Plot Synopsis
No plot synopsis or other information available for Kimi ga Nozomu Eien
Story & Characters
High School. The place where it all usually starts. Friendships, Rivalries, Love
and the like.
But, haven't you ever wondered what happens after they leave school
behind?
Kimi ga Nozomu Eien starts out as a somewhat typical School Life anime, replete with the matching students and simple love angle and such, but then it masterfully twists the story into a chain of events that will rival any existing real-time drama out there. It depicts the harsh reality of Love and Regret, and goes beyond the usual fairy tale ending of most School Life Romances. The story focuses on 3 people, a boy and two girls, and how they deal with their situation from their high school days up to the present. A simple plotline, yet its twists is what sets it apart from all other romance anime out there.
The Characters are well-defined. This meaning they're set as real people, with
no evident stereotypes prevalent in most animes. (e.g. the pretty boy, the
uber-beautiful girl etc.) Although at first glance the characters may seem to
fall under a specific stereotype, as the story progresses, they reveal
themselves in a new light, making them seem more human than most. Almost all of
the side characters are important in some way. (The two waitresses are an
exception.. Somewhat ..
)
Definitely one of the more finer points of the anime.

Art
I'm not really an artist, so I can only criticize an anime\'s based on my
preferences. For me, the art was okay. Not that it needs to be computer
generated or such, but that an anime that relies heavily on its story for its
plot doesn't necessarily need lots of flashy art in order to appeal to the
audience
I like the fact that they didn't overdetail the characters, the
surroundings etc.
Simple and Clean.

Sound
The sound, if you're an anime-lover with varied taste for music, and who enjoys
flair in the musical score, then this anime is satisfactory at its best. The
various BG songs hit the emo factor where it counts, and the use of the piano in
its OSTs, specifically the ending, is heartbreaking
Most
notable among the songs would be Rumbling
Hearts which is the 2nd ending song, and Kimi ga nozumu Eien which is the last ED. Both of these songs fit
their respective scenes in terms of feeling. The style/rhythm is not
exceptional, but it does give a nice feel to the story.
I wouldn't want to spoil the anime by enumerating all the good scenes, so I'll
leave that to the viewers

Presentation
The beauty of the arrangement of its events is that the story makes you guess
what has happened, instead of serving it up straight. It presents the details,
slowly, one at a time, so as to make you anticipate the next time another detail
is presented. Occaisionally this style makes you fell like shouting, "WHAT
THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS PIECE OF S***?!", but this works in its favor
NOTE: I was not the one who said that, it was my anime-freak friend.
All in all, in its brief 13 episodes, the anime manages to present a realistic
love story that is unlike any love story out there. For those looking for a love
story that deviates from the usual giddy-type animes that make you feel good,
this is the story for you. For those who can\'t appreciate the beauty of this
story, stay away, else you make comments
that are based on your bias
p.s. There isn't really a lot of humour involved in the story, but in every
episode, after the ending song, there is a 30 sec flick that usually involves
the two useless waitresses in the story. They serve as comic relief, and should
be seen as "intermissions"

When I first watched this anime I somewhat hated it. Not because of the plot, which was good, but the main character. He IS still a jerk to me. I don't know why this piece of trash did what he did in the end
, but
well...
Still I can't wait to see an OVA Haruka's Road. And yeah I agree with your final note.
^ I agree with you on your point on the main charac.
(I
wouldn't want to spoil the anime with details lol
)
He is a selfish SOB after all, because he wants the best of both worlds..
OVA! I want to see it too.
I couldn't stand this show. It tries so hard to be serious, but ultimateiy, that's what brings it down. If I want drama, I'll watch actual live action shows. Not this crap. The characters were unbelievable in everything they did, and in a show where everything is character-driven, that makes KGNE from bad to worse.
And somehow, the waitresses made that even worse.
To what Ky said, DITTO. This anime tries too hard and fails to deliver. It's a low quality substitute for some good live action asian dramas.
As for the review, your ratings are heavily skewed and the descriptions are uninformative. You may want to edit before the review mod gets to it.
Okay then, Ill modify this to suit this site's standards. But I'd like to point out that this is an anime and not exactly a real-life TV drama. I'm basing my review on that fact, and not comparing it to live-action dramas. I'll admit that the live-actions are way better since the actors can fully liven up the characters with quality acting, but I can't see why KGNE deserves a lower appreciation value just because of that..
Anyway, I'll revise this anyway, since I didn't put quite that big of an effort in it.

Thanks for the input. (its my first time btw
