interesting review, I like how it's broken down, so when I paused to not read and pick it back up again I could. I like the depth you provide to reviews so that anyone can read and understand without having ever played a VN or curious about VN. since there's an anime and manga it also helps users if they wish to venture into finding more. over all, nice review, the game doesn't sound interesting but I might adventure out there for the anime however
Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai! game Review
Story & Playability
Story Introduction
The story revolves around a certain character named "Naoe Yamato" - whom is also known as
"Tactician" amongst his circle of friends for his wits and brains.
He spends most of his time around his friends - whom treats each other like family and spends an everyday life along
with each other.
However , things starts to change when Naoe realizes that he have developed feelings for one of the members in the
group...
Story Overview
Comedy , Drama and a lot more Comedy - the light hearted nature of this Visual Novel would , at most , bring tears of
laughter to your eyes. Fortunately , this isn't a "crying game" so gamers whom are slightly more...
"tear-prone" than the others would not have to worry about wasting a hundred bucks for a lifetime's
supply of tissue paper.
Essentially , the plot revolves around our unremarkable-looking Protagonist whom have only one remarkable trait - his
smarts.
It's heavily emphasized in the plot that the main character is not quite as handsome as the leader of their
"family" and that he was not quite as popular amongst the girls - which really gives a distinct trait amongst
the characters for each of them have their own habits , eccentricity and strengths.
Another interesting element to note that despite the fact that the first half of the plot had featured NOTHING but the
everyday lives of the characters , the player would find himself swallowed by the world of the game - where the
characters joke around and hang out in their everyday lives. Even the feat of walking to school is amusing in this game
and there is not a single conversation in the game which would prove to be dull or boring.
The vibrancy of the game is remarkable and is indeed infectious - one can't help but simply smile at the jokes in
the Visual Novel and the everyday lives of the characters.
The second half of the plot , however , features a bit more Drama and slightly less Comedy - of which the Protagonist
does a bunch of things to prove himself to the girl he fell for or to attain her through a series of trials.
Whilst the action scenarios of the game are fairly unremarkable owing to the overwhelming strength of the girls and
particularly , Momoyo ( The main heroine of the storyline ) , what really makes these scenarios exciting is the wit
battles that occurs every now and then - which really builds up the player's respect for Naoe Yamato's brains
and determination.
Essentially , most parts of the plot builds up memories , respect or realize distinctive traits between the various
characters through a series of everyday events - but at specific scenarios , Yamato himself proves his worth and sets
himself apart from the other characters.
Not to mention it's ironic how his everyday efforts in building relations with other people would pay off in some
of his battles.
Still , the plot isn't exactly without of tears. It's not likely going to make you weep a bucket of tears but it'll pull on your heartstrings one way or the other - but that only applies for the routes of specific heroines and characters.
The only flaw is that Majikoi may prove to be bemusing for players whom seeks a heavy plot which features plenty of info
dumping or complex themes - or something with lots of Drama and excitement.
Some of the routes are particularly disappointing as well - like the Teacher's Route , which is miserably short and
lacking in content - in fact , it feels like some hastily made route stuffed into the game to appease players with a
fetish for teachers.... So make that two flaws.

Graphics
Artwork Review
The character design of the game lives true to the plot.
In other words , unremarkable-looking characters does indeed look unremarkable as the plot states them to be.
It's interesting to see how that there are average looking dudes in the game ; considering that most Visual Novels
of such plot elements tends to feature , at the very least , better-than-average looking male characters.
Furthermore , owing to the distinct difference in skin tone , hair style , pupil color , dress sense and even the face
shape ( The face shape of the characters are notably different - a big change from a typical Visual Novel ) - it's
easy to distinguish one character from the other. Ranging from Moro's pale skin and reserved apperance to
Capt's bandana and hyperactive atmosphere , the developers had , indeed , designed the characters to befit their
personalities and behavior.
It is without a doubt that effort had been made to design the male characters of the plot - and that in itself is rare
since most male characters in Bishoujo games tends to look fairly indistinct.
The girls have their own set of unique looks as well - though it does bear elements from typical heroine designs.
For example , Wanko have long red hair which is tied in a ponytail - a classical example of an active happy-go-lucky
girl whilst Momoyo have long dark her , slanted eyes and have this "Onee-sama" atmosphere about her.
The general artwork of the game is as vibrant as it's plot. I wouldn't say that this game have the best artwork and CG scenes but it's like a hurt puppy which you can't simply ignore.

Music Review
Well , I believe you guys would have a general idea of what the music is like.
It gives the game VIBRANCY.
I'm probably overusing this term but heck , there is no other terms for this.
As a whole , the soundtrack of the game really does make the game a lot more vibrant whilst giving the game it's
"happy atmosphere"
Whilst the game may not feature the best soundtracks , it does help deliver a scene , should it be the everyday lives of
our characters , the moment of confession or simply the moment of epic-ness which is further enhanced by the wonders of
music.
Voice Actor Review
What really threw me off in this game is the voice acting.
It is amazing , simply amazing how natural the characters sound when their talking to each other.
Certainly , they sound more cheerful than normal and their voices are exaggerated to befit their roles but the way the
conversation goes , the way they speak to each other - it was almost as if the game wasn't scripted and that it was
truly a conversation between real individuals whom treats each other as family and buddies.
Another factor in the game is that... the girls can somehow turn really cute in romantic situations.
Characters like Chris usually have a dignified voice but in the romantic phase of the game , her voice tone takes a 180
degrees change.... *mind explodes*

This is a Review of Majikoi! ( Visual Novel
)
Another re-review in my pursuit for perfection... *cough*
Majide Watashi ni Koi Shinasai! is a Visual Novel with light plot elements so the player wouldn't need to struggle
to keep up with anything too complex to understand but it does feature a large cast of vibrant , happy , funny and
memorable characters which is pretty much the selling point of this Visual Novel.
It does not quite feature quite as much drama as other Visual Novels - nor does it have any form of suspense and I
can't really say it's particularly romantic - but I can say that you'd love this game for it's
characters and the bond that they share.

Gameplay
The first half of the plot features minimal crucial decision making scenarios ( Unless your aiming for some of the side
heroines ) and it is essentially the phase of which the player builds affection for the characters.
Unlike typical Visual Novels where you have to make the correct choices and accumulate "flag points" to go into a certain heroine's route , this particular Visual Novel actually allows you to choose your heroine in the second phase of the game ( Again , there are some Heroines attainable only in the first phase of the game ) and essentially , you'd simply need to choose the heroine your aiming for in the Character Selection Screen and knock off enough points off their bar to enter their route.
There are minimal crucial decision making involved and little Bad Ends to stumble into - some of the choices you make
would definitely affect the flow of the plot but most of the choices are literally a matter of common sense.
There's little challenge in attaining the proper path for the routes of the main heroines - but a little bit of
work may be needed for the side-heroines or the "friends' route" since they have a prerequisite
requirement to be unlocked.
Action
Well , truth be told , there's really no suspense to the action scenes - it's usually easy to tell whose going
to win.
What makes it epic is the wit battles that occurs in the plot - when battles occur on a larger scale and where a single
character wouldn't determine the entire outcome of the battle and where Naoe himself flexed his abilities and
attained victory for his team through his understanding of his friends' abilities , personality and
capabilities.
Comedy
Essentially , the characters goof around a lot and there are plenty of random and exaggerated jokes bouncing all over
the place.
Ranging from an auction filled with perverts to an unexpected twist to the hot spring scenario , this game is really
beyond expectations in the comedy field.
Fortunately , the jokes and the occasional randomness does not really affect the plot adversely and in fact , Comedy is
one of the major selling points in this game.
Romance
Well , unfortunately , one can not expect anything soft and fluffy nor sparkles in this Visual Novel.
The only remarkable factor about the romance sector of this game is the protagonist's efforts in attaining his
desired heroine.
The determination he puts in and the work he dishes out , his nervousness , his fear of being rejected - in fact , it
does sound a lot like real-life - except , of course , with a very Anime-ish twist to it.
H Scenes
Each Main Heroine have roughly about two to three H Scenarios and each Side Heroine have at least one H Scenario.
Essentially , the game features a protagonist with "a lot of vitality" and the occasional "one dude and
two heroines" scenario.
... Hopefully that doesn't sound too... eh.. blunt.
Anyways , there's nothing too crazy in these scenarios but the Protagonist may prove to be a bit too... dominating
and forceful at times.
Well , I guess it'll fit in real nicely with males whom likes submissive women or something but eh , it still gave
me a nosebleed.
Trivia
- There is an Anime version of the Visual Novel
- There is a Manga version as well...
- There is a new version of the game called Majide Watashi ni Koishinasai S - which features more routes and attainable
Heroines

It's nice to see another VN review from you, Z. I'd hate to think of what we'd do without you giving us VN reviews.
I have to say that I've definitely noticed an improvement with your style of reviewing, and I gotta say I really like it as well. The sections are broken down rather nicely and given us a great idea on the content and characters without becoming too over bearing. Each of the sections has a nice length to it and covers exactly what anyone would need to know in order to be interested in picking this up.
Fav part is the additional offering of what the H-scenes consist of. Seriously, including details like that is helpful to someone looking to pick it up, and the fact that you give them everything they'll need to know makes this a great review in my book!
