This is a Review of 11Eyes :
Story Introduction :
Satsuki Kakeru , a child who had lost his sister due to suicide and he grew up in the orphanage ever since that day.
Years later , he was still on good terms with Minase Yuka , his childhood friend. One day , when Kakeru changed his mind
and intends to go to the mall , they suddenly entered a strange realm where the skies and buildings were the same but
everyone had disappeared and everything became scarlet red. What awaits Kakeru in this strange realm?
Terminology :
Eye of Aeon :
An eye that allows the user to depict the future. It holds a critical part in the storyline.
Fragments :
Information won't be given due to spoilers :P But expect a lot of time rifts and stuff related to it.
Red Night :
This happens randomly at about anytime through out the storyline , causing the characters to go through a painful fit
before entering a strange barren realm called the Red Night. The Red Night is often filled with monsters as
well.
The Black Knights :
A mysterious group of inhumane beings that sought to destroy the main characters but for what reason?
The Crystallised Witch :
I'll use this term for now...since I can't really remember her name *headbangs on wall*
Anyway , she appears to be a witch crystallised in the centre of the tower , kept captive by the Black Knights. If you
think this is going to be a game of "Princess in the Tower" then your so darned wrong :P
Character Sypnosis :
Satsuki Kakeru :
Satsuki Kakeru had been is an orphan and he had witnessed his sister's death and know she had died of suicide.
Years later , he became a high school student along with his childhood friend Yuka but he was caught up in a set of
mysterious events which was dubbed as the "Red Night" by Yuka herself.
Personality :
He holds Yuka of a higher priority compared to everything else as she kept him company ever since he was a tender age
and she was the only one he could communicate well with. His devotion for her is strong and he does anything within his
ability to protect her , though he later realises that she isn't the only person whose important to him later on in
the plot as he realises his friends are important as well.
Minase Yuka :
She is the childhood friend of Kakeru and had been close to him for a very long time. Like Kakeru , likewise , she holds
Kakeru of a very high regard and is often seen being around him most of the times.
Personality :
Her devotion for Kakeru is perhaps only matched by Kakeru's devotion for her :O ( Sorry if I'm starting to
play a word game here :P ) Anyway , her devotion does get a bit frightening later on in the plot where she starts to
show signs of becoming a "Yandere". ( A person who becomes mentally unstable due to love in Anime plotlines ,
often resulting in gruesome situations )
Kusakabe Misuzu :
She appeared within the boundaries of the Red Night to save Yuka and Kakeru from being attacked from a mob of monsters
that appeared out of no where. As Kakeru insists so , she decides to protect them along her way to the mysterious tower
at the centre of the Red Night.
Personality :
She can be fairly strict but not ill-natured and definitely somewhat feminine. She even protects Yuka and Kakeru to the
fullest even though she had just met them within the Red Night , even at the risk of losing her own life in the
battle.
Tachibana Kukuri :
~Information won't be given due to Spoiler Reasons~
In combat , she uses chains to pulverise the enemy.
Personality :
She's somewhat kindly and gentle , not losing her temper or anything like that when she was being misunderstood.
However , she is unable to speak so she have to rely on a sketchbook to communicate with others.
Hirohara Yukiko :
She is also one of the few who can exprience the Red Night phenomenom like the others. She is then soughted out by the
main group as it would be wiser for them to stay in a group. In combat , she is able to move at lightning speed while
slicing the enemy with her knives.
Personality :
She is perhaps what you call the outgoing and lively types , though being a bit overly-hyperactive at times. However ,
she have a great secret behind the glasses which she wears and a reason why she wear them in the first place.
Tajima Takahisa :
One of the few people who can exprience the Red Night. He have the ability to control and recreate fire to burn his
enemy to crisps.
Personality :
His a bit cocky , arrogant and somewhat anti-social. However , despite his edgy personality , he is kind and helps and
encourages others in times of need. Though these are the qualities that only Yukiko was able to see , at first.
Overall :
The story is definitely interesting , with some decent twists here and there as well as unexpected developments.
Firstly , the good points of this Anime is , as I had said , the unexpected plot twists. The plot also gets darker and
darker and more intruging as it progresses.
The characters are generally likeable , though pulled down by several flaws. Such as Kakeru's blind devotion and
just when I thought I'm starting to like the "kindly" personality in Animes , Yuka totally killed it by
turning Yandere. Though it's kinda impressive how the developers slowly turn a kind girl into a selfish and
mentally disturbed woman whose twisted by her own emotions and thoughts...but I still hate her no matter how the plot
goes :P
Another flaw is that not all the character's backgrounds are fully explained like Misuzu and some of the Black
Knights. Their past is definitely touched but not elaborated.
The other point is , before they kill off someone , at least make the audience love them first before killing them off.
They kinda wasted it to be honest. The audience would mourn for the characters if we start to love them but the lack of
storyline events and humor sequences made the audience feel somewhere in the borderline of like and love. So when their
killed , the audience would be like " Oh , their gone , that's too bad " ( In monotone )
So character development was kinda lacking as well , other than Yuka...who had turned for the worse :O ( In a good
way...yet a bad way...How do I describe this? )
The terminologies is also easy enough to understand , though some parts of the plot got my thinking a bit before I
understood what their trying to say.
Also , this Anime have a rather RPG-ish feel about it's storyline as well as design.
Well , all in all , the developers ought to make this Anime longer...12 Episodes isn't gonna cut it.

Artwork Review :
Well , there is a reason why I said the designs are somewhat RPG-ish.
The tower that resides in the centre of the Red Night...honestly reminds me of those typical dark towers you see in
those typical RPGs where the typical baddies always resides in , no?
The Black Knights also heavily resembles heavily armoured bosses and characters you face in battle in RPGs...
Anyway , I have to admit that the artwork was brilliant , though the environment is usually immobile , their really well
drawn and Misuzu's sword set is just plain awesome :O
But I kinda have a feeling that the artist isn't too good with drawing dragons , in one of the episodes , the
dragon he drew always faces one side and does have a certain awkward aura about it...though it's probably my
imagination =.=
The opening and ending sequences are pretty much spoiler-free as well.
Rating:
Music Review :
Well , they did take the concept of the Anime into account when their writing the lyrics of the opening. If you noticed
the subs ( Or if you can listen and understand Japanese well ) , there is something vaguely about the promise you made
to friends , damnation and atonement , disobeying your destiny , moonlight etc. etc. Which , surprisingly enough ,
starts to fit in as the plot progresses.
So is the Ending Theme , "The piece to destroy the world is very light" or something like that , which is
probably a reference to one of the terms in the Anime.
List of Openings , Endings and BGMs :
Arrival of Tears ( Opening )
Sequentia ( Ending )
Seiyu :
Ono Daisuke plays Kakeru , who played roles like Yagame from Kaze no Stigma and Ushiromiya..from Umineko no Naku Koro
ni...
Asaka Yu takes on the role of Misuzu , she had also took on the roles of Sakaki of Azumanga Daoih.
Rikimaru Noriko took on the role of Kukuri , also taking the role of Nori from Rozen Maiden.
Ichimura Oma plays Yukiko...though she doesn't seem to have any roles that I know of T_T
Morikubo Showtaro took on the role of Kadaj from Final Fantasy VII Advent Children and of course , Takahisa of 11eyes. (
Much to my surprise )
The most notable Seiyu in this Anime is perhaps Goto Mai , who took on the role of Yuka , when her personality turned
into a Yandere...her voice acting changed a bit as well , which literally sent fear down my spine T_T ( I have a bad
experience with Yanderes in Anime :X )

This is a Review of 11Eyes :
Certainly , this is an excellent Anime if it wasn't pulled down by certain plotline related flaws such as the
under-elaboration of certain characters and a fairly cheesy main lead. His devotion is admirable but definitely to a
state of awkwardness and maybe a bit of repulsiveness amongst the viewers.
Anyway , romantically-wise , this Anime wouldn't turn out too well with Romance fans either , unless your into
twisted and blind romance , which I definitely do not enjoy.
But ignoring the flaws , this Anime certainly have an interesting RPG-ish aura about it as well as an unique
concept.
Overall ( Others ) :
Age Recommendation : 16+
Genre : Action , Fantasy / Supernatural , Suspense , Ecchi ( Suggestive )
Romance :
Just to elaborate on...
Well , Yuka is definitely a sweet angel at first but she turned into one of my least favourite ( Though rationally , she
is an impressively crafted character but my emotional side condemns her :O ) character and the main lead still likes her
despite her twisted ways...tch , I was kinda hoping things would move in my favour but I guess I'm disappointed
:O
He would be so much better off being with one of the other characters... *cough* Misuzu *cough* ...just how many Visual
Novel Animes are going to leave me romantically disappointed I wonder?
Humor :
There are slight humor sequences here and there but...their not exactly funny?
Fan-Service :
Pantsu-shots , suggestive sequences etc. etc.
Though the important stuff are all blocked by mysterious patches of shadows so it's pretty safe...if you ignore the
suggestive images....*ahem*
But then again , as expected of a Visual Novel , for some reason THERE IS always an Ecchi scene.
Adaptation :
I heard this is adapted from a Visual Novel so I checked it out and apparently , the storyline is quite different from
the original and in fact , the original was far more elaborated in every sense. Though the Anime is relatively tamer in
terms of content...If the Anime was disturbing for you , you won't live through the Visual Novel :P
Gore :
There are no direct views of mutiliation what-so-ever , often being blocked out by awkward shadows which are obviously
the censcors. Though the sound effect does sound gruesome :X
Trivia :
- The full title is 11eyes: Tsumi to Batsu to Aganai no Sh?jo , which was adapted from a Visual Novel of that name but
the title was shortened for the Anime.
- Depending on the version you bought , the PC version is 18+ , the Xbox is 16+ while the PSP version is 12+
- I heard that there was something called 11Eyes : Cross-over , probably some sort of spin-off?
Reviewers Comment :
Well , this Anime is worth a shot though the romance is a bit disappointing...Ahh well...*grumbles on like an old man
for several hours*

Gosh I waste my time watching this shitty show hoping that it would get better as it progresses but it didn't. The
ending was disappointing to say the least. Resurrecting all the cast except for Kikuri and Shiori left me with a wtf
expression? I would give it a 3/10 and that's only because I'm in a good mood. Your rating is way too high but
it's understandable because your rating individual aspects of the show.
ooo,ok,thx
oh? is it good? i thought the animation was poorly done
I don't want to offend anyone else or bash but personally I don't want to watch this. The more I watched the worse it was.
is this under harem genre?
Thanks for the unique review!
