Bottle Fairy tv Review

Story & Characters

four little fairies go to the human world in small bottles to fulfill their wish of becoming human.
the reasoning behind the bottles is that you normally would put you wishes writting on a
letter and send them floating in a bottle.. they thought if we put ourselves in our wishes might be granted.
in each episode the fairies learn something new.. and try to discover what to do with it or to find out what it is.. sometimes learning something from their 'Senseisan' or from the little girl living next door (Tamachan).
they often seem to be amazed by simple concepts which are quite common to for most people familiar with japanese culture.. but for the fairies comming from the 'fairy world' it's usually a completely new thing..

the story is simple.. but certainly not bad..
each episode seems have it own little story about the subject at hand
which usually raps up nicely before the end.. except maybe 1 or 2 corssing episodes
all of which fit in the more simple story covered over the entire series..
the main story seems a bit unclear in the beginning.. but clears up a lot more near the ending.
it's probably not a story to loose sleep over.. but there's enough to make the series watchable

Rating: 5

Art

the art is certainly more to the good end then the bad end.. but not amazing..
the fairies are drawn in an clearly cute way.. quite tiny and all differently styled to each personality..
clothing is usually simply styled.. as specially for the fairies as they mainly seem to have no wardrobe
an exception to this would be the next door neighbour tamachan which as an elaborate styled but almost always similar wardrobe, and seems due to that givin a bit more attention in drawing..
special effect are certainly there as they sometimes use magick.. but it's used and animated minimally.

Rating: 6

Sound

speech is clear and often in clear 'cute' voices(higher pitch) as to be expected by small and cute beings...
Senseisan and Tamachan speak clear and have normal voices for their characters..
music is minimal except for the catchy/joyfull intro and similar ending tune
there is some music with the episodes.. and usually rather well..
the OST (Four Seasons) is supodly cute.. but I haven't been able to check it
it contains of 24 tracks containing the intro and ending theme.. a theme for each of the characters and some seasonal or story based tracks.

sound is of good quality but not of notable or exceptional quality..

Rating: 5

Presentation

the series is clearly aimed at being humorous and certainly qualifies..
episodes are usually filled with appropriate and/or odd jokes.. usually quite simple for someone familiar with the context.. some of the cultural based or word jokes might seem a bit odd as a joke to those not familiar with the culture or language.. but most fansubs seem to help with that.
it series also seems to contain some educational value recoulnizable in topics choosen for each of topics.. but it's mild and doesn't distrub the enjoyment..
overall the series is certainly enjoyable.. the characters play horrible cute roles which can be painfull.. but in a good way.. it felt rather extreme.. like you get a cuteness overdose.. but that's not too uncommon I think..
the series is certainly aimed at making the main characters lovable.. and does a quite effective job. small, cute an naive..

one could say it could use a bit more depth.. or that it could use a bit more consistency.
but the chaotic way each episode is formed seems to add something to it..
it startless the watcher not to get too much in to detail or story and just enjoy what's going on..
as do the fairies.. they can be taken up by something.. but they can also easily switch to a different topic if that is more interesting..

As I'm the first to give your review some love, it's simple, but not bad. Good job.
