Overall, Code Geass revolves around Lelouch Lamperouge, a seemingly normal student of the Ashford Academy. Under those pretenses, he is, however, a member of the Britannia Imperial Family, the eleventh prince of the Emperor. Lelouch, who plots to overthrow the Empire, is granted the power of the Geass by a mysterious girl by the name of C.C., and in return, he has to grant her greatest wish. And thus, using a pseudonym 'Zero', Lelouch establishes the Black Knights, in order to create an ideal world for him and his sister Nunnally to live in. Basically, everything focuses upon Lelouch's one goal to plot against the Empire, and yet there are so many additional things that can be connected to the plot, such as the appearance of Mao and other characters.

Alright, now moving on to the characters. Most of them were certainly excellent creations, such as Lelouch, C.C. and yes, even Suzaku. However, Euphemia, who seems to be a total duplicate of Lacus Clyne, who originates from GSD annoys me greatly, and Mao, for his obsessive compulsiveness for C.C. In addition, Shirley, who gets on my nerves every time she makes an appearance. A minority of characters makes an appearance, and doesn't exist any longer, unless you count those main and major ones. Bland for that, I suppose.

But lest of that, Code Geass makes you think: what will happen later? Who will 'die' next? How exactly is this character is connected to that character? A lot of 'whys', 'hows', and 'whom'. Slightly confusing, but as you grasp hold of everything, it becomes exciting and enjoyable.

For those who appreciates much action, a solid storyline, and a cliffhanger plot that leaves you wondering of it's ending every single second, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion is a must watch.

Art

As stated, even though some additional scenes may contain ecchi-ness, but the art... oh, it's really lovely, especially with the complex designs of the Knightmare Frames. Knightmares may have been a more ancient version to the GUNDAMs we are all familiar with, but Suzaku's Lancelot left me gaping in awe. Blending of colors are done with much precision, though occasionally it flairs a bit too much. The characters are well designated, appropriate with their own appearances. Sometimes, the outfits DO go out of board, but that can be tolerated. A little more refining would have been much appreciated.

Sound

The seiyuus performed their deeds wonderfully- especially Lelouch and C.C. seiyuus, Jun Fukuyama and Yukana. Though I would have to say differently for most OP and ED themes of Code Geass. Most do not suit to my tastes, and certain ones frays my temper occasionally. An OP -that I could not recalled the name- sounded gibberish, certainly not points you seek for inside a song, but ignoring those, the background music certainly matches the concepts of this anime. A mixture of many genres, certain background music and the OSTs are inspiring.

Presentation

Humor is not very present in Code Geass as it more focused upon battle scenes, but somehow, everything within Code Geass fits in place- piece of puzzles to form a picture. Code Geass leaves its viewers wondering and pondering about its climax, a trait which is much appreciate, considering the sad fact that most animes do not contain any longer. Code Geass was certainly enjoyable. Certain parts drove me annoyed and sometimes disgusted when I re-watched it, such as the whining of Shirley and a scene with Nina Einstein which I would not like to describe, but I would give the presentation a well deserved '8'.
