Hanazakari no Kimitachi e manga Review

Ashiya Mizuki was feeling bored when she switched on the television. It was a regular morning and she saw a high jump competition; in particular she saw an athelete by the name of Sano Izumi. Completely captivated by his jump she began collecting all and any information on him. Sano Izumi became her idol and source of encouragement & inspiration.

Determined to meet her idol and watch him jump, Mizuki worked hard and decided to study in Japan. However a problem soon arose; Sano studied in an all-boys boarding school! Undeterred, Mizuki snapped her locks, packed her bags and left America to attend Ohsaka High School, disguised as a boy.

Mizuki's high school life is full of many exciting and thrilling events. Afterall, it's no easy feat for a girl to remain safe in an all-boy's school! Mizuki must not let anyone discover her true identity, lest she'll be expelled from the school. Not only that, but little by little Mizuki is falling for her high jump idol and is trapped between remaining as Sano's friend or exposing her true gender and risk the friendship that is so precious to her.

Story & Playability

Hanazakari no Kimitachi e is not your average romance cliche, with some halfhearted story line. Right from the beginning, the uniqueness will have you captivated and you will be reading it from beginning to end. With all honesty, Hanazakari no Kimitachi e was one of my earliest Manga I have ever read, and still the story is fresh in my mind. I have yet to read a manga with a story better then this. The story line is not too vexing, and is far from confusing. Reading the manga should leave no one in the dark about certain areas, and can be enjoyed and understood by anyone. But a good story needs to contain good characters, and this is yet another element that is found in this very Manga. Each character has a unique personality and feel you get from them, and each has brought joy to me as I read on. Amazingly, there is no one character that I neglected or did not like. The romance as well as the Humor are undeniably incredible, which left me wanting to read more and more. The manga was not afraid to step on the border line of Sexuality as the the some events that unfold in the in the manga show, and many different thigns are revealed. This gives a more realistic, and a further unique feeling for the Manga which is greatly mistaken for something bad. It is not the only manga to do this, but it has not gone overboard like other manga, giving it a great and unforgettable story. Yet the ending did not satisfy me completely, though it still brought a smile to my face. Hanazakari no Kimitachi e ended, leaving behind its own legacy, a Truly great story.

Graphics

The art in this manga starts of slightly rocky, without much emotion, but as it Continues on it improves dramatically. Unlike many other manga, you can get many different effects from the art in Hanazakari no Kimitachi e. Straight away, you can tell what feeling is being conveyed by the art giving the Manga an incredible feel. Yet Without a doubt, I can say that there are much better Art works out there, So I can say with confidence that it is not one of the best arts out there. But at the same time I can say that the art in Hanazakari no Kimitachi e still leaves a good impression.

Sound

Hanazakari no Kimitachi e is a manga, thus it has no sound that can be heard. If sound were to be heard, I think everything would be fairly obvious on how things would sound by looking at other characteristics of the Manga. The illustration shows emotion, giving the effect whether the voice would sound happy, sad, angry etc. The character development shows how each character acts, and the text and dialog brings the most in depth understanding. The dialog mixed with the art of the Manga, shows at what height the characters are speaking at, and with what emotion they are speaking with. Everything is seen clearly, and no misunderstandings should arise between how the characters sound, or what tone and emotion they are speaking with, despite not hearing it yourself.

Fun

The romance is presented in a straight forward, yet uncommon manner. If you do not enjoy a straight forward romance manga, then Hanazakari no Kimitachi e is not for you. Everything in this manga is conveyed and illustrated perfectly, giving large amounts of humor, enjoyability and suspense. This is not a manga that is enjoyed more if you are a certain age group, or gender. The dialog has no, or next to no profanaties in it. The art is also drawn in a way that can be both understood, and enjoyed by nearly any age group or sex. It is a great manga, which can be enjoyed by basically any reader.
