Fullmetal Alchemist

Fullmetal Alchemist tv Review

"You can't gain something without sacrificing something else of the equal value. This is the principle of the equivalent trade."

The story takes place in Amestris, in the early 1900's. Two brothers, Edward and his younger brother Alphonse Elric, live with their mother, Trisha, in the small village of Resembool. Although their father left home when they were still very young, his sons inherited his passion for alchemy and practiced it on their own. In 1909, Trisha dies of an unknown illness, the boys' father still nowhere in sight. When Ed finds out about human transmutation from one of his father's books, he and Al engage in intense training in order to be able to perform the ritual that will bring their mother back.

In 1910, the Elric brothers cross the forbidden line; unfortunately, the resurrection attempt is a complete failure, as Ed loses his left leg and Al — his entire body. In a last desperate attempt to undo the damage, Ed binds his brother's spirit to a nearby suit of armor, at the further cost of his right arm. After recovering, the two embark on a journey to find the legendary Philosopher's Stone, rumored to facilitate alchemic tasks without the requirement of equivalent exchange, in hopes of getting their original bodies back.

Story & Characters

This, like all of the animes/mangas, is 100% original. I'ts about two brothers. In this world, there exists people with special abilities to manipulate objects and transform one object into another. These people are known as alchemists. This process does come with a cost though, the basic law of alchemy states that to gain something you have to sacrifice something of the same value.

The main character is the famous alchemist Edward Elric - also known as the Fullmetal Alchemist - who almost lost his little brother, Alphonse, in an accident. Edward managed to contain his brother's soul in a large suit of armor. While he did manage to save his brother's life, he had to pay a great price himself.

To get back what they've lost, the brothers embark on a journey to find the Philosophers Stone that is said to amplify the powers of an alchemist enormously . I suppose this is a very nice anime, but some guys wouldn't like this anime . In the end, there's love that just makes you feel..happy and a lot of action.

Art

I'm not really sure if I missed any parts where the quality is bad, but it seemed beautiful to me. The artwork is consistent throughout the anime, not like some other animes where its bad. But there are some people say that parts that looked a little bad. Well, I am not sure about that , because i believe it's fine and looks great. The characters all look great, and some scenes where you go nuts and you can't hold your enthusiasm. Maybe its just me who feels excited... The detials, characters, background, all are drawn very well. some might say that the art isn't exactly number one. However, I think that its good enough to keep most people happy except for any people that are crazy over the need of extremely amazing artwork.

Sound

The intro themes, background music, and ending themes are all pretty much suitable for all kind of watchers. Not only for boys, even girls could enjoy watching it. The soundtrack have a nice rythm that maches every part of the scene. It is really great to synchronize the sound with the scene to give you as much of an experience as possible. The voices are MUCh better than most of animes. IT's basically a very good work that can't be denied and the work is really undisputed . I love this anime and it's one of best I have ever seen.

Presentation

It is in fact 100% entertaining, and it keeps you want to see more. At least, I haven't heard of an anime about a two boys lost parts of there body trying to revive there dead mother. All of the action starts from there.. otherwise, its something that will feel refreshingly new to you, especially if you're a regular anime watcher. Me, I've seen quite alot of action adventure animes. therefore I do believe that this anime is away beyond any other action anime I have seen. because it gathered everything in one anime. you can feel the emotions and the excitment. above that, you frankly can't wait untill you see the next episode.

Humor... some of the things that they do, make you laugh cause its cute...but again, maybe thats just for me :P. There isn't any "its funny if someone gets hurt" stuff here.
How much you'll enjoy watching it depends o the kind of person you are, but I certainly liked watching this from beginning to end. Anyone who's into it absolutely MUST see the rest of the anime, including the movie wich is has been just released. Although, most girls probably wouldn't like this, cause its so full of action and bloody scenes as well...what the hell, I didn't really care as long as i am a man...lol .... am I selfish?
