in motor and is very sophisticated .. After challenging with some of the pros in air gear and beating them.. he found out he had the talent to become the �Air� elite ( For information, there are 8 elites naming air, fire, spikes etc.) In order to become that, he had to form a group and beat all the pros.

The story is very fascinating and totally engrosses me. It shows the journey on how �tree� and his company matures, grows as an individual and a team. The down part is that the story is still ongoing and with the artist�s policy of coming out a manga every 3 months.(very frustrating) But I think there will be many more exciting things coming up.

Art

The character are very original and I doubt you will see similar charcters elsewhere. All the skating skill movement in battles are in detailedly drawn and I think all the skills cleverly mapped out as to give people a �whao� factor. The accompanied �animation� behind the skills further enhanced the look of the entire skill.

The guys are handsome and the girls are pretty. Enough said.

Credit almost Full marks to the artist though one small part of the artwork looks like some advertisement I have seen somewhere before. Other than that, it is an piece of excellent drawings.

Sound

Sound? Nah.. I said before it was a manga.. no anime is out yet. (And this thing is stupid and won�t let me submit review with less than 500 characters so I have to crap my way out in order to submit.. sorry for any inconvience caused) Skip the part after this if possible to proceed to read the presentation.

okie.. there is no audible sound of the anime/game.
Maybe the characters� speech? The book is wordy where it is supposed to be.. and not wordy when it doesn�t (like in battles). Again there is no sound. Do you supposes books pop sounds out? Or they want me to read it? My voice is not that good that�s why I am doing a review not a dubbing.

[due to popular demands, i will give at least a 5 on the ratings since i dont know how is the anime like. so fair enough?]

Presentation

The pace of the story is well balanced and after each book will keep you wanting for more.. especially in battles, the first team battle takes around three books to complete but its really that exciting that you won�t realise you just finish a three-books battle. There was a good mix of humor and also of the seriousness of this anime.
The seriousness are the side stories (there is quite a lot) where the characters thought about things really helps you to understand what or why did he/she did this actions or whatsoever. The funny part is always the unorthodox actions by the main character �tree� and the girl who likes him and doesn�t want to say it out.

Although adult theme is included (You cant really say it is adult theme because no sex or whatsoever is on the manga.. perhaps Ecchi? ) but that is redundant and it actually helps to make the whole comic more lively and funny.. the story and artwork is overall one of the better ones I read till now and its highly recommended especially if you are like a fan of anime chobits?
