Plot Synopsis
Tsukamoto Tenma has long been keeping her love to her schoolmate, Karasumaru, a secret until one day she heard that Karasumaru is going to move within a month. Feeling desperate Tenma tries any possible way to reveal her feelings to Karasumaru, aided by her little sister Yakumo, and fellow classmates.
On the other side, a young delinquent Harima Kenji falls in love to the seemingly innocent Tenma, but all his attempts have been failing at all times. Would Tenma finally realize Kenji's hidden feelings? Would Tenma's burning love reach the cold and flat Karasumaru? School Rumble follows the funny adventures of Tenma and Kenji with their love confession trials, misunderstandings, and laugh-able desperate measures of teen romance.Story & Characters
The series that is so funny, so refreshing, so cheerful, and so popular that it
actually got a second season - that would be the anime School Rumble, which
mixes comical love with...comedy.
Tsukamoto Tenma is a dumb girl. She is so dumb and clueless that one must be
mentally challenged to be like her, yet she is madly in love with her classmate,
the odd and random Karasuma. During the first season, she tries her hardest for
him to notice her in comedic ways, with ridiculously entertaining results.
Meanwhile, the class deliquent, Harima Kenji, is trying equally as hard for the
oblivious Tenma to notice him, and the series goes on in a love triangle. The
first semester focuses on these three, while introducing the other characters as
well as their special traits. Yakumo, the popular and quiet younger sister of
Tenma, who has the ability to read minds of the many men who lust after her;
Eri, the half French girl who lives in a mansion and is friends with Tenma (and
also has a bit of a crush on Harima); Akira, the quiet and eloquent tea-lover
who is secretly a spy and also a friend of Tenma; Hanai, the class
representative who is obsessed with Yakumo; and Miko, an athletic friend of
Hanai and Tenma. These are only a few of the interesting characters that will
make the series even more intriguing.
School Rumble is not only the series to cheer anyone up when they're down, but
also a series that is able to create unique and enjoyable characters that will
lead on the course of the story. It is true that they're not very realistic in
terms of setting and characteristics of their age, but this anime is so lovable
that it's able to be accepted for what it is.

Art
The art in School Rumble is just like it's genre and plot - colorful, bright,
and cute. I found the art tecnique very clean, and overall, it was very
likeable, just like the anime's other aspects. The setting and background fits
in perfectly with the characters, and while all the characters have their
special look and characteristics, they fit in with each other.
Sometimes, the artists will use different styles of art and lighting for certain
scenes meant for parody, which is all the more fitting with the concept of the
anime.

Sound
The soundtrack is not spectacular, nor is it horrible. Because School Rumble is
such a great anime in terms of its art and antics, the sound is unfortunately
somewhat shadowed, so I didn't pay too much attention to it. Even the opening
and endings are somewhat pleasing, but not a tune to be particularily
admired.
The music does, however, manage to uplift the special scenes of the show, and
helps in delivering many entertaining parody scenes.
As for the seiyuus, like every other point, they made the characters alive. Each
and every voice worked to create individuals that came together in awesome
scenes.

Presentation
What I just loved about School Rumble was that the story was so vague (he likes
her, she likes another guy) so that it allowed space for randomly funny events.
The humor in School Rumble is, at times, very random, and the producers are able
to make it work. Other than the comedy, the series are able to express teenage
frustration at love that seems to go nowhere, and make it into exaggerated acts
that start in comedy, and end in comedy.
The anime is also able to touch upon warm themes, of friendship and loyalty, as
well as kindness and the willingness to help. School Rumble isn't the best anime
I have seen, but certainly amongst my most favorite ones. Never will it let you
be sad or down, and you will always find yourself loving the characters.

This is so true. School Rumle is great for these reasons and it's randomness is loveable. Yes, It has it's places where it can be improved but it makes it all work for two seasons. It's a hillarious anime and your review was accurate and true.
I haven't watched it yet actually out of fear of addiction. I tend to be attracted to something like this and I just don't have the time for that right now. I would have much preferred that you said this show was crap as now I'm oh so tempted to start watching. Thanks... thanks a lot.
I watched this series, and i can say is one of my favorites comedy anime series... its pretty diferent from others i have seen, characters have his particular charm...
I just love it...the story, the action, the charecters... its great I can tell...
Out of all the animes Ive watched over the summer School Rumble was definitely one of my favorites. Loved the characters, not very developed but still loved em. Dont really need a back story for them. Ne way it was just a funny anime that I enjoyed watching. I dont really remember the music too well, but the art was vibrant. A must see for all people looking for a comedy. I thought it deserved a lil better than a 8.33
This comedy is one of my favourite animation! It is great! It always makes me laugh even when i was crying, it makes me laugh again!
School Rumble Season 1 is better..but, Season 2 story is mainly about their conflicts feeling and not so entertaing. This review is so true about everything..but I think the music is not that bad.
I've just started watching this anime - and while it is one that I can't sit and watch for 10 episodes straight, I do get a laugh out of it via it's utterly wackyness and randomness.
I think you reviewed it quite justly
