Story & Playability
This is of Final Fantasy VI (six for those who dont know roman numerals, and 6 for those who are illiterate). Warning: Controversial statement coming up. This is the greatest RPG in all systems contemporary and previous to SNES (nes, genesis, etc.). The story is exquisite, just when you think its the end, you find out that you're only halfway through it (im not joking, Im speaking quite literally). Out of all its contemporaries, it offers the greatest character development (I will fight this to the grave), and indepth character descriptions. This game presents such classic heroes, and quite possibly the cookiest villian in Kefka. Although the basic storyline is cliche (well.. its been nearly 10 yrs, maybe it just seems cliche), it offers many memorable moments and story twists. Once you play through a generous portion of the game, you find yourself devoted to the story and become attached to its many lovable characters. Maybe Im biased, and maybe Im clinging to a beloved game in my past, but I feel this story deserves a 10. Good job sqaresoft (now square-enix).

Graphics
The commercial art for this game is kinda weird in my opinion, kinda artsy too. But the graphics are nothing to laugh at (unless if its a funny scene or something... keke). Im going to rank this in terms of its contemporaries such as chronotrigger, or secret of mana. The graphics are powerful, and very vibrant. Its not as good as lets say.. Donkey Kong country, but definately better than the average. Good stuff. Each character looks unique, and so does each spell and most monsters (some are just a different color, but same goes for most RPG's, even those that are very recent).

Sound
The OST is very moving. My personal favorites are Celes' theme, and the music for the world of ruins. Its kinda sad, but gives you the feeling of a little hope. The songs for many of the towns are particularly suited for those particular towns, and you just get a sort of feel for each towns mood and atmosphere. Some very cheery, some pathologically depressed. I feel that the songs in this game are a notch above the others. It also presents classic tunes such as the chocobo theme and the moogle theme.

Fun
The characters were all very well done, and original. The best thing about this game in my opinion are the characters, their stories and individual development. This game also offers some very memorable scenes as Ive already mentioned, and some very amusing scenes with some very amusing characters. Some RPG's never seem to shut up (in my opinion), but I didnt mind watching the scenes in this game. Though some were lengthy, they were all intriguing and entertaining. Theres not a whole lot of bonus things to do, such as minigames or review concept art. However, there are a ton of sidequests and little secrets to get you by; which is what I suspect to be the source of many rumors (revival of general leo, etc.). I spent many an hour trying to do impossible things, but doing so was fun in and of itself. They made it so that you do not need to regroup your characters into your party to beat the game, in fact, they even give you different endings depending on which characters you regathered. So seeing as how getting the characters are optional (I think you can beat the game with just three of them), that should keep the antsy RPG player busy.
