Story & Playability
Twelve years ago, a group of students performed various magic spells as a sort of cult. It slowly got too far until, on
the night of the Walpurgis (i.e. the night when the power of evil was at its strongest), they made a human sacrifice and
performed a terrible spell. Some rumors say that they all died. Some say they got dragged into the spirit realm. Some
say it's all a myth. One thing's for sure, the room in the school basement they used to practice in was locked
and no one was allowed in. Ever.
Back to the present day, you play the role of Minase, a high school student, who finds the whole concept of there being
such a thing as magic as totally ludicrous. One day, however, he finds these rumors were getting out of hand and decides
to set things straight once and for all. He goes to staff room and steals the key to the basement storage room. He goes
down and finds the room set up to do a ritual of some sort. Upon feeling around for a light-switch, he finds a brick
that moves. Odd. He takes the brick out and finds a strange book. In it, he finds instructions for various spells and
rituals to do all sorts of things. He decides, on a whim (remember, he doesn't believe in this magic crap) to try
out some of the black magic in the book. He decides to set a spell to induce public humiliation on Ito (especially after
she made fun of him not believing in magic). Nothing seemed to happen at first, until suddenly, in the middle of the
class, Ito stands up, walks to the front of the class, strips and masturbates in front of everyone. Could this be the
power of the book?
The game goes on and Minase finds that the book's power is incredible and finds that the magic has extreme sexual
effects on people. However, the book hides a much deeper secret. Will Minase continue to use the book's power for
his own means and reap the consequences? Or will he use it for good. Then again, maybe he won't use it at all. What
if one of his classmates got the book? And of course, who knew that one of his teachers made a pact with the
devil?
The game has twelve different endings in all which are affected by the various options you choose in the game. Some
endings are bad (as in Minase is evil), some are good and there is one "true" ending (which is very hard to
get, but ultimately worth it). Since I do my best to provide spoiler free reviews (unlike some other game reviewers) I
won't go into too much detail. Just believe me when I say that there's plenty of H to go around!
This is a fairly generic visual-novel in terms of gameplay. The usual pick choices = certain ending. One thing I did
notice is that sometimes you get just a single option that you must take. It seems quite odd that they'd put in an
option when you can only choose that one option anyway. Also, you sometimes get two options such as "Option 1: go
down stairs, Option 2: take a look around". Pressing 1 says "it is too dark" and returns you to the
options again. You can't proceed until you select option 2 to turn the light on. I felt it was a little odd, but it
makes you pay attention to what's happening at the very least.

Graphics
Many CGs are unlockable and all of normal quality. In between scenes though (i.e. during normal conversation) the
characters don't seem to have many positions. In other words, they generally just stand there and "talk".
Other than that, there isn't much I can talk about for graphics.

Sound
Bible Black follows the general industry standard of having full voice acting for all the non-player characters.
However, Bible Black takes this one step further. The player's character gets the voice actor treatment too! This
could be a pro and it could also be a con too. It depends on how you feel about it. You have the option in the game to
turn off the male character's voices if you really don't like it, but it's not too bad. As always with
this sort of thing, each to their own. As far as the music goes, it's fairly generic stuff. Some of the music is
re-used a bit too often, but other than that, there isn't anything notable.

Fun
Bible Black's an odd one to be honest. I like the game, but the storyline's just a bit TOO unrealistic at
times and rather over focused on sex in parts too! Plus, I find the whole concept of "futanari"s a bit
disturbing, but that's just me. Putting this aside, the game's fairly well made apart from the many many types
and translation errors. There's plenty of replay value, especially since some of the endings are really hard to
find.
Although I kinda dislike this game. If you like games that have a large focus on sex and a rather unrealistic
story-line, give this a go! If you're not into your strange fetishes, don't touch this game with a ten foot
pole, it may disturb you a lot!
