Story & Characters
Samurai Deeper Kyo overall is a very well done anime. It doesn't have your
typical, clear good-guy and bad-guy set up but
it’s pretty easy to follow. Characters
are introduced rather quickly and it appears a bit overwhelming all at once, but
about three episodes in you'll know whose who. One particular downfall of this
anime is the final climax. When you think it will end, it doesn't; quite
anti-climactic. Girls will love it because of the very handsome characters
throughout and guys - I would think- would enjoy the great fight scenes. In a
way, it is similar to Rurouni Kenshin, but it never focuses on the group just
being. Behind every turn is a new enemy, every bend a new twist and yet
something more to ponder. It will leave you after every episode trying to piece
together what happened at the Battle of Sekigahara. So go find a few episodes
or even the manga and take a look, I believe you'll really enjoy it, but then I
am a bit biased. The story of Kyo and Kyoshiro set four years after the Battle
of Sekigahara... It’s the epic clash of
two strong wills in the same body.

Art
Art overall is simplistic. Do not be fooled though, it is quite nice. The character designs look to be that perfect medium of enough details without overwhelming the storyboard. As always for good animes, hair seems to be the magic fairy dust to make everyone fly. If that sounded crazy, then yes I suppose it is, but watch an episode and you'll see what I mean. If I had hair like that, I'd probably have my own television series. Aside from my own dreams, I think that it overall can be compared to other animes. Not to say it isn't good, just not as original.

Sound
Well sound... perhaps based upon the voice actors, I would say it really fits
well with the characters. Unfortunately, I don't really recall the background
music in the series. Perhaps it's a telling factor or that I wasn't really
paying attention to it because I wanted to listen to Kyo speak. I have no idea
about the dubbed version, but the subbed version is perfect when it comes to the
voice actors and characters synchronizing. If you enjoyed listening to Alucard
speak in Hellsing (the subbed version) then you will just simply gush when Kyo
speaks. I know I did, but perhaps it’s
my weakness... dark, sexy voices. All in all, its good.

Presentation
I would have to say that the majority of Samurai Deeper Kyo, but then I haven't
seen as much anime as others. Unlike other animes like this (Think Kenshin),
pairings aren't ever very clear save for the one exception (Yuya and Kyo). But
don't expect a great deal of affection coming from any real pairing. Yaoi-ness
between Kyo and his students are non-existent. Only one pairing seems to have
that flavor. I loved watching the anime and I was just glad that I had the
fortune to have all twenty-six episodes. If you'd like to get a general plot, go

I would give the entire series an eight, but then I'd be an amateur, or just
very biased. Overall, I would most definitely watch the entire series again if I
had the time. Oh and just so you'll know, the ending... well it isn't really
that happy, but again I'm biased towards a certain character. And don't get
upset because I gave away some of the ending, because you'll be caught off-guard
when it happens whether you know the entire story or just a little.

Kyo's anime is not good, but comics're very great.
Yeah, the anime wasn't too great. It seemed like a cool series when you watch the intro and stuff, but it's all downhill from there. It had potential.
The dubbed version of Kyo (as well as all of the other characters) is very good too...Dan Green does it and he makes Kyo's voice sound really deep and sexy...I loved Kenshin but I adore sdk!!...i have the OST and the music's quite good...the opening and ending themes really rock..as for Yaoi-ness, there wasn't any present in the anime that I could see (don't know about the manga as I've never read it)...
If I had to rate this anime I'd have to give it at least 8/10
oh how i hate this anime. kenshin still rocks when it comes to samurai anime (aside from champloo, but thats a different story). all in all, this anime was a train wreck to begin with. the manga i hear is much better and not all the enemies turn into kenyos like all of them in this anime. oh and did i forget to mention the lack of animation and increased use of a slide show? no fight scenes worth watching, plot is kinda dumb if there is one, a couple enemies look cool (the spider chick for example) but thats before they all turn into a kenyo :p, a badass main character isnt enough to support everything thats wrong with this anime. what a mess.
SAMURAI DEERER KYO is a nice name because of this i buy the anime the i found out this anime is very bad...is no worth...i think comic will be more better...BORING
i luv demon eyes kyoo forever yuyya and kyo^^
I love SDK but sadly i just read the manga. It's contains with humor and actions. I like how the characters drawn in manga obviously, even it's a bit simplistic but overall is fine. Yup, the plot isn't so bad. SdK is worth as one of your collection. Hehe...i love bishonen from SDK esp Shinrey, Akira, Kei amd Sasuke..lol
. I see it's been always compared with Rurouni Kenshin, but SDK is
different *trying not to be biased*
BTW, I love SDK
No one should rate this series until they've read through the manga. It is drastically better than the anime. 'But you don't have to take my word for it...'
