Story & Playability
On the celebration of the new millenia (1000 A.D.), our protagonist Chrono is
awakened by his mother and is reminded that he has prior engagement with his
childhood friend, Lucca, the young, enigmatic robotics prodigy, at the Millenia
Fair in the town square. As Chrono heads toward the Millenia Fair, he bumps into
a blonde girl name Marle, who decided to accompany Chrono due to her lack of
experience outside. As they make way to Lucca's new teleportation device
showing, Marle volunteers to try the machine out after Chrono's successful
attempt at being teleported and is sucked into a hole in time.
Chrono's only clue to Marle's new whereabouts is her mysterious necklace, and he
soon jumps into an adventure that transcends time and space into a journey that
will allow him to meet unforgettable friends and foes; but what awaits him is
more than an adventure - a being bent on bringing about the destruction of the
world is awaiting for its time to emerge!

Graphics
The faceset used by Chrono Trigger was designed by non other than Akira Toriyama, the very same man responsible for the infamous Dragonball saga. The resemblance between the characters are unmistakable, and therefore adds more enjoyment to the game. In addition, the chipsets used in Chrono Trigger far surpasses the limitation of Super Nintendo system, or any console of its time, with its amazingly detailed texture and origional settings. The battle graphics are superbly done, and the whole graphic system is customizable for any preferred color texture.
The character set is also noteworthy in this amazing game in that the sprites are extremely detailed, down to its facial expression and body poses.

Sound
The sound of the Chrono Trigger is surpassed only by its origionality and replay value. The mysterious opening music is almost mesmerizing in its beauty, and the battle theme is very upbeat and great to the ears. The town theme music, the dungeon theme music, and other miscellneous theme music definitely adds spice to the play value of the game as it fits 100% with its corresponding settings, and is perhaps one of the best orchestrated game on Super Nintendo, rivaled only by Final Fantasy VI and such.

Fun
Although Chrono Trigger lacks in many areas, especially humor factor, it plainly
makes up for with its origionality and replay value. It offers over eight
different endings, which adds points to the replay value as mentioned above, and
each decision you make early on in the game can affect the people you can have
in your party and/or affect the ending of the game. The battle system is also
unique in that it allows you to create combo attacks, which can also do
substentional amount of damage to the opponent. All in all, the presentation
factor in Chrono Trigger is satisfactory, but it leaves character developement
much desired, especially in the case of what Chrono is thinking (he never talks
throughout the game).
If you haven't played this classic, it is not only available in Super Nintendo
console, but also for Playstation console as a special package with Final
Fantasy Chronicles. Almost all who have played this game will most definitely
recommend this game.
