Plot Synopsis
Based off the shounen manga by Clamp, "Chobits" is set in the near future where persocoms (human-like computers) are common in the world. Cue in your average nice guy Motosuwa Hideki, 18 years old, a retester and a virgin at that~ He sets off to Tokyo to study at a prep school in order to get into college and on the way finds an abandoned persocom in the trash pile. Reasoning that he's reducing industrial waste, Hideki brings the the persocom back and switches her on.... At first it may seem like another boy meets mysterious girl kind of story, but Chobits goes much deeper that your average shounen story. The storyline explores some of the more mature aspects of an imminent future with machines replacing humans, of love, friendship, and what it really means to be "alive." Though even with it's mature themes, the overall look of Chobits is lighthearted at best. The comedy is very funny, though a bit ecchi at times it's done tastefully enough that anyone can enjoy it! All in all, Chobits plays out as a well written and thoroughly enjoyable love story.

Art
It shows the top of these authors in the illustration. The face expressions of
the personages are remarkable, the design of such is close and deep.I shouldn't
even have to review this part, because I'm sure you all already know. This is a
CLAMP show, people. Therefore, the visuals are absolutely amazing. Each
character is drawn beautifully, and all are distinct from each other. The
backgrounds are also drawn great. Everything looks just stunning. Also, don't
forget the animation. It's all drawn smoothly.
One of the only animes I could say definitely rivals this is "Love
Hina" (another great series). Not really much more I can say here. Another
good job by CLAMP!

Sound
I dont like the music at the opening of this anime. All done great! It isn't
often that an anime has such a good mix of music, and in which each song matches
each scene perfectly. The music in "Chobits" is great, alone and with
the anime. Some songs will have you smiling, some crying, and some making your
blood rush with adrenaline, and even some that will get you thinking, and
wondering what's going on. Half of the emotion in the show is from the music
alone.
The only downfall is there's just not a lot of music. All the music is great,
but it's a lot of the same stuff each episode. This doesn't at all subtract from
the feel of the show, though. Go on Kazaa right now and download the second
ending theme. It's fantastic.

Presentation
Could have deepened itself more in the argument and some personages. His gags
comedians are a little ingenus for a work of adults.Chobits is presented
beautifully. Any normal person would fall in love with Chi by the end of the
second episode (she's just so cute). Each character has a distinct personality,
and they all feel different from each other. I swore that these were real people
and not just animated characters. The characters are that good.
You action Dragonball Z freaks and mecha freaks may not enjoy this anime much at
first, but just wait until around episode 20, when the mood of the series
suddenly changes drastically. A story this well written would be very hard to
pull off, but CLAMP did it without a glitch. Like I said before, though, action
junkies may be a bit turned off.
One thing that brought this anime down was the slow beginning. Episodes during
this time were funny, but I felt like they were taking me nowhere. Things start
to pick up about halfway through the anime, however, so if you can just sit
through the first thirteen or so episodes, you'll see it's totally worth it.
